Screen Unlocking in Pocket - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just recently my phone has started to unlock in my pocket and when I pull it out there are tons of programs open. I'm running stock.314 rooted but been rooted for couple of months now with no issues.

Check if you have accidentally enabled gloves mode. Settings - screen - enable gloves mode.
Unchecked it.

That was one of the first things I checked lol. It's not enabled

Then maybe you have a rogue app. That enables your screen. Then it's easy for it to get unlocked. Just saying

Yes I've been disabling apps and testing. Still no culprit.

Maybe you have the double tap to unlock feature on and turning on while walking??

Or the dedicated camera button. I've had that happen to me a couple times where I pull out my phone and the camera app is launched.

Do you have any applications that wake your phone when getting notifications? Try disabling all your data and see if it still happens. And for a temporary fix, maybe put a PIN so you're phone doesn't just unlock

Yes pin or may be a pattern?

Screen shutting off

I've been having a problem with the phone where the screen shuts off by itself while I'm using it. Seems to happen right when I unplug it from the charger in the morning. I can power it down then back up and that fixes it, but has anyone else noticed this?
I'm not sure if it's an app or go launcher that's causing it. I was thinking of doing a factory reset to see if that does it and/or remove some apps to see if I can single it out but thought I'd check here first.
If anyone has any insight or ideas I'd appreciate it.
Yes friend ,seems this happens to my razr. But since I don't use any third party launchers , not sure why this is happening.

Good idea! I completely forgot about that setting since I first set up the phone. I've disabled it and will see how that goes.

Mine were set for 1 minute, but it would still shut off while surfing the net or checking emails. I'm hoping the above solution takes care of it.
Thank you both!

[Q] Automatically Enable/Disable Mobile Data

I've done a lot of searching and have come up a bit fruitless on this. I was using JuiceDefender for a little before it just decided to not work anymore(?), but I really liked having my 4G disabled when the phone was in stand by with the lock screen and turning back on upon unlock. Just wanted to see if anyone knew an app that did this specifically. I'm using Apn4Apps right now, but it's just not quite the same.
I'm developer of Apn4Apps.
There is no sense to enable 4G if you open your screen to use your notepad.
Apn4Apps enables the mobile data for your selected applications.
Why would you need to enable 4G when the screen is on?

I installed this app and it it is exactly for my requirement. But for some reason the data connection goes off almost immediately as it turns on after a selected app is open. I'm on ICS.
Also, what is the timeout?
Thanks

I have some queries to understand the issue.
What's your phone brand and model?
What's your exact ICS version?
Is the rom stock version or not ?
The timeout value defines the timeout value for disabling the mobile data (3G/4G) when the screen goes off.
As an example if your screen has a value of 1 minute timeout value and APN4Apps has a timeout value of 10 sec then your mobile data will go off after 1 minute + 10 secs if you dont touch your phone.
Hi
this looks like a great idea, but it's not working 100% on my phone, so here's some feedback:
Galaxy S2 on the latest CM9 nightly. It only turns on data for your own app and the google play store, no other programs work, and it never turns off data on its own. Some apps, like Rainy Days, make your app crash.

I've updated Apn4Apps. It includes ICS fix.
Please check it out on https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tr.caglar.android.apn4apps and send me your comments for CM9
I've updated Apn4Apps to 1.0.6 with deep sleep fix.
I'm waiting for your valuable feedbacks

How to stop phone from asking location consent?

So every time I turn on and off the GPS, I keep getting 2 location consent pop ups that I have to agree to. Is there a way to agree to it once and never have the popup again?

You can try this xposed module that disables the location consent all together. I haven't tried it myself on this phone but it worked for me on the S4

I have the same issue with having to give consent when I turn mobile data on/off. I can't stand it, if I want to turn data on/off from the lockscreen I have to unlock the phone and click ok.

