[Q] Rear speaker and mic issues - HTC Droid DNA

I've been struggling for a few months with this 2 issues.
The first and more important is the rear speaker. I usually have my phone in silent/vibrate state so I cannot be sure when this problem happened. But the rear speaker is so low volume. I started to think it was because I was running a CM based build, so I've flashed Viper, still low, flashed stock and still low. There's no distortion or anything like that, it's just very low.
The 2nd issue is that people complain a lot that they can't ear me well, so I assume mic is having problems too.
Is it possible to be software related ? If not, does anyone knows if HTC offers international warranty or some kind of service ? I'm from Portugal and bought this 2nd hand last year, have no kind of purchase proof. Only have phone+box

[Q] I have serious Call speaker problem with my S2...Help

Hi:
I just got my galaxy s2 today. The only and important problem i found so far is the Speaker ( the one we use for calling not music). I keep hearing the electric noise when i make phone calls. the noise disappear if i use the earphone. So, I am sure that something is wrong with the Speaker........
love this phone so much.
Can somebody help?
Thanks a lot!!!
Return the phone for a refund or exchange, the earpiece speaker is broken.
where was this phone purchased?
I bought it from clove
When I turn the volume down a bit the problem is gone.
It only happens when I turn the volume to max or one step from max.
Is that still mean there is a problem with my s2?
Thanks.

Does anybody know how to solve this?
this problem is still there no matter what.
Thanks.
Might be a dumb question but whatever.
Are you connected to edge/2g? Are you next to a computer/wifi router?

NO I am having 3g or H+ from rogers, Canada.
it mast be something to do with the speaker because If i use the earphone the problem is gone.
is it possible that rooting caused it?
root did not cause it, the issue was probably always there. i really wish more people would reply saying if they do or do not have the issue as well, so we know if its common to all SGS2 units, or you just have a specific defect.
As per request..
No I don't have this problem and have used the speakerphone several times.
No problem with my earpiece speaker or my speakerphone
Not here but I do get the headset issue...though that's another thread..

awesome, there are some data points. max volume doesnt seem to crackle everyone's speaker, so maybe a bad batch is going around.
My SGS2 ear-peace crackles on max volume pretty badly - sounds like something is rattling inside. If I put it one or two notches below max, the crackling stops.
I also purchased from clove and live in Canada.
I had this issue with a nokia years back. I ordered and replaced the speaker and the problem was solved. It could just be that it was not glued-snapped down properly and this causes it to vibrate. real crackling is caused by a distorted diaphragm in the speaker.
Anywho, I also was wondering if anyone else has this problem.

I'm afraid to say I noticed this on my phone today. Turned it down a couple of notches & the crackle could no longer be heard. Far from ideal. Will have to check with clove on next steps, and samsung australia on repair cost if done locally.
Yup same problem here. The local samsung service centre technician says there's nothing wrong with the speaker, I guess he's just lazy to look into it.
I'll send it in again to another samsung service centre to have another look.
no problem with my speakers, but sometimes the earpiece sound does seem too low when receiving calls even if i have it on max volume settings
Have the same problem... Like the earspeaker is distorting and vibrating. It starts just when I call somebody, when ringing.... Tomorrow I will take it to hospital
ok I got back my phone from Samsung Service Centre, after a second persuasion they changed the front panel (whole LCD including the front speaker, not sure if the back speaker too, I don't know the structure of the phone).
And now, it's solved!! NO MORE BUZZING when making/receiving calls!
Definitely go ask for an exchange or a change of your panel guys! It's a HARDWARE ISSUE.

[Q] Xperia u external speaker

hey guys, my xperia u's external speaker has became very low, and even the ringtone is not audible from like 5-6 feets away. i tried flashing stock ROM and the speaker volume improved a bit, (i know AOSP and CM ROMs have low volume) but its still not that ok. My guess is that its a hardware related issue, and in that case i should get the speaker replaced, so my question is, how much will it cost? and if i get it replaced with a duplicate speaker, will it work if i change ROMs? and if its a software related issue, what else can i do other than flashing stock ROM. Also, the speaker feels distorted apart from being very low. Currently using stock ICS. Thanks.

