I have this phone, used it for awhile on Verizon. Switched to AT&T and the voice and mms worked fine. The data was on at 3g. Switched carrier to I-wireless (t-mobile affiliate) and voice works. However the mms is non working and the data is only 2g. I have put in the correct APN settings. The phone is rooted. I have tried to purchase an unlock code but was not successful. What do I need to do make the data atleast 4g and the MMS to work also?
Also the M OBILE HOTSPOT apps don't work. What do I need to fix this too.

Hey guys,
Longtime lurker, first time poster and all of that.
I am in possession of a brand new Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE (Korean model SHV-E120S).
I would love to help get custom ROMs and other things onto this device, and I'd be happy to dump my phone or provide system images... if I knew how to get them!
It seems Samsung does their mounts a little custom, as the ROM dumpers I've found don't work (missing a /proc/mtd). Can anyone point me towards how to get a dump of the .img or other files someone much smarter than I needs to get development off the ground? Even if devs don't pick it up, I'd like to get a dump of the files anyway for my own tinkering.
Appreciate any replies
hi brother l have the same device and l want the full firmware .I found the room but not the full firmware I need the PDA and pit files .go to the first section (galaxy s2 general) then go to (Korean galaxy s2 ....) on page 54 and 58 you find 3 links for the room
Yes, I saw that ROM posted before, though the tar appears broken.
What I am looking for is a tool or a guide for dumping the ROM myself. I have rooted the device (Zergrush v3) but not much else.
Sent from my SHV-E120S using XDA App
Hi.
I have the shv-120s and I also want a full firmware.
Love the phone. But I want swedish meny.
I think there's only English, Korean and a [custom?] Chinese ROM for the Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SHV-E120S) and LTE (SHV-E110L) phones.
If you want to update your firmware, try Samsung Kies software:
Code:
samsung.com/ca/support/mobilesoftwaremanual/mobilesoftwaremanual.do?page=MOBILE.SOFTWARE.MANUAL
So have any of you been able to use this phone in America? Are you using a custom or stock ROM? Korean or Chinese? When I try to use the phone here in Canada w/ Rogers or Fido, it won't connect to any HSPA/3G networks. Can anybody can help?

I am actually in Korea for the next year and change, so I can't vouch for it on Canadian networks. From what I know of the radio, it should work on Rogers GSM networks for 3G, but it won't get LTE/4G service there (different frequencies in Korea/North America). Are you sure your phone is unlocked?
I am running the stock Korean ROM 2.3.6, but I have rooted mine with zergRush.
Actually I should get 3G & LTE (because Rogers claims to use LTE 2600) but no HSPA+. It wont connect to the network. I suspect that it's possible that the ROM is keeping me from connecting since it's asking me if I want to use Network data outside of South Korea. I suspect the ROM wont connect to foreign data bands. I was just wondering if there was any way to try another ROM...
Hi all,
Last month I had just bought Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SHV-E120S) in Korea and bring it back to use in Malaysia.
Everything is working fine except for SMS.
I am able to send and receive SMS by using the default SMS program. But i can't send out SMS if i use third-party SMS program i.e. GoSms, Handcent SMS.
My phone is not rooted. Details as below:
Firmware version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: SHV-E120S.EL21.0917.ST
Kernel version: 2.6.355.11-E120S.EL27.1737-CL776986
Build number: GINERBREAD.EL27
Somemore, when i tried to restore the SMS backup from my old phone (I9100) to this SHV-E120S, using GoSms, "SMS to Text", "Backup to Gmail" etc, all the old SMS didn't go into default SMS program, instead, it showed only in GoSms or Handcent SMS.
I'd already done the factory reset but the problem still exists.
Do you guys have any idea on this issue?
Appreciate any help from you. Thanks.
Hi guys I am having the same problem, SHV E120s, test messages with GO SMS pro worked initially, but now i am unable to send regular sized SMS.
Just wondering if anyone has figured out how to fix this, or what the issue is
Thanks!
Using OnlyOne Beta 2 - UCLE2 *SGS III TW* *SVoice* - Stock, Rooted, Deodexed. Fantastic ICS Rom. Thanks to Devs for this! (kifac & flappjaxxx)
Wiped everything, rebooted flashed with beta2 update.
On Telus network Svoice gives "Network error. Please try again."
Connected to Rogers Wi-Fi, it works like a charm.
Tried build.prop edit as per some threads - no go!
Settings for network seem correct. LTE and 4G run well.
APN settings are default Telus.
Anyone manage to get Svoice to work on Telus network? If so, what rom or modem are you using.
Thanks in advance.
(first post, hope I did it right!)
I am also having the same problem but with the beta 4 ROM.
If anyone can help please do!

