How come when I use a 2560 x 1600 wallpaper I have to crop it.
If I convert to 1920 x 1080 I still have to crop it.
Is there any way I can set the wallpaper without having to crop?

Sorry, the resolution for Tab S screen is 2560 x 1600 if you try the right resolution for your wallpaper dont need to crop

When you do set as wallpaper on a 2560 x 1600 you only get the option to crop.
Always had this issue on android.
Never mind though found a workaround using an app called image 2 wallpaper which works a treat.
I use this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ridgelineapps.simpleimagewallpaper choose wallpaper, simple image, settings, select image, back button, set wallpaper
Yeah, but since wallpaper on android devices slides when scrolling through left and right, you'll need 2560 x 2560 to cover whole background.

Hello. You would assume that the native resolution for 1 x home screen page would be the exact same size as a lock screen wallpaper at 480 x 800 right? WRONG!
I have tried to use Gallery, Quickpic, Just pictures all without success
I believe that due to the nature of having multiple home screens (active or not) Samsung have somehow managed to make it impossible to set the correct resolution for a 1 page wallpaper.
With Quickpic it will simply not allow you to select the whole image
With Gallery it does the same but gives you the option to save it as portrait or landscape both of which do not work
Just pictures is giving me the same result
If you don't believe me try it for yourself. Make sure you select an image that is filled with content, not just a small icon in the middle with a bunch of blank space around it.
It's seriously annoying me and makes no sense as to why the native resolution is NOT WORKING! and not even allowing you to select the whole of the image to be used as a home screen wallpaper. But if you use that exact same image and set it as a lock screen wallpaper it works PERFECTLY

Are you using default TW launcher? I have no issues setting a 480x800 wallpaper when using default launcher. Other launchers have the issues you described.

Whenever I apply a wallpaper, the quality is really bad as if the phone compresses the wallpaper and then applies it. It never applies the whole wallpaper, rather it zooms in on a section. I even tried downloading flikie wallpapers HD and applying it from there but again, the end product is a zoomed, blurry version of the picture. Is there any way to fix this?
you need to use the wallpaper of correct resolution like 1280 x 720 or 1280 x 1440.

you can try this app, it will at least let you choose a widescreen image without it being cropped...

Result is the same it still gets cropped when used as wallpaper.

NOPE!
If you use stock touchwizz: 720*1280
If you use modified scroll-touchwizz (with another gallery app): 1440*1280
Ive been trying to find out what resolution the android wallpapers are for the nexus 10.
I rooted mine today and found out where the wallpapers are located and the resolution is 3966 x 2560
Just thought id post for anyone looking for wallpapers or making there own
Strange resolution. Seems like we might be able to get even more detail out of the wallpaper with a greater resolution? I'd recommend taking a look at websites with wallpapers designed for multiple monitors to get something that large.

Resolution seems fine.
Remember, that when you set up the wallpaper, you only use the part of the image - you use the full height of it - 2560 - for portrait, and then for landscape, you use 2560 + something for scrolling. And remember, that this 2560+something isnt the full width of an image, so 4k x 2.6k seems about right.
(and i dont like that they dont allow to use full image for landscape and forces to use middle part of it....

Wallpaper wizardrii has a new update coming with 2560 resolution working. No cropping whatsoever on full resolution photos. Looks amazing. He'll update soon after I finish testing beta.
You wont really find any wallpapers with that resolution, go for larger resolutions that are more common like 5120 by 3200

I've found 2400x1600 fit perfectly, I'm writing an app to set wallpapers on N10, from what I've seen so far, it's setting them perfectly.

Where are they located?
The wallpaper are located in /system/apps then go to the launcher app and extracted it to wherever you want, then go to location where you extracted it /res/drawable-sw720dp-nodpi and the wallpapers should be there.
can you please pump the stock wallpaper out? i really like them but i flashed into PA rom..

Full size image resolution is 2880 x 1920 pixels. Displayed image resolution is 1920 x 1128 pixels in landscape mode and 1200 x 1848 pixels in portrait mode. In both modes, the topmost 72 pixels of the image is covered by the translucent menu. See Wallpaper Template for Xperia Tablet Z.

All of Sony's stock Android 4.4.2 wallpaper images are 2880 x 1920 pixels with a resolution of 96 dpi (a few are 72 dpi); however, only 1920 x 1200 pixels are displayed on the screen. Swiping left or right causes the hidden pixels to be displayed. Wallpaper images you install will be displayed the same way. Images smaller than 2880 x 1920 pixels will be stretched so a portion of the image is displayed on the home screen and the remainder of the image is displayed on the left and right swipe screens (I think I said that correctly).
