Could someone tell me what Liquidsmooth is based off of. I've read in someplaces that it says CM, while some say AOSP.

It is based on AOSP as mentioned here on their website, "LiquidSmooth is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project.
Dedicated to providing users with smooth, stable and fast ROMs. A Lightweight modified AOSP base, and then add the features you crave." AOSP is used as the base and then many CM features (Theme Chooser, etc.) are added in as well.

You could have Wiki'ed them anyways
AOKP (Android Open Kang Project) is an aftermarket custom ROM for many Android devices. A solid AOSP base with a multitude of features has made this ROM grow rapidly in popularity since it was first released in November 2011.
The Android Open Source Project (AOSP), led by Google, is tasked with the maintenance and further development of Android. If you find a custom ROM that is based on AOSP, that means it will be closer to the original, vanilla Android created by Google rather than the bloated software created by Samsung, HTC, LG, and Motorola.
Basically they both a ROM's

Is there any ROM not based in LineageOS at all?

Other than MIUI of course .. (Snapdragon Variant)
Anyone know if there is a ROM not based in LOS? I still don't understand this quite completely but as far as i know some ROMS are based in AOSP some in CAF like ParanoidAndroid
(or at least thats what they say in their G+)
But recently i have seen that they are actually based in lineageos even if it says CAF based or AOSP.
Maybe i'm making a fool of myself by asking this lol but i just wanted to know ... overall my goal is to use vanilla stock android with no traces of lineageos/CM.
AOSP is the "vanilla stock" of android OS.
MIUI, EMUI, ZenUI, Samsung Grace UX etc are so-called as "custom overlays", meaning, each of their Software devs used AOSP from Google to just simply design, add functions, tweak or customize it as their own recognizable UI.
Thus also the same as LineageOs devs too.
As for custom roms, SlimRom for me is the most close to stock. Overall everything start in AOSP as basis.

AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

Aosp - the stock vanilla android code which Google provides. It's nothing and without any feature in itself.
Lineage - They modify the aosp source code according to themselves and add features like customisation, advanced reboot etc. Usually they replace googles code with their own, thus making a difference.
Gzosp - kinda same to los and they add their own basic feature like advanced reboot etc. But their additions are less than los. And they don't really modify the code.
All of the above serve as a base rom. But since los is much more modified it makes a rom itself. You can actually use a base gzosp rom but it won't have that many features like los in the begining.

Gzop integrate from CAF as well and probably that's the reason why its relatively smoother than LOS or AOSP base roms
