Hi I unlocked my bootloader and flashed TWRP recovery and den tried flashing custom ROM. after flashing it gets rebotted n gets stuck at HTC logo. Im really worried. I tried pushing another ROM thru adb MIUI/CM n tried flashing.. Flashing shows succesful but gets stuck at HTC logo.
I have my backup of stock ROM in my PC but since i cant connect my mobile to pc i dont know if I can transfer my backup to mobile. Also I dont have sdcard slot so cant try that option too..

I shall be trying this for sure once I go home. But today I tried one more method found from link
But the problem here is I can't find the RUU for my device. After fastboot OEM lock , it shows the following
Details as follows:
ENRC2b_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.72.0000
CPLD-NONE
MICROP-NONE
RADIO- 3.1204.171.33
eMMC-bootmode : disabled
CPU-bootmode : disabled
Modem path : OFF
So what I understand is I need RUU as per Radio-3.1204.171.33 which I'm not able to get , any1 please suggest the solution.
Now since I have relocked my device I will have to unlock my device again , Flash Custom Recovery , SuperSu , Den Flash ROM/Kernal.
Instead of the method mentioned above is there any solution to go back to my old version with RUU. If yes provide me link of RUU for my verison

If you need to Flash your phone back because it is stuck at the ‘HTC quietly brilliant’ and not booting, you might be interested in this guide.
I had a long and painful way of googling and complaining about the fact, that HTC One X has everything and One X+ is never mentioned. However i found a solution. I will repeat everything here for beginners.
At first you might have waited about 30 mins or something like that for the device to boot, so maybe the battery is going to be over 30% which will be necessary. Maybe it’s not possible to load the device normally. Don’t panic there is a stupid way to do this.
Loading with laden.bat (which means loading)
You will need these downloads:
laden.bat, adb-tools
Extract the adb-tools folder found in the downloaded zip-file to your hard drive c:\.
Put the laden.bat into this folder. laden.bat should be in the same folder as fastboot.exe.
Go to command line by Start > write: ‘cmd’.
Use ‘cd..’ & ‘cd adb-tools’ to get to the ‘c:\ads-tools’ folder.
Boot your phone to FASTBOOT: press power & sound down, hold sound down until bootmanager appears -> select FASTBOOT
Connect your phone via USB
Now on the phone you can read blablabla… USB
Start the laden.bat
Now the phone will restart the whole time, and the battery loads during the time from start to bootmanager screen.
Please check the mV shown in the console, if they don’t go up to (3800-3900 mV) stop the procedure and check USB connection.
Relock the device
If your device is rooted, the boot loader was unlocked and this might be a problem so we relock it in this step.
HowTo:
Turn the device off
start to FASTBOOT like before
connect to PC via USB
go to command shell and switch to the adb-tools directory (like above)
in the directory you start fastboot.exe by -> ‘fastboot oem lock’
Reboot -> take a look in boot loader (at the top) if the device is now *relocked*
Using RUU’s to flash back the Firmware
You can find some RUU’s here.
I used the RUU_ENRC2B_U_JB_45_HTC_Europe_1.17.401.1_Radio_3.1 204.168.32_release_299688_signed.exe file.
This is a simple procedure:
Connect the device via USB
Your device has to be in FASTBOOT mode
Just install the exe File and follow the instructions on the screen.
:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
stop spamming all threads pls...
unlock your phone again.
flash cwm linked above
download cm11 on your pc and extract boot.img (kernel)
flash boot.img
go to recovery and look for sideload
transfer cm11 from your pc using adb sideload and flash it

Are you CDMA sounds like your on hboot 1.5? I dunno are you gsm or CDMA?
I know CDMA users make sure you have a copy of your recovery in your adb folder...
Make sure debug is turned on
Then when your in hboot
and plugged into computer using adb...
Type
fastboot boot recovery.img
This way you can flash whatever you want rom wise without taking the boot.img out of it... Also wipe before you go flashing...... This won't brick you... Only way to brick which is hard to do is you would have to flash the wrong radios or be in the middle of a flash or radio flash and pull the battery or your battery dies.... A brick is a useless phone that won't turn back on....
No such thing as a soft brick either lol.. Those are called bootloops or aka stuck on splash screen.... As long as your phone boots to Hboot your safe...