Low in call speaker volume

Anyone else having problems with in call speaker volume? I can barely hear the other person and this being my work phone, it's.. well, disturbing. I'm currently on dirty unicorns with squid kernel 1.6g, though the problem has been there prior to this also. Any ideas?
exactly the same here
CM13 surnia 2016-08-30 build
Do you guys found any solution to this? I have a XT1527 with the exact same issue on stock marshmallow, I did a factory reset and even take the phone to service where they replace the speaker and still the same issue
Same here. Motherboard got replaced because it randomly dropped sound (= speech sounded garbled), and it was very quiet afterwards. I got it to the shop again, they replaced the motherboard again, and it was again so quiet (so I guess that's the new standard)

How to Increase earpiece volume on Xperia Z2 (D6503)

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and a n00b, so please be gentle
I have an old Xperia Z2 which I bought in 2014. The phone is fantastic, and in complete working condition till now. I recently updated it to Marshmallow as well and it works without a hitch (in comparison to my daily driver - Galaxy Note 4 which went really sluggish with Marshmallow). However, I have a strange problem which I'm unable to rectify. The earpiece volume on the phone has gone really low. This problem popped up sometime last October (even while on Lollipop), and I didn't worry too much about it as I had my Note 4 as a daily driver. But I'm now using 2 SIMs, so I need this phone to work.
The sound from the earpiece has become extremely low, and it is impossible to hear the other person when outside even with low traffic noises. I've tried tinkering with all settings/methods available, shutting off the noise cancelling mic, trying to clean the earpiece grille, performing a hard reset, but nothing helped. However, the volume is fine when playing audio through the speakers (I'm not sure through, I assume that the earpiece doubles up as a speaker - I may be wrong). Everything is fine with wired/wireless earphones though.
Is there a way I can tweak anything to make this better - I mean, all I want is the earpiece volume to be loud enough to be usable. The phone has been out of warranty for a long time, so I'm fine with rooting it. However, I'm a n00b (as already mentioned), and I need some guidance on how to do it. Also, I'm a bit wary of taking it to service, as firstly the phone is out of warranty and repair would cost a bomb surely, and secondly - I don't want to mess up the water resistance (not that I dunk it in water, but it's a nice to have feature).
Can anyone please help me out with this? Also, does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks
if you are rooted and have a working recovery try this audio mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...-dontbelive-marshmallow-stereomod-v1-t3366065. It increases the speaker and earphone volume and i am using this mod on my z2 this is great.

**HELP NEEDED** Speakerphone/Microphone Issues :(

Hi Guys,
After almost ditching this phone recently due to several frustrations I recently took the plunge and installed [OFFICIAL][7.1.2] Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 with OMS by gwolfu.
So far it seems fantastic and I've managed to resolve the slow charging issue by updating the bootloader and modem to the 20V version and flashing the qc-typhon-h850-M6 kernel.
However my device is plagued by an issue where calling is virtually impossible, which is kind of an error seeing as the G5 is....ya know.....a phone.
When I try to make phone calls I can barely hear the person on the other end (i've checked the volume) and if I turn on the speakerphone they can no longer hear me. Even if I turn off speakerphone they can't hear me anymore after activating it.
Does anyone have any ideas how I could fix this?
It's literally driving me insane that there's such an amazing, smooth ROM which has extended my battery life something crazy but it's plagued by such an annoying issue.
Any help would be HUGELY appreciated
Bump?
I have a similar problem with LineAgeOS 14.1 on my H850 :/
I have a problem where mine doesnt work on the main mic, but as soon as I turned on speakerphone then the other person can hear me. Its very headache inducing because I use telegram and it uses the main mic therefore recording voice is useless. I literally took the plastic shell off of the part that everything with the charger, speaker, and mic is located and nothing blocking it.
I got the replacement module for the g5 and that still did not fix it. I dont know what to do.
EDIT: I just now found out that after taking out the motherboard, there was a red sticker covering some golden connectors, after taking that off fixed it. No idea why there was a red sticker there but please check and if it is there then take it off. itll be on the other side of the motherboard..
