Hi,
I had recently "lost some pixels" in my Sony Xperia due to a fall - they are all located on the top of the screen.
On the one hand, nothing serious has happened and so the phone is fully functional.
EXCEPT for the top row of pixels, where (thanks to the developer tools) there is no response - It doesn't
identify me touching the screen there.
I'm looking for a simple app that simply lowers the notification bar when pressing it. That's all.
I actually found some (i.e.Open Notification Bar app)
but for some odd reason, they all require internet access.
Why would anything like that require internet access?!
Can anyone supply a simple apk that does the minute and simple action of opening the notification bar via app icon?
Thanks.

Hi all.
I'm trying to the following for months now:
You know that most of the tablets with android 3+ have this large black bar at the bottom. I'm not sure how it is called but I mean this bar where the clock, back and home button and the notification icons are on.
On the middle area of this bar there is always much space depending on the number of notifications on the right.
My idea was to use this space for shortcuts to apps or tasker tasks. Just like in windows the Quick Launch Toolbar on the task bar.
But until now I haven't found any solution.
Here is what I have:
I'm using tasker scenes to build my own shortcut buttons. Then I displayed these buttons as always on top and half transparent directly on the screen in the normal application display area. It seems that tasker is not able to display these buttons over the system bar. So this isn't a complete solution of my problem since the free display space on the bar is still not in use.
On the other hand I do know that it must be possible to program apps which are overlayed on the system bar since other apps can be placed over it.
Anyway...
I'm searching for a clean solution to get shortcuts on the system bar to start apps or tasker tasks with one click or touch.
Please help if you can or just post if you are also like to see such a solution. Maybe an app developer picks up this idea.

I would also love to see this solution!
Hi all
My status bar keeps freezing randomly (either when pulling down or that I can't at all) and I must restart SystemUI From XHFW to make it work again, although something borked the Restart SystemUI function
Can anybody help?
The notification panel and statusbar still functions normally, just that the graphics get stuck halfway (invisible layer of statusbar and notification panel)
Also, my Google Keyboard does that too, except the keyboard resizes to an extremely small size and moves to the top left corner of the keyboard area, but I still can type by pressing the original locations of the keys.
More info please..........
Are you rooted?
What are you running?
Did you do all required wipes and formats?
Kind of important my friend

Howdy, folks!
I've been using Android for a long time, and one particular behaviour bugs me. I've spent about a week googling around, sifting through the forums, looking for hacks or an Xposed module, and I can't track down anything.
When a new notification fires, the top bar momentarily shifts to show a preview of that notification. It might be as simple as a title-less notification that some app has turned itself on, or it might be a preview of a new message from some application. Regardless of what the contents of the notification are, the whole top bar momentarily stops displaying all of its icons, the clock, and anything else in order to show some of the text from the notification.
I'd like to stop this behaviour. Let me clarify; I don't care about modifying the contents of the notifications, I don't care about what shows up on my lockscreen, and I don't want to block notifications from showing up at all. I just want them to simply appear in my notification center and for the top bar to simply *poof* have another icon in it for the new notification.
I haven't been able to find any leads on this anywhere. I don't know if it's worth my time developing a little app to try to block this behaviour, or if someone has done it already. If anyone has suggestions, I'd be thrilled to hear them.
I'm using a rooted Galaxy S5 G900V on Verizon, running AllianceRom's KitKat release, though apart from the root access I don't think any of that should matter.
Thanks!
I have an IPcam App called SYSD that keeps 2 annoying icons on the top left of my LG G2 phone, I dont like them at all.
But I need the app to be always on, because it is very important as it should always work, it rings when a motion is detected.
Is there a way to hide these icons without causing an interference in the running app?
Any help? Problem with no solution?
Nothing ?
At all?
You can use something like AOSP Status Bar, but you'll need to root your phone I believe. Any mod that allows you to disable persistent notifications is what you're looking for. There are various options and they're usually specific to your phone model, but that's what you're looking for.
I want to disable the notification shade entirely as its very irritating mid game. sometimes even pulls down the whole notification area since I use claw many buttons near the top of screen.
google only give solutions to disable notifications not the bar itself.
im currently unrooted and on stock rom don't mind unlocking and flashing if necessary.
I use full screen mode with gestures not buttons like shown in screenshot, enabled for getting using screenshot shortcut only (by long press back button)
