So I really want the Galaxy tab 10.1, but why pay extra for the 32gb if the 16GB has a microSD card slot internally eh?
So thats what I want to know - does the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (ebay item: 110756156438), have a micro sd card slot INTERNALLY so I can crack it open put a quality 32GB card in and seal it up again?
Highly unlikely.
I'm pretty sure there is not a card slot inside. It's just like all other android devices that specify internal and external SD. The internal SD is hardwired. I'm not sure why they call it internal SD and not flash memory or NV memory as it only adds confusion. The best thing to do is get the 16 GB and buy the OTG usb host adapter on Ebay for $7 to connect a USB hard drive (that's what I did). Not worth an extra $100 for the 32 GB version IMO.
Damn you samsung, I can live with ALL the shortcomings of the Galaxy tab, but not the exclusion of a Micro SD card slot. It's a deal breaker - not just because I can add more storage but because should it get bricked I can grab my files from the SD card!
Then wait for the Toshiba AT200.
Or the Transformer 2?

Not this thread again. About 2 months there was a big debate about this. It ended when someone opened up a tab and confirmed there is NOT a slot internally.

Doesn't this come free with the tablet to begin with? I got one inside the box, so maybe they started including it later. Never used it yet, but I think this is what they threw in with the tab: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/EPL-1PL0BEGSTA

I just got mine last week from Best Buy and all that was in the box was a wall charger, usb cable and earbuds. The adapter you linked to was on the shelf next to it for $20.
It would love to take this thing apart and see for real. Im sure you could mod it to accept something bigger

Thanks for that dude, those pics were very helpful! I thought because the 10.1v had one (or some say it did), maybe the 10.1 would aswell for those not afraid to crack it open.
My bad it's not a simcard slot.

That's strange, over here (in India) it was a part of package i.e. the adapter was inside the box. Both me and my friend who bought the tablet about a week apart got one.
I didnt get one. :-(

Did anyone have this card reader for note 3. I'd love to buy one, but one of the main uses would be to backup photos from CF & SD Cards to the 32g internal, whilst we are travelling.
Wow, this looks cool! I hope someone has tried it and it does work for us. Thanks!

I just ordered this one from Amazon for $12. It has the USB port on the other side and it's a 16 GB. works perfect.
Here's the link if you want to check it out.....http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GXYKWBO/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That's why I said it looks cool. I'd rather hear a real user's experience than rely on the manufacturer's possibly faked video.
I'm curious to know if it can support more than 1 devices at a time (the video doesn't show that). Like, can I have a SD card + USB drive both plugged in, and transfer data between them, or SD Card + a mouse at the same time etc.

I placed an order on it today. I will post my feedback here.
I won't use anytything large extending from imho fragile µUSB B port in fear of accidentially damiging it.
Thats why I use an extension cable where a 90° connector just barely extends from the Note e.g. DELOCK 83104 or if you want no cable DELOCK 65473
Then add a Delock USB2.0-Stick with micro SD Slot. They are available from 1 GB up to 32 GB (DELOCK 54276).
Together its not larger then the various USB-A & µUSB-B Sticks, but safer for the Notes fragige µUSB-B port.

Was very skeptical about this because of the low price, and not branded.
I tested it with a Samsung Galaxy Note III phone. i plugged the SD card from a camera, and it detected the card and let me view the pictures.WHEN IT DETECTS THE DEVICE, A MSG APPEARS ON THE TOP LINE.I tried an 8 GB thumb drive. i was able to see my Word docs. I opened one with QUICKOFFICE, and it worked great.

I think this is what you are looking for.
http://www.meenova.com/st/p/m3r.html
I *think* you will need to be rooted to use it (I am rooted so I can't tell if it works w/o root)
Works great for me.

I can't tell you for sure since I had stickmount installed before I received my meenova. All I can say is... Perfect solution. I have my 64gb SD in my meenova on my keychain, so whenever I feel like doing a backup, it's right there. FolderSync is a nice app, too. On top of that, TWRP supports OTG, so I can do my backups straight to/from the adapter and don't have to use up 3gb of my internal storage for my latest backup.
Bottom line:
Love it.
Now Dash Micro
The Meenova has been retired in favour of the extremely similar looking Dash Micro.
I'm pleased to see these ship to the UK so I am going to order one. The lack of an SD card slot in the N6 almost put me off it. One of these will be useful.
Stickmount is required for the Meenova Dash Micro. I had hoped it wasn't necessary, no big deal though. Before this, I had a 64gb Sandisk Dual USB stick which worked well but also required Stickmount.