Many Thanks

I'm in the same boat. Flashed and I've changed ALL the WAP settings in DFS and PRL update with no luck. When you find something let me know.
[Q]Completed Verizon S3 SCH-I535 Root & Unlock, Question About Different Carrier SIM
I have a Verizon Galaxy S3 SCH-I535 running Android 4.1.2.
I just completed the xda-dev installation "Root, Custom Recovery, and Unlocked Bootloader for Jelly Bean OTA (4.1.1 or 4.1.2)" showing as updated 3/5/[2013]. I completed all five steps. [Note, I chose to install the CWM Touch Recovery 6.0.2.3 instead of TWRP Recovery 2.4.3.0].
Regarding Step 5 - Restoring your Jelly Bean Bootchain, does this do anything to undermine the unlocking of the cellphone?
When I go to "System Settings" ... "About Phone" ... "Status", at the bottom under "Device status" it says "Modified".
My goal of course was to be able to take this cellphone, install a new SIM card from a different carrier, then use it either on either the "Global", "LTE / CDMA", or "GSM / UMTS" basis.
Before I go tramping around popping in different carrier SIM cards, I wanted to pose this question to the community.
Thanks much.
Remember a Verizon i535 only has Band 13 LTE, so it won't work on many other carriers, (like ATT, TMobile, Rogers, most outside the US).
Band 13 is Verizon only. ATT is Band 4 and 17, Rogers is Band 4, not sure on TMO yet, haven't honestly looked.

T-Mobile Accepts Unlocked Verizon S3 Phones
In going online and speaking with T-Mobile, they do accept unlocked Verizon Galaxy S3 cellphones on their network.
In fact, T-Mobile has a link set up directing potential customers to a website where you can purchase the unlock key for $29.99. I believe once you have paid you can unlock and relock as needed. However for change of carrier purposes, T-Mobile does accept unlocked Verizon S3 phones.
Also, Straight Talk states they accept unlocked Verizon S3 phones. I believe Straight Talk may be using the T-Mobile Lte network.
I would appreciate comments on the above after anyone researches out what I found above, and to correct any errors.
Thanks, Bruce.

Hi,
Serious noob here... I have played with flashing roms with odin, but ages ago.
I have a Verizon SGSIV (SCH-i545) build KOT49H.I545VRUFNCS
It is giving me some problems with my local carrier (I live outside the US) the MMI codes don't seem to work (GSM). The phone is fully operational when it comes to voice and/or data access, but the bloatware and constant network search is definitely a problem.
I would like to load a debloated stock rom to my phone (or suggestion to a stable custom ROM) all i care about is stability, performance and functionality, not all the bling of some custom mods.
Since i am NOT savvy when it comes to this, i don't know if i should do this, or just use a root app delete and remove the bloatware manually, even though this will not solve the "Phone Activation, This SIM card is from an unknown source" message i'm getting.
Any help pointing me to the right thread?
Info:
I am in the Dominican Republic.
My provider is GSM, and data works fine currently, but cannot run star codes (*89, *74, *75, etc.) returns message saying invalid MMI code, when the phone should run these as phone calls, not MMI codes.
MMI codes starting with '#' work just fine.
Verizon is not a local carrier, using their network is not an option.

Model Number: SCH-I545

Build number: KOT49H.I545VRUFNCS
Secure Boot Status Type: Samsung
DEVICE IS ROOTED, no further customizations.
