Hi guys und guten Tag!
Recently I buyed a secondhand EVGA Tegra Note 7 Tablet. It is rooted.
Now I'd like to "unroot" this device and to make a complete new installation of the firmware, the OS and all Apps which was installed when this device was new.
Is that possible? I'm a complete newbie and I have no ideas about rooting and all that stuff.
My English is not the best (as you might have noticed). So does anyone have a simple guide for my intention? Any other hints are also helpfull.
I just want to bring my Tegra Note to the "very beginnig", with no root access and withe all the pre-installed software like this device were new.
I hope there is a solution. It seems like german communities don't have one, at least nobody there answers my question.
So come to you to ask for help.
Thank you and many greetings from Germany!

Problem solved
Hello!
It's me again!
My Problem is solved. I used the "Super Tool" by rootjunky for the TN 7 after contacting the user Tomsgt here.
It worked perfectly! :good:
Thank you a lot again, Tomsgt!
This thread can be closed now.
Bye!

Have to tell yall, the UI and Olivettis version of Android 2.2 is absolutly horrible, its so slow and you cant customize it.
Olipad
Hi all,
I am a newbie and I come from Pesaro (Italy) and I am a geek girl
I bought Olipad two days ago.
My disappointment was not finding android market on it but "SlideMe", Olivetti's market for tablet.
I'm studying xda forum since 2 days for apply rom.
Now Olipad is in service because usb port doesn't works
I have to try it hard because I think that after rom coocked apply, warranty is void.
Someone would suggest me a good configuration? (link to this forum is gladly accepted).
I have a question: first of all I must root my Olipad, after that I can mount my system in r/w and go on with procedure for installing rom, isn't it?
Thank you all.
i´m getting an error when trying to install cwm:
e: can´t mount /dev/block/mmcblk2
(no such file or directory)
i tried cwm from the internal memory.
greets.

this is the Viewsonic GTab thread and as I know the Olipad is almost the same tablet ...
cheers
Hi,
I have an Olipad and I did a LOT of experiments with it. It is ALMOST as the GTAB, but for some design choices it is not easily upgradeable to other roms.
I have managed to flash quite some of the ones around for GTab, but at the very beginning I did something wrong (most probably I got fooled by the "harmony" nickname found inside) and I screwed up the boot process.
Before someone does a full NVFLASH backup of a "brand new" Olipad with no mods, I would suggest utmost care in flashing / update processes as the device could just loose BOOT capabilities and just power up in APX, forcing the owner to boot in a terhered way (launch a program that then allows the bootloader to boot)...

Simone

?!?!?
Hi there,
so ... no more Olipad 100 here or Olipad in general?
I sold mine 2 month ago because:
1) Olivetti went for Olipad 2 after 2 months they launch Olipad ... no good for users ...
2) Olipad was really weird compared to other Asus/Motorola choice ...
Anyone tested Olipad 2?
Maybe this thread has to be closed ...

ICS on Olipad110 Medion Lifetab?
Hi there,
recently got an Olipad110 for free from a supplier of mine. The hardware itself isn't bad at all, although not the most updated out there.
There's nothing more that the red "O" coming from Olivetti, in fact it is manifactured by Quanta in Taiwan and was originally sold by Medion in Australia with the name of "Lifetab P9514".
I have found a rooting procedure that works, allegedly: http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/medio...on_lifetab_p9514_root_rooten.html#post1927511
And I have also discovered that not later than past week Medion has released an update to Android 4.0.4 for its product line, which is exactly the same as Olivetti's.
So my question is... if I bother to go trough the rather discouraging rooting deal, will there be a way to modify model's identifiers in order to get the Medion's ICS upgrade?
Cheers!

Hi, you can get the update here: cdce . ams002 . internap . com/tapntap/medion/Lifetab_p9514.20120719.2-ICS-signed-ota-update.zip
and apply it by following these steps:
1. Copy .zip to internal or external sdcard
2. Put the Olipad110 in Recovery mode (switch on the table by pressing Volume UP + POWER)
3. Select "Android System Recovery" option
4. Select "Apply update from external storage"
5. Select .zip file in the sdcard
Good Evening,
I understood that each device has different ways to get rooted.
If that is wrong I am sorry.
Now... I have a Vodafone 845 and saw great apps on market only for rooted devices.
Normally I would like to have those.
I surfed the xda Forum and found some discuss about this device but root links are to x10 (sony ericsson I believe).
Because of my understanding that confused me.
Anyway, I am dummy in android and did`t understand a lot from those procedures.
My request is: would you guys please make a step by step guide for dummies (with simply english) like me in android?
THAT WOULD BE GREAT!
My devise characteristics are:
Vodafone 845 ( Huawei U8120 ?)
android 2.1 update 1
baseband version 2210
kernel version 2.6.29-perf
locked in Vodafone Romania.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Respectfully.
Wonderful
This is absolutely great!!!
So many advice, so many guidance!
I really can`t choose between those.
Seems that my post is written with invisible ink!