Corsair Voyager go works well.
I bought the Meenova after I got a Nexus 5. It's one of the best accessories I have ever bought. I haven't upgraded to the Dash Micro yet. Now I'm using the Meenova with my Nexus 6 paired with the Stickmount app and it's a match made in heaven!
Hello good people,
I was so happy, that i can use Nex9 like Linux Desktop, because i used Nex7 (2012) like that.
Bigger screen, bigger experience. So i happily bought USB OTG, connect and....nothing.
Tried mouse, keyboard, two kind of OTG cables, HDD, two kind of Flash Disk's their formats etc...
I tried everything rooted, unrooted from 5.0 to 6.0.
Can u help me or explain me the situation?
Thank you sweet devs (no homo)
Still hoping.
Adam
Did you tried different USB OTG adapter? I tried pc mice, 3 USB sticks, 3TB HDD and everything works, no root stock Nexus 9
Translated with my own brain to English

I just tested with a USB flash drive and my Audio DAC, and both work great.
Did you find a solution? im having a similar problem with my Nexus 9, it recognises the USB but NOTHING plays back, i just get play back errors.
Im using a USB OTG cable with a 32gb flash drive, both Nexus media importer and other file explorers display the contents but nothing plays back at all
SOLVED!

Hi! Yes, i solved this. Upgrading to 6.X (CM) it was first thing that works for diagnostic. Second thing is the OTG cabel. YOu have to use special OTG with electronic. (i personally call it expensive and cheap OTG) . Thats it. I hope that i helped you. Because i was very sad in your situation.
Sorry for english. I am from Bananastan

Has anyone here used one of these?
I use my tablet for just about everything so I'm always worried about running out of space.
But with this I could add so much storage space with usb drives, and an sd card.

I have been using OTG to transfer files from and to my galaxy devices and it is working very well
But the sad news is that our note pro cannot give enough power to portable HDD ( the ones i used were 1Tb and 2tb, on my note 3 and my note edge they work but not on the note pro)
You can connect flash memories and anything that consumes low voltage like a mouse or a keyboard or a flash memory

I'm not looking to connect hdd's.
I already have planned what I'm doing.
First of all I'm gonna find some way to strap it to the back of the tablet case, and then, I got 1 for now, ultra fit usb flash drive, which will go in one of the usb ports.
I got a memory stick pro duo adapter which I can slot two of my micro sd cards into, and then stick it in the otg.
And then one micro sd card in an sd card adapter to put in the sd card slot. :3
This thing makes no sense. It's great yeah, but it's weird, it can have three flash drives or usb devices running at once, but when it comes to cards of any kind, you can only use one at a time, even if one is in a usb adapter, it still won't allow two.
It makes no sense, usb all you want, but cards only one. Why?

Maybe the adapter requires extra power that the note pro cannot give
Can you send a picture of what you have and how you connected them to the note pro?
I will try it and see if i am having similar issue
Sorry, just came across this post. Here are several methods I use; a 128Gb Sandisk USB 3 thumb drive [http://a.co/9OVzdu5 ] and a USB 3 OTA adapter [http://a.co/jfMs2Yq ] along with the 128gb micro card in the device. If you need terabytes, get a wireless battery powered portable hard drive [http://a.co/fzM9ZPi], it works on mine. I also had a spare 240gb mSATA card from when I replaced my laptop drive. I bought a case for it and use that - the tablet has enough power to use it. Finally, I have connected a self-powered 2 Tb desktop drive with good results via the OTG cable. It just takes a while when opening your file explorer. Last, but not least, you can connect to your NAS via WiFi [ I use QNAP, and have accessed it from everywhere that I've visited that had good inet speeds via the QNAP apps]
Do you have more info on QNAP? Where to get it for instance? Is it in the Play Store?

QNAP is a hardware vendor for Network Attached Storage units - look on Amazon or NewEgg. I got the empty 2 bay one and loaded some spare drives I had laying around so I have 2 Tbytes mirrored now. Their apps allow remote access for files, music and movies to their devices.