Seems to be conflicting information provided in the OP. Not sure the best route. Here is the information that seems to conflict, perhaps I misread?
1)If you're S-ON and LOCKED, I don't think you'll have access to use fastboot or any other HTC officially supported method of flashing the kernel. Normally, if you had previously unlocked the device to load a custom kernel and re-locked, it will show RELOCKED instead of LOCKED. Unless, you went the revolutionary route and then reflashed back to stock removing their S-OFF?
2) The kernel/boot partition will not touch the /data partition where (mmssms.db) is stored.
3) The device is pretty difficult to "brick". The common users you'll find claiming they have a brick, is generally due to their ignorance in not following proper directions to restore their device. Some find it easier to claim they "bricked" their device rather than do the proper research to resolve their issues.
4) The HTC splash screen freezing is generally either a bad/incompatible kernel or a bad/incompatible kernel/ROM combination. To fix either of this situations, the device will need to be UNLOCKED and/or S-OFF to allow write access to at least the kernel partition and, if needed, the system partition.
Hope that helps clarify some more!

based on what has been said in the thread, you can flash a new system.img and that should give you access to the phone even if it starts FC like hell, all you need to do from there is to connect via adb backup the SMS database and continue with wiping everything and installing a new ROM (after you unlock of course)
just in case: once you get the system.img you need, apply it by typing
Code:
fastboot flash system [x:\path to file\]system.img
That should help you out.

How can i flash the system.img? My phone isn't rooted or unlocked. It's totally original. Also, no way to get the debug or adb. The only connection I've got is the "fastboot usb" at the htc original bootloader.
Hopeless, right?

You posted this same question in a separate thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525176
In an effort to keep the threads organized, I answered in that thread as follows:
Background on system.img: The system partition is generally only distributed in the system.img format for stock system images. Most aftermarket ROMs perfer to distribute their system content in the form of an update .zip file.
Background on bootloader: The system.img can't be flashed until you unlock the device. This is a standard security feature on any device with a "locked" bootloader, as yours shows from the information you posted.
One option: Once the bootloader is unlocked, the command should be as simple as: fastboot flash system c:\system.img
Hope that helps. Good luck!

Not sure how many times this can be repeated or how many different ways the same thing can be repeated. Without unlocking the device, HTC will not allow you to selectively modify any of the partitions from the bootloader or fastboot.
With these three conditions:
1) Without unlocking the device
2) Having the device freeze on the HTC splash screen
3) Never having previously loaded a custom recovery
The only option HTC provides is to run the RUU which will return the device to 100% stock erasing all information currently on the device.
If you're able to unlock the device (condition #1), you would be able to either flash a custom recovery (condition #3), or a stock/new system.img which would allow you access to the device where you can retrieving the stored SMS and MMS.
Using the stock RUU should resolve condition #2, if it didn't, there could be a more serious hardware issue with the device.
I might have missed some aspect. I'm sure somebody will post up if I did.
Hope that helps make more sense!
I seem to have lost usb connectivity due to manual OTA update attempt. The update failed, eg. phone (HTC Desire X) is stuck in HTC logo and I'm able to get the phone into bootloader and / or JB stock recovery only. I have made a NAND backup before but due to non working usb, I'm no able to get a cutom (JB enabled) recovery flashed and the backup restored.
This is what I did and what the last step was in the OTA update procedure:
- extracted firmware.zip out of OTA_PROTO_U_JB_45A_S_Vodafone_UK_2.20.161.11-1.26.161.1_release_32010948zp4pcwih4w0ata.zip
- fastboot oem lock
- adb reboot oem-78
- fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (Note: I had to do it twice, 2nd time went fine without any error)
- fastboot reboot-bootloader
- fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
--> phone got unlocked but is hung in HTC logo after next boot in booloader / fastboot mode
Bootloader shows:
*** UNLOCKED ***
PROTO PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.25.0002
RADIO-1.15.40.04
eMMC-boot May 15 2013,22:09:49:0
:
Note: when I connect usb port to my PC (no difference wether Linux / Windows / Mac), it shows HBOOT USB PLUG / FASTBOOT USB but "adb device" doesn't show the phone to be attached
Stock recovery screen shows:
Android system recovery <3e>
Volume up/donw to move highlight;
enter button to select.
reboot system now
apply from sd card
apply from phone storage
apply from cache
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
:
<picture with red triangle and exclamation mark in the back>
:
Device_CW_Install: No CW files. Skip cw installation.
Given the above, it looks like the only possibilty to perform something is via sdcard. Is it possible to flash a recovery that way at all?
Any idea how to get the phone back to a working condition (without approaching a HTC repair center)?
Thanks for any help you can offer!

