I used the service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) and i saw i have two numbers with the firmware, first 1278-4770 and another customized 1281-9709.
The first one i didnĀ“t found to which country belong, and the second one is US customized. So from what country is my firmware?
I ask this so I will know which new version i have to download
Thanks
You should look at the one under "Customization Version". If it's 1281-9709, then it's a Canada/USA unbranded firmware.

You can flash another country firmware. Just make sure that it is for D6503.

Last week I headed over to Sammobile and updated my latin american Samsung Galaxy Mega i9200 to different firmware, (Thailand) But I tried again yesterday with the newly listed firmware from China and it would not flash. Is there any particular reason China Firmware would not work?
Thanks

As long as it was also for the I9200 it should work, have you rooted the device? You may have to unroot and flash it.

No, it's not rooted and it was definitely for the I9200 and I had no problem flashing other firmware, so i thought maybe the China firmware was for a specific carrier? I noticed there is also a new Taiwan firmware, which I will try. There is also a Ukraine one, but along side that one, it mentions a carrier, so I assume that automatically means it wont work. Not sure, but I thought it would be a bad idea to flash one that shows the country & carrier in brackets.

What error did you get? I am guessing you are doing this in Odin on the PC?

Just flashed the Taiwan Firmware that was added today at Sammobile, no problem. Not as current as the China one, (MF3 vs. MF4) but it worked. Must be something I'm missing on the china one.
Hello,
long time no see!
Just want to confirm if it's still the same case or anything changed.
I have a Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 ( I9300XXUGMK6 "4.3 Android" ) from Germany. Now i want to flash a firmware from another country for example "I9300XXUGML3" 4.3 Android for GT-I9300 from Singapore. Is it possible or has SAMSUNG changed anything in their policies that makes it impossible? Used to be possible with Odin.
thanks mates !

At first, its the wrong section. This must go in Q/A section.
Second, Yes you can!!

I never skipped firmware baseband flash procedure. Anyway, I always flashed European firmwares...

I am from Portugal and here, like other counties, the updates have a delay... So, I always download the latest European Firmware available when it comes out in other country!!
The only noticable difference is the CSC version, each country has a different CSC and thus different bloatware, but that doesn't mean you can't flash another country's firmware that will work except with different preloaded software.
Apart from that try to pay attention to the "Changelist" number which is the build number (So higher means newer). When Samsung releases a firmware for a specific device some countries get a new build number while the others won't. So flash a firmware which has the highest "Changelist" number.
How can I check the "Changelist" number of the firmware?

Just check on which firmware you are currently in by going to service menu.. You have to press *#*#7378423#*#* and then go to "Software Info" and look for Customization Version section.
You may install any unbranded firmware which matches your model (D6503). Visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759934 for more info.

Thanks m8 Was the nordic =) Any benefits of taking any else?
Not really... Some customization numbers may get faster updates whereas some may not.
Most of the people including myself are using German unbranded as it's believed to get faster updates.
I have a sim unlocked Xperia 1 J8110, there is no such option in the settings for VoLTE anywhere, I tried doing *#*#4636#*#* then going on to phone information, but the VoLTE provisioned is grey'd out, is the another firmware I can flash?, Preferably unbranded as I don't want bloatware.
Edit: my device was previously on Vodafone before unlocking, does that make a difference, also my build number is 55.0.A.6.16

I've got Xperia 1 from o2. It was factory unlocked but branded to o2.
I've had to flash unbranded generic UK to get VoLTE and VoWiFi on EE.

The first to receive the updates usually are RU an UA regions, not UK... But J8110 firmware of that regions are not available.
