Bootanimation - Watch Dogs - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hey guys, back giving it another shot at a bootanimation. this time i got a little creative because i'm having trouble thinking of ideas. but i was downloading some HD wallpapers for my note pro 12.2 and came across a few images i liked and got the idea to create an animation just by doing a pan across the still image. it actually came out pretty nice. so again, these are just from still images, it kinda looks jittery, i did the best i could with it. i'm sure some of you fans will appreciate it. i don't even play the game, lol. let me know what you guys think. thanks
so below are the previews (speed and size are different for previews) and download links. inside the zip you will find these files:
bootsamsung.qmg - move to /system/media/ and change permissions to rw-r-r
bootsamsungloop.qmg - move to /system/media/ and change permissions to rw-r-r
PowerOn.ogg - move to /system/media/audio/ui/ and change permissions to rw-r-r
shutdown.qmg - move to /system/media/ and change permissions to rw-r-r
BOOTUP ANIMATION (it is set to loop, but my phone boots up by the end of the first cycle):

boot animation problem
Hi,
I'm having a problem changing the boot animation on my note 3. I've done something wrong and I don't know what to do. First it's a sprint note 3 rooted running 4.4.2 stock, with a build that ends in NC5, es file explorer, cwm 6 recovery. I first tried to load it with boot animation, root and all that happened is that the sprint part of the boot animation went black since then trying different "flash able" boot animations I've lost the Samsung part of the boot animation, so now it's only the Samsung splash at start up the black then the phone starts. I did however manage to get one of the shut downs at the end. I've also tried to do it manually by extracting zips into the download folder and moving the files to system/media and changing the permissions to RW R R with no success. Different resolutions, downloaded software to try to do it from my pc, Now I'm ponding my head on the desk because I can't figure out what to do. Can you advise me on what I can do to get this right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

first off you need to be rooted, i'm guessing you are.
and i own a verizon note 3, but i think for the sprint note 3, the files might be named differently.
edhoward said:
Actually there are three files. system/media 1. SPR_bootsamsung.qmg 2. SPR_bootsamsungloo 3. SPR_shutdown.qmg If you delete these the sprint logo goes away, I would make a backup first. I have deleted the files and replaced them with the backup with no problems. Then I flashed something else and the sprint logo quit.

[BOOT ANIMATION] Star Trek computer display with a Android twist

This is a boot animation featuring the Star Trek computer display. You don't have to be a "Treky" to enjoy this boot animation. I got away from the official terms and put in Android system stuff instead.
***After years after I lost this in a HD crash, someone mirrored it. AWESOME!***
Please read and learn where to put the bootanimation.zip file before attempting. I am not responsible for your mistakes.

I'm personally not going to use this but I can't help applaud you on this creation. Looks to be very well done and worthy of being on many phones.
Just set it up on my phone. Very cool looking and of course the android twist makes it even better. Thanks for the work....and sharing it with us.

Get Root Explorer from the Market. Then put the bootanimation.zip to the /system/media folder. Then long press on the bootanimation.zip and pick change permissions. Then just match the picture above and pick OK. Exit, and reboot your phone and you will see the boot animation.

can this be done with a stock 2.1 rooted vibrant by pushing the file to system media with root explorer ?
Is there any way to change the speed of the animation? I tried changing the first line of code in desc.txt to 480 800 10 - which i thought would cause it to play at 10 frames per second, but it doesn't seem to have any effect
edit: nevermind - got it working
Hi,
your boot animation is pretty awesome, but I have had some issues getting it to work on my vibrant. I am currently running cm7 and the Bali kernal. I have been unable to change the permissions on the .zip using root explorer in the folder you identified. I keep getting the message that the file is read-only. Could you give me some guidance please?

in root explorer, you have to mark the folder as r/w (read/write) as by default it's marked r/o (read only). Once you do that you should be able to change permissions.

From my experience, use the Bali kernel will not allow you to run custom boot animations. You will have use some other kernel like Immortality or SuperDragonMod.
No!!! He said he is on CM7 Nightly ....I am assuming. Do as the previous post says. Change to R/O

Nice job indeed sir,
But doesn't work on my samsung s5660.
I did everything bij the letter, but no go.
I got two boot files, bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsunloop.qmg.
So i believe those two overrul the bootanimationzip......
Wat does work is that i have chanche some audiofiles, even on bootup ( no longer that loud samsunggingle, but a nice windows 7 tune...........).
Please, could you reupload your file? It is not on the megaupload. Thx a lot.
Actually I lost the file. If anyone has it could they uploaded it somewhere?

thank you!
it's a little grainy and pretty laggy on mine, but i love it and have been looking for this anyway.
EDIT:
I resized it to 1024x512 to fit the NC screen better (now smoother and less grainy!):