You need to use command 'fastboot devices' instead of 'adb devices'
Wow.. that is simple. Custom recovery back onto the phone. You made my day!!!
Btw, I have tried hard a couple of days, reading back and forth forum threads but that I would have never thought.
Do you know of a good pointer for beginners where to start with reading these very basic details when rooting, flashing etc?
Thanks a bunch for your help!!!

[SOLVED] Help Needed for Updating to 4.4.2: "htc_fastboot.exe has stopped working"
Hi Developers
I have a SIM-unlocked AT&T HTC One (32GB, completely stock, Android 4.3, Sense 5, modelid: PN0712000, cidnum: CWS__001, Hboot 1.55.0000, baseband: 4T.20.3218.13, S-ON, LOCKED bootloader). I have been trying to update the OS to 4.4.2 but I failed every time. Here's a list of what I did so far:
1. I tried the RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_Cingular_US_4.18.502.7_R10_Radio_4T.24.3218.09_10.26.1718.01L_release_356565_signed_2_2.exe. It starts OK but when it reaches 5%, an error "htc_fastboot.exe has stopped working" appears and the process is terminated. I have tried this on three different PCs (all with Windows 7 and proper drivers installed, adb and fastboot working) and all of them showed the same error. Suprisingly, RUU_M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_Cingular_US_3.17.502.3_Radio_4A.19.3263.13_10.38j.1157.04_release_334235_signed_2.exe runs just fine and I can reflash the 4.3 using it without any trouble.
2. I tried flashing the OTA update.zip via stock recovery by copying the update.zip on the phone storage, rebooting into recovery and selecting "apply from phone storage". It didn't work either. I failed to catch the error message showed on the recovery screen as it was very quick to exit recovery and start the phone in normal mode.
3. I extracted the rom.zip from the RUU.exe and tried to flash the rom.zip from fastboot using "fastboot flash zip rom.zip". It also starts to work but after some time (around 220 seconds) it shows "12 signature verification failed" error.
Could anyone please let me know how can I update my OS to 4.4.2? Thanks in advance.
OK, after two days of constant searching, I have found a solution to update the AT&T HTC One to Android 4.4.2 (Sense 5.5) from Android 4.3 (Sense 5.0). Here's what I had to do. I started from complete stock Android 4.3 (OS version 3.17.502.3), S-ON, bootloader locked.
1. I unlocked the bootloader by collecting the Unlock_code.bin file from htcdev.com.
From Settings > Power, uncheck the "Fast boot". Then turn off your device. Wait for a few seconds. Turn on the device with the volume down button pressed. This will take you to bootloader mode. Using the volume up/down keys, select FASTBOOT and connect your device to your PC using a USB cable. On the device screen, you should see FASTBOOT USB.
Now open a terminal window on your PC (I am assuming you have adb and fastboot installed. If not, search Google for "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" and install it). Type the following command:
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
On the device screen, you will have to choose YES using the vol up/down keys and Power button. This will unlock your device's bootloader and wipe your device completely. Your phone will reboot.
2. I flashed a custom recovery for rooting the device.
Download your favorite recovery. I used twrp-recovery-2.7.0.4b-m7-20140408.img.
Enter the bootloader mode again as described before. In the terminal windows, write the following code to flash the custom recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-recovery-2.7.0.4b-m7-20140408.img
Now reboot your device. Download your favorite SU binary zip and copy it to your phone. I used UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip.
Turn off your device and enter bootloader mode again. It should show TAMPERED and UNLOCKED but S-ON now.
Select RECOVERY from the bootloader menu. This will reboot the device into TWRP recovery. Navigate to the SU zip file and flash it. Upon completion of the flash, wipe cache.
3. I used rumrunner to get S-OFF.
Now that we have a rooted device, we can use rumrunner. Download rumrunner_HTC_0.5.0.zip. Extract it. Connect your phone (turned on) to the PC and enable USB Debugging from Settings>Developer Options. On your PC, from the extracted rumrunner folder, run the sojo.exe in administrator mode.
For rumrunner to run, you need to be connected to the internet (I don't know why). Also, the process will be easier if you - a) turn off all screen securities, b) connected your device to the PC in adb mode and fastboot mode at least once before running rumrunner (this will ensure if you have proper drivers installed or not). It will take some time for rumrunner to get S-OFF. Your device will reboot many times, don't worry, this is normal.
So, now we have a tampered, unlocked, S-OFF device.
4. I returned to Stock 4.3 ROM using RUU.
Relock your bootloader using the following command:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
I used the RUU_M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_Cingular_US_3.17.502.3_Radio_4A.19.3263.13_10.38j.1157.04_release_334235_signed_2.exe to return to stock. This RUU didn't give any "htc_fastboot.exe stopped working" error and ran smoothly every time. This will remove the "Tampered" sign, but your S-OFF will be as it were. This is what we wanted in the first place. A complete stock firmware/ROM with S-OFF.
5. I flashed the OTA.zip using stock recovery.
Now, download the 4.4.2 OTA zip file and place it in your phone storage. Reboot the phone in bootloader and then recovery mode. Clear cache from the stock recovery and then select "apply from phone storage". Navigate to the OTA.zip file on your phone and select it. After it completes the flashing process, do a factory reset from the recovery or the bootloader mode. Now, you should have a stock HTC 4.4.2 device with Sense 5.5, locked bootloader and S-OFF.

