I just bought a Huawei X1 to find out i dont like the UI
was wondering if it is possible to remove it and have a pure or clean kitkat rom installed on the device?
since i'm new to android, I did some jailbreaking on iphone back in iphone4 era... but after I got my 5s forget all about that, now I like to have a clean android and non of the chinese apps.
Yes you can. :good:
Just install another launchern such as Apex or nova.
Pure ROMs don't exist for this phablet.
Some launchers require root. See main tgread for instructions which depend on tge firmware version.
With root you can also remove the chinese apps.

thx for the answer, any way too root kitkat on x1 ? (4.4.2)
I tried some none seems to work yet...
Those I tried :
Vroot 1.7.3
SRSroot 4.7
Rootgenius
can some one help?
The root question has already been answered in the thread of each firmware. Check which X1 you have (e.g 7D-503L) and the last four digits of the firmware (e.g B0007). Then look for that thread and find the correct info.
finally got to root the X1 on kitkat (501U,B007) with vroot 1.7.8
still working on removing bloatware and things i dont like and need
sorry, i posted misplace. I don't know how to remove.
You can remove Huawei Emotion UI from and use another launcher. I use Nova Launcher.

Unfortunately, this does NOT resolve the conflicts with Xposed, etc. I fully deodexed an Emotion v2.3 ROM, and am now able to run SuperSU (fully) and Xposed v2.5.1, but I still have to disable resource hooks in order to use any newer version of Xposed (which prevents most Xposed theming activities).
I think the real question is not just how to change the face of the UI (easily enough done), but how to eliminate the conflicts caused by Huawei's underlying theming engine. For this to work, it would be necessary to completely eradicate Huawei's theming engine. Thus far, this has proven impossible.
If anyone has any suggestions, to this end, PLEASE share.
Thank you.

You are absolutely right. Installing another launcher from google playstore means the new launcher will be running on top of EmotionUI. So, two launchers will be taking up valuable resources (memory) simultaneously and thats a memory hog which will slow down the phone. I have already done this and I know how slow my phone became and it kept freezing so now i have taken the playstore launcher off and back to EmotionUI.
My phone is rooted and I had once delete the emotionUI files using some root file explorer but upon restart the EmotionUI got loaded back into memory. I gonna have a look if i can find traces of emotionUI on the hard drive of the phone and then delete it all.
hi any news anyone tryed wiping or changing emui engine ?
Sorry no other roms than emui roms for the X1. But xposed does run on it, if this is what you need.

IT WORKS! Installation via xRecovery.
Here's a mod of the AOSP ROM. What I've basically done is added a Gingerbread theme, add some Gingerbread apps and a few other things. It's based on version 008a of the AOSP ROM.
I don't have a Xperia anymore, but if people are willing to post some screenshots, I'd dearly appreciate that and include them in the OP.
If you like my work, you could consider buying me a beer:

Download links:
Version 2.2:
Modified the Phone app, some other stuff. The menu-text is grey (I stole the correct .xml file from a Desire Z ROM), statusbar-background is black. Everything should just look a little more fancy.
http://www.mediafire.com/?n01dve9z1hw6cwo
Version 2.01:
Gone forever.
Version 2:
Modified the status-bar, framework-res.apk to look a little more like Gingerbread.
http://hotfile.com/dl/92665523/d29b00f/2.1_Gingerbread_v2fixed.zip.html
OK it should be working again. The problem was probably services.jar
Tadaaaa!
Version 1:
http://hotfile.com/dl/92341597/68ba217/2.1_Gingerbread.zip.html
Bugs:
HTC_IME doesn't work for some reason, needs to be installed manually.
Camera drivers aren't fully implemented yet.
Reserved for future use.
Changelog:
Added the correct .zip of the ROM
Made it function
Added icons, deleted apps.
Todo:
-Add, customize and remove certain apps
-Get the text back in the menus
I sent a PM because the ZIP file isn't working for xRecovery (there's an extra folder in it).
So I repacked the ZIP to have "system" in the ZIP's root and now it loads/flashes fine from xRecovery.
It's just that this ROM doesn't boot at all, tried installing/wiping twice, it's just stuck on the SE screen.
Thought this might be an important bug to post.
Can you post some screenshots?
Cuz. I'm in HK and I have slow speed in downloading files from hotfiles
Thanks~
I am from HK too,but the download speed is not too slow.
Also, you can use preminium ac searched from google
Sent fRom mY rooTed X10i uSing XDA App
ROM doesn't boot at the moment, I recommend to wait with downloading.
It completely works. I'll fix the menus later, but they're still usable, the text in the menu (from the menu-button) just doesn't appear, but that's where icons are for.
which files need to change to change the font? Change those that SE is constantly rebooting

What do you mean? Is the phone rebooting? Seems quite strange to me, the AOSP ROM doesn't do that either?