Just edited the txt file. The first two figures are the two resolution values. You have to make sure to save the zip archive without compression, though, if I remember correctly.
Is there a reason the animation always plays portrait?
Can I force it into landscape somehow?
Thanks!
it is just based on png images. you would have to rotate all the images manually and recreate the archive. the png images are 512x256, so i'm not sure how you would get it to look good landscape. it would either: (1) take up only a small part of the screen; or (2) you would only see a small portion of the animation.
(unless you mean the little letters spelling out ANDROID before the honeycomb animation, which is not part of the bootanimation.zip file.)

i have used root explorer on my phone but not on the NC yet. how would i use it to change the boot animation. i'm on nookie froyo (from internal) 0.6.7, but i don't think that would have an effect on the boot animation, right?
thanks!
Rename the file bootanimation.zip. (Not sure if this is necessary on all versions of Android, but it was for me on Honeycomb.)
Copy the file to your SD card.
Insert your SD card into your Nook.
Open Root Explorer and navigate to the file you copied onto the SD card.
Long press on the file until the menu comes up and choose either COPY or MOVE.
Navigate to /data/local and press the PASTE button.
Reboot.
thanks! gonna give it a try today.
anyone have a video of it?
I loaded this as instructed and it just kept rebooting the animation and never would load. I had to reinstall Honeycomb just to get it working.
Loaded and replaced file that came with autonooter 3. booted up with stock NC screen...

Which version of Honeycomb are you using? I wrote my instructions (a few posts above yours) as I was adding this boot animation to my Nook Color running Honeycomb eMMC 2nd edition. It works fine on mine. Although it doesn't even get all the way through the animation before it's done booting.
Just curious but has anyone gotten this to work on the sd version of honeycomb, I renamed the file to bootanimation.zip and pushed it to /data/local/, it did not show at boot just stock android boot screen, anything I'm doing wrong?

Boot Animations ported for Atrix!

Hello all.
I found some boot animations that I really liked, so I decided to port them for our Atrix.
All credits go to Dysgenic for creating these (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905538). I just changed the values in desc.txt
Also thanks to CaelanT for showing a noob how to zip these correctly
I tested most of these on stock 2.3.4 , so let me know if anyone has problems getting them to work on another rom.
Rename the files as "bootanimation.zip" and place them in /system/media. You can do this with ADB or a file explorer like root explorer.. or if you are cheap ass like me ES File explorer. /system must be mounted as writable to be able to write to the correct location.
Personally I do this.
1. Place bootanimation.zip on sdcard.
2. open ES file explorer. Go to Settings> Check mount /system as writable.
3. Cut bootanimation.zip
4. Paste in /system/media. Click ok to overwrite old boot animation
5. Reboot
Enjoy!

I personally got it from absolute system tool. The developer is always adding and updating. You can change Res and fps. Its 2 bucks in the market and you can choose from over 200 boot animations.
I'm having a weird problem changing my bootanimation on my atrix. It has android 2.3.4 and I have rooted it and am using super manager file explorer to copy and paste from /sdcard to /system/media but when i reboot i only get a blank screen in place of where the bootanimation should have shown. The phone does boot up all the way and does work properly but when it is supposed to show the bootanimation.zip the screen just stays blank.. i even copied back the original but it still wont work. weird... any ideas?? I also tried "bootanimation utility - lite" from the market but still same issue..
discovered in making your own bootanimation.zip file that you dont use any compression on the zip file. thats why it wasnt running.. the zip file is just a "store"..
My favorite is still this one:

+1 for this. I had the same issue with it. I'm using Ubuntu to zip my file and I think that was the issue. Gonna try it on a virtual machine to see if that's what the issue is. I'll be sure to share it when I'm done. It's a nice simple Scott Pilgrim animation for all you fans out there.

[BOOT ANIMATION] Orange Theme

I edited this boot animation for my Bionic, but I believe the Razr and Bionic have the same screen resolution so I thought I'd post this boot animation here too. Head over to my original post for more details here

Credit to user fluxgfx for posting this sweet boot animation in the first place here and to user mtemal who posted some videos of his tweaks of this boot animation here.
Final note: there is a part of the animation that says bionic but it is very easy to remove those frames from the animation.

If you are rooted you can install your own boot animation. You can either push the bootanimation.zip file into the correct location with an ADB or you can keep it simple like me and use a file manager to locate and replace the original file. I use Root Explorer. Additionally you can extract your original boot animation before you replace it if you want to save it for later. I'm not on stock ROM but I believe folder location doesn't change. Try looking in: /system/media

I didn´t - I have installed a number of bootanimations, so pretty confident I know, what I am doing. Copied it to system/media and set proper permisions.. after restart phone would bootloop continously with com.android.phone crashing continously.
I had to boot into TWRP to delete the bootanimation.zip via filebrowser and phone worked normal again.. so something incompatible with VANIR rom at least.

Has someone tried this on CM11? Imho, all Droid boot animations are way cooler than...pretty much anything else Especially the bland cm11 one.