Thank you, Hafizimtiaz!!! Finally, I'm the lastest OTA with Sense 6!
Unfortunately I am facing this issue on both Win 8 and a brand new Win 7 too. I have no clue how to run the RUU. I used to use this same PC for RUU in the past. Now I get this error of HTC_fastboot.exe has stopped working. Any help appreciated.

If i go to RECOVERY or FACTORY RESET i go to Team Win Recovery Project v2.6.3.0
If i choose REBOOT I go to the REBOOT MENU
Then if i choose any of the four options which are SYSTEM,POWER OFF,RECOVERY or BOOTLOADER
Its says "NO OS installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?
If i swipe to REBOOT then it says "Your device does not appear to be rooted. Install SuperSU now? This will root you device.
Then it goes again to the "HTC quietly brilliant" and it gets stuck there
I got this phone from ebay so i dont know what they did to it.
Man , Just calm down. Everything is totally fine.
You said you're a complete beginner , so let me tell you some stuff first.
The screen you get when you press Volume Down and Power is the bootloader screen.
and TWRP (TeamWinRecovery Project) is the recovery. (Duh)
well the phone is split into partitions. You can say that the main partitions are for the system , data, recovery, kernel.
from what you've just said your system partition is empty. your recovery partition has a recovery installed , and the kernel cannot be empty so there's a kernel on it.
You get NO OS installed because the system partition is empty. and you get the root question because your phone doesn't have an operating system installed therefore it is not rooted.
Try clicking install zip from TWRP , if you find something on the sdcard that has a ZIP extension and that looks like a phone ROM (a firmware AKA the operating system) then flash it.
If the sdcard is empty then you have two choices
1) Flash the phone back to stock firmware
2) Flash a custom ROM on the phone.
Flashing a custom ROM will be easier for you since TWRP is already installed.
to flash a custom ROM , there are many detailed guides on XDA teaching you how to do this. But I'll tell you how to do it in a short non-detailed way.
The first thing you need to do is download a ROM for the phone. Go to the "One X+ Android Development" or "One X+ Original Android Development" sections of the forum in order to find a custom ROM that suites your needs.
Then you need to copy the ROM to your device , but since your device cannot turn on into system you can go to Recovery and push the ROM onto your sdcard . To do so , you need to :
1) Set up ADB on your computer (Search how to do that )
2) Push the rom ZIP file by using the command "adb push ROM.zip" (Replace the word ROM with the name of your ROM file.)
After pushing it into the sdcard you can flash it from recovery (Install it). If it doesn't boot after flashing then it is because you need to flash the kernel that comes with the ROM.
To do that :
1)Set Up Fastboot on your phone (usually comes with ADB , there are many tutorials on how to do that. )
2) Extract the ROM zip file using WinRAR or WinZip.
3) Open a command prompt
4) CD (Change Directory) into the destination where you extracted your ZIP file.
5) Reboot your device into Bootloader.
6) Connect it to your computer (duh)
7) Flash the kernel by using the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
then reboot your phone and it will hopefully boot into the system
I hope I helped , If you have any more questions then feel free to ask
and If you couldn't do this then I can connect to your computer on Teamviewer and help you set ADB and fastboot up on your computer
Oh , and to make flashing the kernel easier you can use hasoon2000's toolkit. It might help you a little Check it out : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994961
I am trying to install any ROM, recovery but no luck for 2 weeks!!!
It was unlocked via HTC unlock_code.bin. Now I can relock or unlock again with no issue.
However I could not install any CRW . So I have to install stock RUU, CID is VODAP102 German Vodaphone. main versiyon: 2.17.161.3 , hboot: 1.72.0000
I relocked via fastboot and tried to install stock RUU however it was lower than 2.17.161.3 and gave signature error. I could not find higher RUU.
Is this a garbage now ?