I installed it and it has only taken off one of the two consent dialogs. So it's better than it was, but still not to gone as far as I can see
I noticed that if I refused to click on anything in the settings app when the consent came up it would keep coming up. After hitting anything in the settings app fixed it. Not asking for consent when turning on and off data.
BTW I discovered when I first got my Note 3 was allowing apps and Google to use networks for location discovery would drain the battery a lot. Just leave it to GPS if you need location info. Sounds strange but it works. I found GPS just for a General location does not use much battery. WiFi actually takes more juice. Seems to be the same on this phone also.

When I first started to use the G3 the phone would it would bring up a screen regard to the location settings. I am sorry I do not remember what it looked alike exactly. I just remember I would just hit the Home button and go back to whatever I was going. I eventually went to the Settings/General/Location screen and set my prefences there. After doing this I never got a screen/popup asking about location. It never asked me about location when turning off data. I did not try turning off data before adjusting the location settings.
Hope that helps.

5.1 update keep disabling mobile data

Hi fokls,
I recently updated to 5.1 ( Lollipop). I am on Tmobile and for some reasons, the mobile data setting kept getting disabled frequently.
Anyone knows what to do to fix the issue. I have tried pure stock as well as with root. None of them seems to fix the issue.

Just want to confirm, I have this problem too. Also on T-Mobile.
Edit: is it really just the setting that gets disabled? I have been rebooting to fix it.

Why don't you enable airplane mode and then disable instead of rebooting. It might work.

I tried that, it didn't work. I'm waiting on it to happen again to see if I can just re-enable mobile data.
Even if I can, this is still a very annoying problem. You'll miss a lot of emails, and messages. Yet another reason you might not want Lollipop

Its strange though. But if you go to the setting, then mobile data, you will see that it is turned off. Turning it back on, will re-enable it. I dont know why it does it though. No need for air plane toggle.
Is there any possibility this problem could be tied to a default power-saving setting that is turning mobile data off to conserve battery?
Just a thought.

I did two things, but I haven't had this happen since I did them.
1. Renamed HwPowerGenieEngine3.apk and HwPowerGenieEngine3.odex to disable them. (just add .bak to the end) They are located in "root/system/app/HwPowerGenieEngine3/" and "/<SAME/ARM/"
2. Enabled the option in Mobile Network settings to "Always-on mobile data"
Like I said, I don't know for sure if either really fixed it, but I haven't been having this problem for the past 2 days.
#1 . do I need root to rename the files?

yes, that requires root
I have no answer for you but, I am on T-Mobile and that's not happening to me. My WiFi becomes disabled sometimes/rarely. Also USB debugging gets disabled as soon as I back out of the settings for it. This is on B309.
My friend and I both using HAM2 on Wind, still on 4.3. Phone signal (not only Data) frequently turned itself off, then turned back on after a minute or longer.
Could it be the AWS (1700) frequency not reacting well to Huawei power genie?
I tried using "Normal" instead of "Smart" power saving scheme but no joy. Just froze "Power Genie" app via Titanium Backup. I think it turns the power saving feature off completely. Will monitor to see if it helps. I'll trade network stability for shorter battery life.
Apparently this problem is getting worse with Lollipop update.

How to disable lock screen?

I have an H850 running Android 6.0.1. I have Screen Lock set to "None (no lock screen)" in the Lock Screen settings, but whenever the display has been off for a couple of minutes I have to swipe away a lock screen. How can I disable it?

I've been using THIS app for years now and it does what you want (on the wifi networks you added). I'm not sure which of the versions in that thread I'm using (Universal or regular) though, it's been installed for almost 2 years
Just try them if you want :good:

Ah - no I'm not, just Swipe ... maybe that's why
I've also noticed that my lock screen appears when I close an app to return to my launcher (i.e. not just when the screen is turned off) - which is very annoying.

Maybe ask in the Smart Unlock thread ... I'm sure some smart people there could help you better than I can :fingers-crossed:
