Package file was not signed correctly - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, i am trying this rom on my phone. It came with a pre-installed cracked version of Nova launcher.
I want to remove this version and install the normal Nova version, i actually have purchased Nova Prime.
But i cant.
I am completely uninstalling the cracked version with ROM Toolbox pro, but i cant install the version from Play store.
I get this message:
Package File was not signed correctly. Unininstall the previous copy of the app and try again
How can i completely remove the cracked app?

App install crash and installs another one

Hi,
for the app agile lock free you can download other apps to get points so you can get the full version.
But after i installed some apps and then removed them again. I just needed one more. So i downloaded it and tried to install it. But when it switched to the installing (after you pressed ok) android crashed. And i saw that another application was installed. So i removed it and tried to install another application (setCPU from this forum) and it did the same. Android crashed. Another app (the same as before) was installed.
How can i fix this? I trieded to remove of that exact application but it still installs.
don't install those kind of apps because that is what they do...i mean the dev ain't getting any money if he makes people download his other free apps...you will never get the paid version without problems

[Q] TeslaUnread rejecting unofficial 'Nova Launcher'

Hi all,
Successfully reflashed my Xperia U with CM9-ZIII. It looks pretty awesome and runs about 10 times faster than before. Nice work.
However I get this error message: "TeslaUnread rejecting unofficial 'Nova Launcher' Please uninstall it and install only the official version."
I have TeslaUnread version 2.3 (as in ROM)
When I try and update NovaLauncher I see "Error. Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again."
Am I the only one that's seeing this? Why am I seeing this? How do I uninstall and reinstall Nova Launcher?

This happens if U install Nova Launcher Prime out of PlayStore and Tesla works only for Nova launcher prime..
Check whether you have downloaded NovaPrime launcher from googleplay or installed form sd card..
If from SDCARD, no solution..
Well that was the thing I didn't install Nova Prime it seemed to come with the ROM image. Perhaps its an older version? It would be good if the ROM builder could reply.
The solution I eventually found:
Install a different launcher from Play Store. I chose Apex.
Install a file manager app. I think ES File Manager was the one I picked.
Using the file manager tool delete \system\apps\Nova.apk
Restart and download Nova Launcher free version.
TeslaUnread doesn't work with Nova Launcher free. I think it will if you install another widgets manager or something. I haven't got that far yet.

How to stop side loaded app from showing up in Google Play asking for an update

I'm running a Moto X 2013 (XT1053) with 4.4.4 stock rom and currently not rooted. For years I've use the gallery app called QuickPic. This app was recently sold to Cheetah Mobile, and I've decided that I just want to stay with the last version by the original developer and not update this app anymore. I uninstalled QuickPic from my phone, deleted the entry from the Play Store list of apps currently or previously installed, and then side loaded the appropriate apk for the version of QuickPic I'm interested in keeping. When I go into the Play Store, it is still showing QuickPic for update. I didn't think side loaded apps were associated with the Play Store. Can someone clarify or suggest a method to disassociate this app with the store.
Sideloaded apps are if their signature is the same as the one in the Play Store. If you search here in the forums, there are at least a couple of QuickPic 4.5.2 apks (pre-Cheetah) with different signatures you can download, or you can download & install the TBO Updater from Team BlackOut here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283828 and install the "Dual-Themed QuickPic" from Iced Venti Mocha in the "Main BlackOut Apps" menu.
Alternately, you can use Titanium Backup Pro to break the Market link for the version you have installed.
Excellent - thank you. I'll look for the alternate apk's. I have Ti Backup Pro, but didn't think it worked without root. I'll probably go back to root after doing the 5.1 update.
You would need root, yes. Here's one page you can get the apk from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-quickpic-v4-5-2-classic-version-t3204543
I think there is another but can't find it at the moment.

Side loading system apps

Spotify came as a system app on phone through carrier. Which I ended up deleting so I could install modded version. But when I try to install modded version is says app not installed is their any work arounds without root

How to force install an .apk file

Ok, so i got this free Samsung J2 Pro (SM-250F) from a company where i worked at. It has Knox Mobile Enrollment or something installed in it. I wanted to install .apk file but i can't give the phone permission to install application from unknown sources (the setting is grayed out).
I've tried flashing my phone with stock ROM but it's still didn't worked (the flashing worked but the Knox still there).
So do i have other way to force install the application?
Or the alternative. Is there a store apps inside Play Store that i can install?
Thank you.