Hey bro I just saw ya post now, I too have a vodafone 845. What you must first do is root your device using superboot, and then you need to pur a custom recovery using amonra recovery. Our device is synonymous with the u8120. If you search for any roms dealing with u8120, you can use it on this device as well. You should connect the phone via usb to a win7 pc and then follow the directions on how to root etc. These directions can be found on the page that deals with Fresh Zodiac Fruit by Cedric. If you follow these directions to the letter you will have no problem rooting your device and installing a custom rom. Once you have a custom rom on, I would advise installing rom manager from the market. Once Rom manager is installed, flash Huawei Ideos 1 recover image. Then put cm7 u8120 slyking on your sd card and flash that, it is, as far as I am concerned, the best rom for this phone nowdays. When you got some experience using and flashing roms, download v6 supercharger and play around with that, you will be amazed at the results. Anyways bro, just remember vodafone 845=U8120. Once you got this, searching is easy.
THANK YOU
Thanks Bro , I just saw your reply.
Just when I lost any hope of a reply.
From your reply seems a lot of trouble to root my device.
I rooted my phone and now of course I got a bigger problem.
From the moment I bought the phone I hated the calendar,
so I tried lots of calendar apps from the market and stopped the search when
I found aCalendar which suited me excelent.
yesterday after I rooted the phone I erased the original calendar.
This morning when I tried to open the aCalendar ...surprise,
the app didn`t open and the screen shown: OnCreate|NullPointerException null şi apoi OnResume|......
I restored to factory settings and nothing ... same message.
Would you help me please with that?
Or some guru, PLEASE HELP.
Hello developers.
First, I swear that I already searched all the forum posts for my device support (Sharp SH930W - Japan smartphone) but there are none.
I can't find the way to root my phone and of course I can't install ROM (if available) for this phone too . I know that this is not a famous smartphone but it running Android 4.1.1 and have all the standard apps, the phone is quite powerful itself (dual core, 2Gb RAM, 5inch IGZO screen)
If there is noway to root it, perhaps help me to toggle fullscreen mode (hide status bar, bottom bar). I tried many app on CHPlay but all of them for rooted device or older Android version.
Please help.
er, emergency. Please Help?
Got this phone in Thailand... Some help with rooting would be greatly appreciated
Edit: the SHBreak tool might be useful, but I haven't figured out how to use it - bit.ly/ZPh6An (can't post proper links yet, sorry)

I am waiting :good::good::good:
So, right now the situation is:
SHBreak didn't work
Bin4ry's root didn't work
No flashable custom recovery available
Can't extract stock recovery (to get started with CWM builder)
How are we supposed to get started? Probably by finding a proper exploit, but I can only wait for that
Bin4ry said that his root won't work (I checked out on the pre-FeelUX firmware as well) and I still haven't got an answer from the guy responsible for SHBreak. Maybe somebody who speaks Japanese could help in the communication process

Not entirely sure this is the correct place on XDA but here goes,
I bought a couple of Chinese Android phones and in general I am pleased with them.
I did however buy a HDC Storm MTK6589 1.2 Quad-core and asked for it to be with Danish language and off cause it is NOT !!
Are there any in this forum who has a HDC Storm OR a Firefly II (which are the same phones) who can cook or modify their ROM to a rooted, multi lingual, debloated and GooglePlay capable ROM ?
I can flash it using "Smart phone flash tool" OR CMW ( with step by step instructions as the CMW is in Chinese)
I bought this cheap phone for my 10 year old son and he is very pleased with the big screen but I am disappointed that I can not get Danish on it for him.?
By the way, I did try the ROM available on the "NeedRom" web but there is only one available and it is also without Danish AND it has a lot of Chinese on it as well.
Note: if I am in the wrong place in this forum then please do not hesitate to move it to the correct place.
Thanks in advance
Robert
Still nog CWM on HDC storm?
Hi Robert,
Did you get any further on your HDC Storm issue? I have th esame phone and also the problem that i dont have play store . .

Hi Patrick,
I did get Google play on the phone but not all google apps? I still can not get an English ROM without the Chinese??
Also I can not get Danish language on the phone.
Some games keep crashing on this phone as well???
I feel a little disapointed about the lack of support for this phone but I guess that is what you get when you try the cheapest....
This phone I bought for my 10 years old son and he seems happy enough.
I can NOT remember how I got the GooglePlay on it but I did try different ways? try to read HERE and HERE
hope you also have luck...
Robert
Hi all. First of all i would just like to say that i very much appreciate all you guys do here, helping us noobs flash, upgrade and unbrick our phones
I have a rebranded inew V7 phone called NOA H4 in my country. I'm pleased with the phone. It's nicely built, robust, has plenty of storage, dual sim, ... One thing i miss is the led notification. But i can live with that.
Recently i got fed up with it's software, Android 4.4.2 and i started to look how i can change it. I found some guides and tried but no luck. I was only lucky not to brick my phone
I have some questions:
1. Is it at all possible to flash this phone so it has Android 5 (or 6)??
2. Are the Android 5 roms i found on the web real Android 5 or a modified Android 4?
3. If 1. and 2. are yes, will this http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-how-to-port-lollipop-based-roms-t3223938 help me to do this by myself??
4. Is there someone who already did this and is willing to share :highfive: ( i found that some member "did this" but he has not given a link to download the rom thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/inew-v7-owners-thread-t3036891/page3)
Ty very much.
No one? :crying:
Hi there . I managed to get CM12 android 5.1 using Celuk from Turkdevs rom and recovery. I put a guide together with all files. PM if you want to give it ago . I will upload .