I replaced the fonts on DroidSans-Bold.ttf and droidsans.ttf and the phone was constantly rebooting
well I really like your ROM
You shouldn't have. Not all fonts work on Android and they can cause your phone to reboot constantaneously.
If you know how to work with adb, issue this command:
Code:
adb push /directory/where/you/placed/the/original/fonts/DroidSans-Bold.ttf /system/fonts
adb push /directory/where/you/placed/the/original/fonts/droidsans.ttf /system/fonts
If I remember it well, this should work.
Does this means we can't use the camera with it yet or there is just f/c close in adv. settings like the custom from j&z ?
And could you please tell me which gingerbread apps you implemented ?
It's based on the AOSP ROM, so it has the same issues. I don't know what the exact problem is in that ROM, but it's the same as in this one.
The Gingerbread apps:
Launcher
Youtube
Cardock
And more, but I accidentally forgot
does the camera and audio work?

Audio: Yes
Camera: Advanced Settings don't, the basic app does, I believe. The camera issues are the same as the AOSP ROM from jerpelea and zdzihu.

Nice Rom. Will test it out.
V2 is out. It are primarely UI changes, to look more like Gingerbread. The statusbar + icons have been modded, for example.
So I just recently rooted and flashed CM 10.1 to my gs3. I have a few questions I would like answered.
1.) I have my device rooted from some .zip package (forgot what it was called) because I have mac/linux, therefor I cannot use oden. How would I go about rooting a new device like, a gs4? I ask because I remember the thread saying the .zip was discontinued and was to be used at your own risk.
2.) Why do I get a bunch of errors when I start up any version of JuiceDefender in the logs? Screenshot is here

}
- It says to get CM, but as mentioned above, I am on 10.1 and I own Ultimate version, get the errors with free and beta version too.
3.) Any known good additions you guys think I should add, or any other apps that could do better then my current apps? I have SetCPU, Adobe Flash (surprisingly works on 4.2.2 somehow) via installing a flash required app. Greenify, LMT, Clean Master, MobileCare, Ninja SMS, AirDroid, Everything.me Home, Quickpic, HD widgets (and the addon for it, asked the dev and they said they are gonna do lockscreen support in the future), the google play app that was leaked on the gs3 forum, ROM Toolbox Pro, Seeder, SwiftKey, Lux Dash, and Watchdog (paid).
4.) Is it me or is a dev lazy (no offense to you guys) if they say that rooting/flashing breaks his HTML5 app? I wouldn't see how that could possibly break it, and I know HTML myself...perhaps its just the dev or something root/CM 10.1 related? The app in question is Digimon Invasion, like the UI spazzes out when selecting stuff at some points and scanning makes the app reload as if I just launched it instead of starting battle.
Thanks in advance!
1. Read its corresponding forum, each and every device may have different way or package to root.
2. You better contact the its developer.
3. Try them yourself, something may fit you needs and something not, it depends on yourself.
4. Hnmmm, I don't know anything about HTML5, but from what I know the HTML5 is a web page language, and if it's web page, then maybe the problem is about browser?
As far as I know every different browser has different support ability about HTML5 , it's highly unlikely could be effected because of root or flash. In my humble opinion .

Thats down to the developer as to what they allow on the product some root fails on security issues .

Hi,
Total noob here. Just came from Blackberry 2 days ago and my head is about to explode with all i have learned about rooting, bootloaders etc.
I Got a Galaxy S4-VRUAME7. Rooted it last night.
I am trying to find an app that will allow me to control permissions given to installed apps.
I have tried a few out with not so great results.
LBE reboots my phone (known problem with Jelly-bean)
and a few others i tried that froze (cant remember which)
Is the best option to use a translated chinese version of LBE? like this?
And if so then do i need to install from my desktop following instructions such as these
or is this a better route:
PDroid Privacy Protection which needs a patch. What would I need to know about using this one with my rooted droid?
or....?
Thanks for any suggestions/guidance.
Xposed framework with xprivacy is what u need.. No hassle of patching framework like pdroid but got the same function, probably even more powerful.

thanks! But now my head is really spinning.
Is this my required reading for the night:?
430 pages here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43892381&postcount=1703&nocache=1&z=9436779862769084
I would pay a good amount if i was able to just install one app. but i guess that would mean i would have to find something else to do tonight.
Just read xprivacy thread. Reading first page is enough I think. Usually first page of any thread is full of info on howto do things right. Basically what u need to do is root your phone, install xposed installer then install xprivacy.
Ok, I installed the Xprivacy Installer and now I am at this point:

