[Q] How do I get rid of the KitKat status bar gradient? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have AOSP KitKat on my Galaxy S4 and the gradient on the status bar on the home screen just rapes my AMOLED burn in *takes breath*. I've tried modding the SystemUI apk with custom photoshopped gradients (completely transparent) and the modded apks either don't launch, glitch tf out, or have no effect. Is there an app that's specifically designed for modifying the res folder in SystemUI? Keep in mind I don't have access to a PC.

Jelly Bean Lockscreen Icons

Could someone please tell me the resolution of the lockscreen icons for the 4.1/4.2 lockscreen or better yet provide me with a link to some icons usable for the JB lockscreen.
See I have a pack of plain white vector icons, however when changing one my lockscreen shortcuts to a custom app, there are no default icons suitable so I use the vector icon but it's about 5 times bigger than the other icons!
As it's the lockscreen I'm not having the easiest time getting a screen shot to demonstrate what I mean but I'm sure you can envision what I'm talking about.

I'm having the same issue as you with my messaging icon on the lock screen being twice as big than the stock jelly bean icons and would love to have it uniformed with the others.

Im sure the icon size would be device dependent as the DPI of the screens isn't the same on all devices. Do you know the DPI of the device you are using?

[Q] Removing Translucent Black Shade on Locksreen Background

Hey I'm running CM10.1 on my HTC One x. I was wondering how to remove the black shade ontop of the lockscreen background and just have your background clear and not darkened. I've been looking around framework-res and trying to edit stuff but had no luck, I have no experience in coding, just flashing custom roms and decompiling apks.
In CM7 there is an option to set an image as background for the lockscreen, check in the CM Settings, maybe you can do it.
Putting a custom image for your lockscreen doesn't remove the translucent black shade unfortunately.
Excuse me for reposting but I'm still wondering if anyone can help me with this, it seems like a pretty simple mod.

[Q] Removing icon color frame

Hi!
Im using Flatisco icon pack and ive applied it to my Holo launcher on my Motorola Atrix 4G running CM11 (4.4.4).
Obviously, Flatisco does not support all my apps so i change thier icons manually, but i noticed that the icons i applied manually are framed with some random ugly color that i dont want. ( Screenshot added, look at HiroMacro, 2Lines for clash...).
How can i make those icons like the other icons, without the color frame? (Ex. Root explorer, Greenify, SuperSu...)
Thank you and have a good day!
Edit: had to resize the photo in order to upload.
Any ideas?

[Q] How to make my system use the quicksetting toggle icons

I have a Verizon Galaxy S6. Firmware OE2 Lollipop. It appears that the quick setting toggles are used for backlighting shapes only. And only the "Off" png files are used. If I insert custom toggle icons to replace the stock ones, only the shapes show up in the panel but the shapes are replaced with a solid color rather than the actual png file images themselves. How can I get it to use the actual icons?
Sorry for such a noob question.

How to skin statusbar/navbar? (A11+)

Hello,
I got new phone and since I am a bit more conservative, I hate the transparent background of statusbar and navbar.
I modified the navbar to partially fill my needs, but can't get to have non-transparent statusbar.
Is there a possibility to have custom background image for these bars, regardless on running app?
I can then create my own skin of them.
I have Samsung Xcover Pro, rooted, Magisk and Xposed installed.
Thank you, Tomas.
