Has anyone heard or have some insight as to when/if HTC will update their messaging app to support Android Wear?

Thats a good question. I toyed with AW with the G Watch and the Gear live, but I use GoSMS, and it worked like a champ. I dont think I have personally used a stock messaging app in years ...too bland
I hear you but it would be nice of oems got on board so that it would add functionality right out of the box instead of having to switch apps...

cm11 limited support, needs Samsung OEM, 4.3, 4.4.2
Have no clue what the whatsapp is, some sort of messaging thing? May get it to work
Use Hangouts and it works on OEM Note 3, 4.4.2

will it work on s4 with wanamlite rom (tw rom) with no bugs?
you don't know what whatsapp is? facebook just bought them with 19 billion dollars.
that is messaging app by network, how can i be sure that it will work on my phone?
I should never of answer you thread.
Ok so it works on your custom ROM, why ask?
I can not be bothered with custom ROMs, myself.
Ok whatsapp, do I care what facebook paid for it?
I rarely use facebook too.
You get it working you can select more notifications and enable notifications from whatsapp.
You want somebody to tell you it works on their device it is not going to be me because I will never install whatsapp.
I heard of whatsapp but for me it is useless.
Hangouts work and is good enough for me.
What I find funny is people willing to take a chance on warranty, blow the Knox and do not care if they install boatware like whatsapp.
.... it is irony.

with stock kernel and ROM, Gear Fit works fine with Samsung Galaxy S4. Only the automatic unlocking by near doesn't. It is either S5 feature or depends newer Gear Fit Manager app on G5
WhatsApp doesn't support notifications with Gear Fit, but Facebook Messenger does. So, why to use WhatsApp when Facebook Messenger works and is not so battery hungry than WhatsApp is
dunno if you are a fitness person. I use it to light watch and for notifications. If you wanna try cheap smart watch, the Samsung Galaxy Gear 1 got the Tizen kernel and the price is about 99 dollars/ euros. The Galaxy Gear 1 name is after flash burning Samsung Gear. "Galaxy" on name means the Android battery hungry version.

Yes every notification you get on your phone also works with Gear Fit. But you have to activate the apps on Gear Fit Manager.

Hello everyone, I am new to the xda-developers forums. I currently have an iPhone and I will be switching over to the Galaxy S5 come Saturday. The only thing I will miss about my iPhone is the emojis. I know Samsung has made their own emoji keyboard with a recent update. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to getting the iOS emoji keyboard for the Galaxy S5 (where emojis will show up every where and not the android ones)? Hopefully it will be the route where I will not have to root my phone.
Thanks everyone
maybe is not possible

If you don't want to root or flash a custom recovery the only solution I see would be to use an alternative keyboard which has iOS emojis.
This would be perfect for what you want: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618523
But you need to root your device !
Cheers
This app has Apple emoticones support: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-stock-messaging-sliding-ui-extra-t2825144

Whats a flash custom recovery? And if i were to use the alternative of finding a keyboard with iOS emojis, will those emojies appear as they do in the keyboard when I use them lets say in the notepad app or something? Or will the android ones appear once typed? Sorry, I'm a noob when it comes to androids.

How easy is it to root my phone? Is it like a one click thing with a program like a jailbreak?

First off, try the above app and see if it fits your needs. No root/custom recovery needed.
Can someone link me to an AT&T s5 root thread? My iPhone is so slow and it's taking forever to search

hi guys
can u install on my gear s android os instead tizen ?
thanx
That would be cool at least a bigger app selection and Google now
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app

only rumour but the up coming Z1 is able to run android apps
Sent from my SM-T320 using XDA Free mobile app
Rumor sadly incorrect: Android apps won't run on the Z1.
I'd love to find a way to install Android apps on the Gear S. The Tizen app store is such a joke
Google won't let Samsung get away with installing Google Play Market apps, especially Google services apps on a non-sanctioned OS, especially the one Samsung is hoping to compete against Android OS. So, the best Samsung can do is create its own app market and hope devs are supporting it. I seriously doubt this will take off. Samsung can't even make its own Android app work correctly across its own ranges of Android phones. They know how to make fantastic phones but their software has always below average.

Glad im not the only one.
I too have been searching for how to do this. Did you ever succeed?
I found some android 5.0 links from a google search, but they look fake. wonder if CM11 or CM12 would work OR the method used for the gear 2. Sure would be nice. i almost got the ZGPAX S8 (nearly the same guts), but opted for the Gear S (for the scren) w/ hopes for the eventual android ROM.
Fingers Crossed,
:good:
hasnt happened, there is nothing in the works, any links on google that say otherwise are false....
Hi.. I've been wondering if anyone has the imessage for Android app since its been pulled from playstore... Does anyone have a working app since the one i downloaded gave me a "network error can't sign in"

I don't think that Apple would be glad.
Apple should release iMessage for android
Ok, let me get straight to the point, shall I? Is Anyone working on a port of Android Wear 2.0 to the Gear S? I would love to see this, as I love my Gear S running Wear 1.5, but I hate not being able to use the Google Assistant! Also, perhaps there is a way to unofficially get Google Assistant onto an older version of Android Wear?
Love to hear some news!
Hi @StarBlade ,
How you flashed the android wear 1.5 port?