}
When I click the "Download/install Xposed" link I am taken to this post.
From here do I just click on the "....latest.apk" link and it installs?
Do I need to install any other patches? What are the chances of getting into a "boot loop" as i did with LBE ?
I would like to help out however possible so I would buy whatever I can to support this developer. In this case would i install the "XPrivacy Pro enabler" and then also get Xprivacy Pro ? or are they the same thing.
Try asking in xprivacy thread. I haven't got enough experience using xprivacy to guide u through it but asking actual people who actually using it on its dedicated thread would be better.

will do. thanks for the help.
I got XPrivacy Pro Installed and working ! Now i can install worthless aps like facebook on my phone and limit the permissions.
I thought when I left Blackberry 3 days ago that i was done monkeying around to get stuff onto my phone! I was wrong.
If I had posting rights (i think i need to do 10 posts before I can hyperlink) I would write up a description of all it took to do the install. Definitely not easy for a noob to do. The installation consisted of multiple parts/components and instructions were not clear to a noob like me and they were not all on one page.
But it was all a good learning experience which will help with my next hackadroid venture.
thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
Glad to hear that u nailed it at last. Enjoy your secured droid. Probably more secured than berries now

Hello! I want to introduce you to Lewa OS LG Optimus L5.
Features:
(Google translation)
Advanced Status bar includes traffic counter, memory management, phone, notifications and in addition has a great shortcut bar;
Built-blocking software from unwanted calls and filter SMS;
Unique search engine in the address book;
Universal power manager, called "Power +", will significantly help to keep your battery;
When calling, photo displayed on the entire screen;
Here is a small list of what is in this firmware, but the main thing - something that is not seen her "hiding" inside, ie very thoughtful code! That guarantees the stability and ease of use.
What's working:
GSM
Receiving and making calls
Display
Camera
Audio playback
Audio recording
Video playback
Touch
WiFi
Bluetooth
Hardware video decoding & encoding
Sending/receiving SMS/MMS
Sdcard
GPS
Not working/Tested:
NFC - untested
Problems with Google Play Market
Lewa OS needs to screen with 480x800 resolution, so the screen L5 can be graphic "artifacts."
This ROM is created Russian-speaking developer from Minsk nickname Buslik. I (Ezio68) ROM update it to the latest version and bug fixes.
LeWa OS only for jellybean (v20) baseband.
Attention! Standard ROM Russian language! English and other languages switch settings (on the Russian setting is read as Настройки)
ROM base on CM 10.1 and are therefore suitable kernel from cm 10.1.
Download Rom:Google Drive
Download Gapps(they operate only):Я.Диск
P.s. Post to be updated
Does it have English language? Are there any bugs?

English is included in the settings. But the standard Russian language, as it is my native language. There are problems with the themes: not all of them fit the screen L5. Just Gapps behave strangely. I would be glad of any help in solving problems.
I have been trying this ROM and I have found some problems with the playstore, it just downloads the apps and doesnt install the apps, also, I cant get root access from my apps so i cant install root explorer or titanium backup, is there a solution for this?

Any ideas..?

ezio68, thanks for the reply. Like you, I noticed that when I installed an app from playstore, if I rebooted immediately while the app was installing, on reboot, the app installed.
Here is a step by step guide.
Wipe/factory reset etc.
Install rom, then install SU version 1.94 and reboot. Do not install any gapps!
Launch playstore and choose the app you require. Start the download then reboot immediately [as the app is downloading].
Upon reboot, launch playstore and you will find that the app will install as normal.
Choose another app and repeat the process.
I know this is not an ideal fix, but it does work...
If anyone has any questions, let me know...
Cheers,
Shabby.

Thank you. Anyone here can translate? my russian is not sooo good
What is this ROM based on CM12.1? CM13? Other? Ok let me take the chance, and take a more direct question.
On which version of Android is this work based on? Kitkat? Lollipop? Or Marshmallow?
*Edit*
Pouring over the Zip File from Google Drive...
Seems to indicate that this is a Modded Stock Samsung ROM... So very likely a KitKat 4.4.2 ROM...
Not sure if want. Since what I really want is OmniROM on this Device. Barring that CyanogenMod.
@StilleWaesser
Wouldn't ya know I think Google has a Browser App for that.... Just feed Google Translate the URL, and it should translate the entire Site for you.
It's the stock ROM just debloated. At least the screenshots look like stock, so no android 5,6.
Yeah I tried... if Google'd translate correct, I might understand somehting. But the translation is not usable.
Already been that far on my own....

Sorry that it wasn't useful, I know its [Translate] kind of crap at translating Russian. Mores the pity that this isn't more of a custom ROM.
What with all the known open vulns that Kitkat, and Lollipop have. Stagefright, and now this new Dogspectus-android-ransomware it's not a good time to be running such an old OS, unless you have to... For reasons.
Though I guess AdAway would at least help with the latter. By blocking such crap from getting anywhere near the Device, but still...
Do i need to flash the ROM using CM or just using the build in ?
i really want to use this rom as my T325 keep lagging sometime freezes.
