You need to be rooted to uninstall superuser as it's a system file.

Try running the ruu again, sometimes it fails midway but shows as complete
Update
I tried to do the same thing and you won't be able to use twrp if you do,
not compatible with the stock rom. On top of that, I tried to run the. 3.15
Ruu and it wouldn't work saying the hboot was not correct, however
both are 2.09.

Once I got the update and Samsung Knox appeared on my phone It said I had to disable it, well after following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758 it disabled Knox, but I have some sort of problem with updating the SuperSU binary?

I click continue then is asks if I want to use Normal or TWRP/CWM
I do not have a custom recovery, so I clicked normal. Then it pops up that it is installing
after 2-10 seconds it fails and asks me to reboot and try again
I spent 4 hours yesterday trying to get it work and searching the forums(and google) for answers. At this point I am completely stumped on what to do. Any ideas? Can I get back to completely stock somehow so I can try again? Or is there a way to update SuperSU?
I will be checking back this is not one of those posts where someone asks a questions and does not return

Give this a try while phone connected to PC, run "adb shell" command, you should see $ prompt, then run "/system/xbin/su", you see root's # prompt. Please verify this before we proceed further.
I ended up just flashing stock then doing it all over again and it worked. Sorry for the late reply and thank you
I managed to unlock my boot loader on my mac, though something went wrong and it wouldn't install Superuser. This is what I used http://htconeroot.com/htc-one-root/how-to-root-htc-one-windowsmaclinux/ . Then I used my friends windows PC and he told me to use, Hasoon2000's method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2242635) and it just gave me this error.

I've gone around for the past two hours looking for anything to help me install Superuser and achieve root. This is my first android in a year, so I might be misunderstood on anything that the programs do. I read and watched tutorials for the methods before trying, though I managed to mess up. Any help is appreciated on what to do next.

Did you flash a custom recovery yet like TWRP, CWM, or Philz? Once you do that, you can download SuperSU or superuser full zip and flash it in recovery and you'll have root.
Here is supersu:

Hi all,
I got a VZ replacement GS4 the other day and was lucky that it was still running 4.4.2 so I decided to give a go at rooting the device. I tried a few one-click solutions but none seemed to work. I eventually found a method on these forums([How-To] Root I545_NK1 - 4.4.2 (12-1-2014)) by muniz_ri that worked like a charm. Here are all my current info...

After gaining root access, I downloaded superuser, Titanium Backup and Rom Manager. First thing I did was back up all my Apps/Data with TB. I wanted to flash some ROMs before I did I went into ROM Manager to backup the current ROM and after the initial reboot I noticed it was not booting into CWM Recovery but what i think is the stock recovery and would show the android for a second and then it would show it "dead" with the error triangle above with the message "No Command". From there I just continued with the system reboot option 1.
I tried a few more times, same result. I even tried TWRP to try to backup the current ROM and I'm getting the same result.
Any suggestions on what can be going on?
I believe people said CWM and TWRP aren't possible for builds beyond MDK cause the bootloader is locked. I think you probably should use ODIN following this to return to factory NC5, get updates to NK1 and get root using this. I think the current way for rooting and backing up is flashfire? maybe you can use that for custom roms. Or someone comes by and corrects me for being dumb
New update here, but I am getting error (as phone is rooted).
I didn't find solution yet, how to update with keeping root. Didn't have time if someone else know solution please let me know!
Thank you.
Anyone would be nice enough to post a patched boot image for the new update?
It seems that not many people use this phone. They upgraded to newer models, or custom rom.
@bobimbap Doesn't stock allow what I do on CarbonROM after OTA: using Magisk to patch before reboot?

Sorry, I only played around with stock a little before installing a custom ROM.

the thing is that it recognize that bootloader is unlocked and it doesn't even want to start installation of update.

Ah yes, of course. I forgot that I'd heard people talking about needing to unroot, lock bootloader, update, unlock, reroot. Sounds like a lot of trouble. Sorry I couldn't help.
All good. I learned my lesson, never buy TMobile phone
I wish I bought global version and just put back cover from McLaren and call it good