SOLVED: I pressed the left top part while recovering and it booted up recovery. Very interesting

If you already successfully unlocked the phone thats a good news. and please keep your unlock_code.bin for future use. Anyways if u can follow all the instruction given in this forum it's not that hard to solve your problem. there are multiple solution for the problem you are facing.
So, well i hope u can still go to the fastboot mode right? if u can then u can use the adb push functions to install a recovery in your HOX+. follow the procedure below to install a recovery:
Unlock the phone again like you did before.
install a recovery:
please download the files u going to need to install the recovery:
a) https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/enrc2b/philz_touch_6.19.3-enrc2b.zip/
b)http://d-h.st/rNC all credit goes to m0narx (team venom).
c)before you can do anything u must need to have adb drivers installed on your pc and HTC usb driver to get your phone when you are in fastboot mode. since u already unlock the phone i hope you have those.
i hope you downloaded the abode files needed
1. You need adb drivers installed on your pc and HTC drivers. once this process is done go to fastboot and connect your usb to the phone. your phone will show fastboot USB.
2. In the kernel flasher you will see a rar file containing many files. just unrar the file and go to the folder, you will see a file called VenomKernelFlasher.exe. open it as administrator . then go to manual tab...then only click on flash recovery image and uncheck other options... then click browse and find your philz recovery that you downloaded early(you have to unzip if its a rar/zip). then you just have to press start flash. keep in mind your phone must be connected in fastboot mode and showing fastboot USB before you press start flash or it will do nothing. there are sometimes the first try wont work. venom flasher may show you an error. but don't worry. press start fash again and you might see successful and you have a recovery in your phone.
now you can go to the recovery mode by pressing power+volume down key and then recovery.
If you successfully done the above process now you just need to install a custom rom in your device from philz recovery and have fun with your phone
I think your phone completely blank and you dont have any rom copied in your phone's memory. now only way to install a rom is go to philz recovery.
I am giving you all the easy proess so that u dont need to know any adb command.
DOWNLOAD this another useful software, WinDroid Universal Android Toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727916
a)go to philz recovery...then go to install zip....then go to install zip from sideload.
b)on the pc now you go to the toolkit then go to adb commands then press sideload ROM and a box will appear. then you just have to browse your custom rom of your own choice. and wait till it finished. there will be no progress bar. but in the toolkit when the process is done it will show you a message. also in the phone. wait for it to complete.
suggested rom:
Download Android Revolution HD 8.0 from here: http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html
go to htc one x+ section adn download both rom and boot.img.
AFTER YOU COMPLETED THE ABOVE PROCESS YOUR PHONE HAVE A CUSTOM ROM INSTALLED IN YOUR DEVICE. IF YOUR PHONE IS S-ON THEN FOLLOW THE LAST STEP TO SUCCESSFULLY BOOT YOUR PHONE:
now you going to need the boot.img that you downloaded....you have to push the boot.img with adb shell to boot your android phone.
if you know how to do it then fine. if not pm me i will help you out with this also.
