Flashed a system.flashable while installing a rooted stock rom - my device is an sgp11 / pollux_windy / 16gb wifi model.
I tried to go back to CM because I liked it better, recovery tells me I cant because my device is a pollux. This held true also for omni rom.
I thought, fine I'll install the pollux version.
Recovery told me I cant because my device is a Yuga (which is the phone isnt it?)
How do i get it to think its a real pollux_windy again?! I've flashed several different stock roms, but I cant get back to CM

Hi everyone
My sister updated her MEGA OTA last month. She cant remember which version she was on. I am assuming it was 4.3. shes doesnt know much,
Her phone got stuck in bootloop.
Initially a got a hard time even getting into restore mode. however after a lot of goggling and trials and errors here is where i am today :
1- I can install TWRP and/or Philz recovery and boot into them.
2- I can enter download mode
3- I have tried installing many ROMS and different versions. I was only partially successful with 4.4 versions because I get a passed message in Odin however upon restart the phone enters boot loop again.
4- I have tried multiple wipe data/dalvik cache/cache and restoring factory settings but i still get the same results.
5- Only in Philz recovery i can mount the external SD card and copy zip files. I was able to root the phone that was (but im not sure if it still is). However all ROMs zip files I tried to install (both from PC and from extSD card) wouldnt open in recovery mode.
Because I get a passed message when I install a ROM from Odin , I dont know what the issue could be. But there is something wrong that happens as soon as this phone boots up.
I seriously do not know what to do anymore. I just need this phone to be working again. At this point I dont care about warranties/ROM versions/stock or custom...
Please help and sorry for my bad English
It sounds like you need to download the stock rom and flash it in Odin (you gotta put the phone in download mode to flash in Odin). The stock rom can be found on the sammobile website in the firmware section. That should get you back to square one (stock rom, stock recovery, no root). Then you start over from scratch.

Thanks
I did and I still get the same problem.
In fact after installing stock rom, i could not enter "stock" so I installed philz recovery, logged in philz and wiped cache a couple of time, did a factory reset.
and yet when i restart , the phone is stuck in bootloop.
Maybe she has a Galaxy Mega with a repaired screen. Starting with 4.4 Samsung only supports a digitizer with Synaptics brand chip. It's a big mess and there are countless screens and digitizers made worthless. I think unofficial 4.4 by Cyanogen and others might work, but not official Samsung. With some Galaxy Megas you get a bootloop. With others it boots however the digitizer and touch functions no longer work. I don't know how to go back after you are on official 4.4 because last I saw, there was no root for it. If I'm wrong, someone else please clarify and continue to help.
IMHO only one way out from such situation is try to flash MegaFire MJ2 which is derived from stock 4.2. It's only one 4.2 ROM which can be safely flashed onto KK.
Iformation about MegaFire you can find HERE
I've seen TWRP bundled with a new kernel, and I've seen TWRP bundled with PhilZ as a dual recovery, and both claim not to work with CM12.
I'm stuck with really crappy CWM recovery at the moment... crappy to the point that a factory reset doesn't always work, need to reboot into recovery a few times for the mount points to work for some odd reason... and also CM nightlies randomly just won't flash... this recovery sucks so bad...
Anyway, looking for TWRP as a flashable img, without all the other fanciness. Does anybody have this available and can help out?
Cheers!

hello,
I downloaded Flashify and I install with it TWRP (image), but I think, I downloaded a bad version, because when I restart my phone, It can't load boot screen..
- in 4.4 android I get error message: "error: can not load invalid boot image"
- in 5.0 android I dont get any info, it stops in boot screen..
I tried to change ROM (with full wipe), but it doesn't works (5.0 --> 5.0 --> 4.4 --> 5.0, etc.)
So I cant use my phone... Have you any idea? How I solve this problem? :/
thanks!
(sorry for my bad english..)
When you get into recovery does it look stock with the android there or does it show twrp.
If its not twrp you could use fastboot to try flashing a new recovery and then boot recovery after.
Then you could just reflash the fw you have before.
That could mean that you might have flashed the recovery img under boot.
Because you only restarted your phone and it just came up like black screen.
But what confuses me is you have went to 5.0 to 4.4 somehow and the problem still exists. Im wondering how you did that exactly, is it from backups or fw files from Asus.
If its the asus fw and the problem persists It might be the recovery and you might want to flash a different one.
The 4.4fw to 5.0fw should have flashed stock recovery again and the problem would have been solved. Only if you have used the downgrade fw and bootloader gets relocked
Overall its a weird problem
You could also try to flash cm 12.1 or 13.0 using custom recovery too if the bootloader is unlocked. And it should work just fine then you could go back to stock. You just might want to back up the data partition on stock then restore it after you get back to stock
Hello,
I just installed ClockWorkMod 6 (for installing CM11 later on like suggested here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583895 ).
The phone was already rooted when I got it and it seems there was a custom ROM on it as well? The start screen says: Rafael.Baugis Kernel.
And there it stays, it won't boot any further after I rebooted and followed this instruction:
http://techbeasts.com/how-to-install-cwm-recovery-on-galaxy-ace-s5830s5830i/
What do I have to do now?
Go back into recovery and do sth. there?
How can I still get CM11 running?
Or is it even possible/reasonable to get a later version of CM?
(Here https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Unofficial_Ports#Samsung_Galaxy_Ace_.28GT-S5830i.2FM.2FC.2F5839i.29 it only reads up to version 11)
Thanks
Chris
Any ideas?
Can I get the stock ROM installed somehow?
You are in the forum for S5830i (with i) but you linked the ROM from the forum of S5830 (withOUT i).
They are different, if you don't pick the right one you will probably brick the device.
What model you have?
I tried flashing the China ROM since the international one was having lots of problems using the simple local updates procedure since one user confirmed it worked perfectly, unfortunately it didn't work for me. It did seem to install but i'm stuck in the "Be Yourself" screen and the pictures screen as well. I can go in recovery mode but i didn't have TWRP installed. I think it wasn't a good idea since it went from Android Nougat (7.1.1) to Android Marshmallow (6.0.1)
I tried wiping all data in recovery mode but it keeps saying "wiping failed" even after i try to reboot it.
How do i fix this???

Is it possible to still flash the china marshmallow ROM after i go back to 7.1?
As the China roms of devices are banned Don the forum you will better off on the oem website.
Tried to change ROM on my Z11 to the Chinese version too .... and stuck in bootloop too
The only way to have a functionnal phone went to go back to the global rom (that hopefully I had on my computer), via Nubia recovery and OTG stick.
The error I got was that the phone was unable to mount /data and /sdcard, for unknown reason.

Since the stock roms are encrypted by default u'll have to try formatting first then u might flash the rom.
If u can unlock biotloader and flash twrp then it'll be even better for further modding.
