Can plz anyone tell me how to change location to install apps from phone storage to SD card because my phone storage is full, plz help... I used Motorola driod razr m xt907 ...
You can change some apps individually by going into settings>apps and chose migrate to SD
This will put it on fat32 partition which will for sure be a bit slower than internal data
If you are rooted then you can install any app you want to SD, if you make an ext4 partition to install it will be closer to internal storage speeds but still a bit slower. (Note although any app could be moved in this case there are many that can perform very poorly there)

You had posted in link2sd forum too. Pretty simple google search and you have this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783806 I think you mentioned your on 4.4.4? So if you read that thread. It will take you to towelroot. You can get your phone rooted first. Then move on to installing link2sd and freeing up some space on your phone. Anyway as in your other post. Getting the phone rooted will be the first step to other things you asked about. Good luck.

what i did was put gingerbreak.apk file to my external SD card on my Atrix 4g and opened it with ASTRO app... then it did all the work and rebooted... downloaded root check app to make sure it was rooted...also make sure your internal memory is not mounted because you will loose the apps you installed, found out the hard way since im also new... but lucky for me it was just a few apps
so...how to unmounted the internal memory? thanks
to unmount go to settings, then sd card & phone storage and then go to unmount internal phone storage
Hi! I have a rooted S3. Was wondering if there's any way to install apps & its data to the SD card instead of internal memory.
in cwm/advanced/create partition then choose size, voila

hi all i have been very annoyed with sonys attitude to getting the sd card mounting wrong even after speaking to them online and over the phone i got the same reply ... this is not a fault with sony this is something you will need to contact the app devs. unhappy with this i tried fixes found on the www all came up with the same problem it all works fine on the phone but not on pc so after a bit of work i think i have a solution
the vold.fstabs in the /etc needs to be tweaked as with all others on the net but this one works with the pc as well.
has been tested on my device if you replace it with the file attached (root access required ) after renaming original to .bak .
reboot device if you get sd error on reboot please delete and restore orginal and post your finding
please note i am not a dev i have some knowledge but just a hobbyist
i hold no responsibility MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP

Hi.
Is this a bug on all Xperia GO?
I don't have any issue with my SD card on my phone, everything are working like it should i believe.
Could you please explain what kind of problem this is? The SD EXT card i believe is the extra memory card you insert into the phone. If so, i don't have any problem with that one.
Thanks in advance

this is a problem with all go and as far as i know all xperia 2012 phones where the internal memory is partitioned to system and user the user is then mounted as sd card meaning that after 4gb no more app data can be installed etc. this means that you SD CARD is unusable for apps and app data (apps2sd) will try to install to sd card but go to internal memory

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32965824#post32965824
but not working. Now everything is ok. Thank You very much!
Uhu, I messed up.
I did everything you said, but right after restarting, some apps (usbotg, media service etc) stopped working and some apps as well, I think they were in internal storage.
One thing, as you were saying, the ext_sd will be sdcard and the sdcard will be ext_sd?
[Xperia Go] are the mountpoints the same in JB?
If I switch my internal and external sd mountpoints using ICS, will a upgrade to JB using SUS overwrite the(modified) vfold.fstab?
Isuspect the upgrade will unroot the phone
can i use in xperia go JB st27i? i tried, but unsuccessfully

My device is (samsung galaxy S3 - odin rooted )
any solution? thx in advance
I think your /sdcard is internal memory. The /mnt/extsdcard is external memory. If you removed your external sdcard do all your files and stuff disappear or are they still there?
If you are rooted I think you can change where everything gets mounted or maybe change it in your boot.img.
Also, it's not for nothing. Consider this an educational journey into the rich world of rooted phones.

First thx and about stuff disappear , no i can still see them whenever i use usb cable or any
its my first android so am new to expressions (your boot.img)
its ok just wanted to have more memory cuz my empty memory is 700 mb :S right now
and am using the factory rom ( maybe i have to setup rom so it can work?)
about education am afraid to educate on my s3 maybe i have to buy a cheap one until i learn how to use
thx again bro
Since you are rooted you can install a custom rom that has no bloatware. You'll get more space because it will only have the apps that you want

Hey everyone,
Very recently, my rooted P769 on Jellybean (20f) isn't letting me install any applications because there is no free space. But that isn't true - I have 560 MB free on my internal SD! At first I was down to about 150 MB free, but I couldn't install any applications then, so I deleted some applications and cleared some data so now I have about 560 MB free, but I still can't install one small 5 MB application! I haven't done any app2sd (I only have 2 GB free on my external SD so there would be no point anyways). I also have CWM recovery 6 by artas but I haven't installed anything with it recently. Any help? Maybe there is a way to modify build.prop to allocate more space for application data?
Any help would be really appreciated, because I can't install any application on my phone right now.

Try checking your clockworkmod/backup folder on your internal sd card. if you have one or two in there it will make a difference. Transfer those files to your SD card. Sounds like you need a new sd card as well. Get a 16gb one from Wal-Mart for like $15! Once you get your new SD Card then follow this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44683922#post44683922
Good Luck!

I don't think you understand my problem. I have 560 MB of free space on my internal SD, but I can't install any applications because every time I try I get an error that I don't have enough space, regardless of the size of the application. I should be able to install a 5 MB application if I have more than 5 MB of free space. I have a 32 GB class 10 external SD card (and I have a couple CWM backups on it) but it's almost full so doing Link2SD isn't realistic, not to mention the many problems that Link2SD has been known to cause. If somebody has had this problem before, where they definitely have enough free space to install applications but their phone tells them they do not, I'd appreciate some assistance.

I had this problem once, I've read that that the system could not remove an app or something, sorry but the only way I fixed was by restoring a cwm backup. I spent a good while trying to solve it, but nothing I found worked.

I had this problem with a different phone once, when I believe I tried to install and uninstall the same app for a lot of times, it finally refused to do so. End up flash the whole ROM.
You could try uninstalling the last few apps you installed or fix permissions before you dump the rom

I hope that your 5mb application is not TitanBackup and you are not having LuckyAbcxyz in your phone! If you do, that's the source of your problem, and you can see if all the time and troubles you got worth the pirated stuffs...
If u are using remount SD to switch ur ext sd with ur internal SD then u need to make a folder called external_SD in ur sdcard0 folder after u use remountsd to switch storage.. if not, then I say u need to use remountsd and use jb settings to change ur storage.. if u want I can link u to the instructions post of remount SD
Sent from my LG-P769 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Download remountsd and OPEN it.. (must have root) click on the wrench settings icon and input these mounts to their respected places
JB Settings:
Interne SD - /storage/Sdcard0
External SD - /storage/Sdcard0/external_sd
Target external SD card - /storage/sdcard0
Reboot ur phone and when finished media scanning go to ur storage and see the changes. I've experienced if problem before and I had to not only hard reset the phone I also had to flash a cwm backup stock of my current Rom
IF remountsd doesn't work right away u need a fresh install of Rom THEN try remountsd. Remountsd is a Definite for switching storages
