Hi,
I think you grabbed the wrong efs, it contains no nv items only same few files as from /efs accessible from root file explores etc. inside android. Basically you provided a dd from dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/efs. I did compare to my own.
Their is other efs. It contains numbered nv item files. See img attached (sorry for low quality, forum img size constraints)
See if you can get to files in nvm folder.

EFS not wrong,The NV item 10124 is Access denied,We can't do anything until it is Allow access.Maybe baseband MI3 or baseband MDC can read/write The NV item 10124.But I don't downgrade success.
I don't know how the Chinese do N900P unlock,I paid $50 in taobao, and the phone has been unlocked, but I analysis doesn't come out with the EFS.
I will try our best to provide the file you need

unlock only in chinese?
the n900p and n900j are similar in that they are both stuck on cdma...but the n900j seems to be easier to unlock. are they flashing the n900j software on the n900p?
maybe flashing the software wipes / writes over those nvitems....

Grab the relevant stock zip file from here (most likely "XT1526_Updated_SURNIA_BOOST_5.0.2_LXI22.50-14.6_cid9_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip" but verify it). The one I grabbed for the unlocked XT1527 has a recovery.img file inside, so I'd assume that they all do.
one question, i have the 1524. i have it rooted und unlocked. i have only sideloaded the recovery. is there a way to read the recovery from the phone ???
edit: i mean the original recovery

I'm sorry to be asking a stupid question.
What can I use this for? I have the Note 8 N950U and I want to root it. Will this help? I know how to use TWRP and ODIN and I've rooted numerous phones in the past. I'm just not understanding this "Combination file" term.

In the past engineering software had unlocked boot loader or permissive SE, first steps to get root. Unless you know exactly what you doing, I wouldn't touch it and wait for experts to find solution, namely root. Engineering software may not be 100% stable or may not let your phone fully charge etc
Devs workkng on root are already past this point...no need for this unless using to unbrick your device or other development purposes...this will also be used in switching carriers when we get it all figured out...Do not use if you do not know what you are doing!!!

I am waiting for your step by step as I have T mobile with permanent SIM unlocked.
I was able to flash to Unlocked version FW and removed the bloats but the carrier is still TMB in the baseband .
With this Factory Binary can I make my phone Fully unlocked Version to XAA/XAA/XAA? is it called debranding?
The reason I want have some more freq on unlocked version LTE band that T mobile version don't have. and use some CDMA on 3G
I am hoping there is no hardware limitation on T mobile phone.
Thank you

For debranding you need root...for carrier switching...guide is up and allows you to change clear csc to add intended csc so you can flash intended carrier Firmware without previous carrier info...https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/guide-sm-n950u-u1-t3685884...why do you want to debrand the device?

Thank you Bluefox for reply, I might have wrong assumption that if Fully Unlocked Firmware is also determined by the last 3 digits XAA ( support CDMA band)
I don't have tools to proof it work with CDMA, (unless by registering my device to sprint after flashed to XAA) , as T mobile only support GSM.
Job assignment force me to use some CDMA band while overseas and most of them in job site still use CDMA in 2G and 3G which is not covered by T mobile handset with original FW.
For better explanation of my question , Can I use the handset without Sim Card on Sprint as long as they register my Handset (MEIID/ESN) for Voice service only.? like old time CDMA phone handset?
Thank you again
I got the Verizon Note 8 and flashed the T-Mobile firmware using the carrier change tutorial here. It has all the T-Mobile branding but it still has traces of Verizon:
1. download mode has CSC of VZW
2.settings -> about phone service provider SW ver it says TMB/TMB/VZW
How do I get those 2 changed to TMB so it is 100% like a phone that came from T-Mobile?
The 3rd code is the original CSC for the phone & can't be changed.... well unless you have root you can try.
Why do you want to change it? It won't really affect anything.
Do have root that doesn't break the Knox flag?
Generally yes but I don't know what variant you have. Assuming you have a US U variant then no but the current root method has other drawbacks to be considered.

I'm not sure exactly, I never looked into it much. IIRC you have to edit nv files in the efs folder. Mine is TMB/TMB/XEF, I never cared really as there's no reason to try & change it. The first 2 are all that really matters.
If you follow the guide correctly you can completely change your phone to a different carrier. I got my Note8 from Xfinity, canceled service and got it unlocked. I followed the guide here and now have a phone with firmware exactly the same as a Verizon Note8, no traces of the Xfinity firmware.

This last CSC code is hardcoded in the device to show where was originally bought it will never change without root.
Easy fix if you're rooted....but not worth rooting if that's all you want to change....however you could root, then change the value and then return to stock unrooted and the setting will stick.

Edit the 3 letter code in the sales_code.dat (the one in the carrier folder phone is)
Example i have a tmobile branded phone to change i would navigate to /system/omc/TMB/etc and in the "etc" folder open sales_code.dat with text editor and change the 3 letter code to what you want.

This information is stored in the EFS partition as this code is the original provider of the phone.
You can change it but is a bit risky losing IMEI.

Have you tried that & does it actually change the 3rd CSC? Cause that's not the way to change it that I'm aware of. My sales_code.dat is TMB but my 3rd CSC has always been XEU.

The 3rd CSC is stored in the EFS partition but it's not the ones in /efs/imei, I believe the third CSC is stored in the nv files & I think the 3rd CSC is the same as what shows up in download mode.
I still don't understand why the OP wants to change this, it won't really affect anything.

Anything that contains that information should never be shared unless you don't care that your device could be "cloned" using that information. It's generally not a good idea.

And not just that. Your unlock code is calculated based on the IMEI in oeminfo, if it changes so does your unlock code.
And as it is now (Not sure if this is the case of C567 too), you can only get an unlock code if oeminfo is intact, as it's generated using your IMEI.
So don't use someone elses oeminfo if you still want to be able to unlock.

It doesn't use the info in oeminfo for your phones actual IMEI. That's in one of the nv partitions.
