Hi,
I wanted to see the whole file system of my phone. I have already rooted it.
This is what I want to do :
I have installed an app. by the name "Printershare". It is, as the name says, for printing. When I connect a printer to the phone, it downloads some driver pack from the internet. I want to check what it downloaded (All the files everything in the 'Driver Pack'). But when I connect my phone to my system, using samsung kies, I can only access the phone data and not the data internal to the apps.
Is there any way of accessing everything on the phone?
NOTE: Phone is already rooted.
Thanks
-Sahil
Download a file manager on your phone like ES File Explorer or something similar. Those usually allow you to browse to root directory after gaining superuser privileges.
Or if you want to just view them you can install terminal emulator and do a
Code:
cd /
Well via a pc I dont think there is a method to access system partitions...but if you use ES file explorer ..you will be able to access all your system files through your phone itself....but be careful not to delete any important files in the system good luck
hope this helped
use adb shell

If the app you installed is a normal apk file....and I mean if you installed it like normal....some of the app data will be in the data folder of your root ....that means you need to go back up to the root folder...then you will see a folder called data....go into that folder and you will see many folders....there are two important folders....one again is named data...the other is named app....but please if you dont know what you are you better not go in...as there maybe risks to the system....
/data/app
/data/data
these are the two pathways of the folders
good luck...hope this helps
SIII data folder
SIII application data folders are here
/sdcard/Android/data
and
/sdcard/Android/obb
obb is common used by large HD games like those from gameloft.

I have flashed a sony based rom some time ago and I have noticed that the sony sample pictures cannot be deleted from the gallery, even using root explorer or file explorer fails to remove them from the system. If anyone has a suggestion or solution please let me know.

just a thought, when using root explorer did you mount the system as Read/Write before deleting pics?

Yes, I mounted system as Read/Write and tried other file managers. Root Explorer is the only one that says it cannot complete action, the others says they are deleted but the thumbnails remain. In the gallery they can be deleted but they reappear the next time it is opened.

I'm sorry, but I'm not really familiar with your device so, I cannot further suggest anything specific.
don't know if this'll work, how about placing a .nomedia file in the folder which contains those pictures?
I was removing files to free up my device when suddenly everything got deleted!
at max i remember there was a file with something like storage/sdcard0/. i think that must have been the some sdard shortcut or something but i was already inside the sdard! and i didnt even create it! it automatically came up!

First you need to calm down, and give some more details of what happened and exactly what did you do for it to happen, what software do you use (e.g Root Explorer) etc..
/storage/sdcard0 is the mount point for internal strorage on the root file system, it is always there.
Are there any files inside /storage/sdcard0?

What have you deleted, /storage/sdcard0?
Is it still there? If not create
All files are probably gone if you done so, but there are file recovery apps you can try, search Google Play
A couple of questions,
I used to use this app on the HTC One (M7),
-i was able to create folders and move files around
-also had an option on some websites including facebook to download via 'ES Downloader' when i clicked on a video.
now on the Z2
-creating folder and moving files around is not possible anymore, am using the 'File Commander' app that is preintalled to do so
i needed this function as the Z2 internal storage is just not enough, have to move media files to the SD card.
(have seen somewhere that KitKat has stopped this function on the ES app, this true?
-no option of the ES downloader to download videos anymore when i click on a video, it just goes straight to playback.
i'm not sure if its the KitKat thing, because my HTC One was on KitKat also when i was able to do all the above mentioned
and feedback is greatly appreciated
TIA
****Both devices are NOT rooted
You need to root to write on SD card with ES.
to clear things up
both the devices are factory without root
HTC probably did something to make it work. KitKat issue though. Only file commander seems to work like u said.

Edit - must have pocket dialled this somehow haha

You need to edit the platform.xml file under system/etc/permissions/ in order for any "USER" app to edit the external SD card.
This is a KitKat issue (not Sony).
Google for instructions.

hope that clears it up for you.
Because i download quite a few videos, and those apps initially have the download content on the internal storage, being this phone only has 16GB, it's now such a pain
i'm no android system pro and really not confident in editing or changing any of the factory settings, i probably will just carry on and do the download then use the File Commander to move the content from internal to SD
Hi all,
I have my Onda V972 for about a year now and it works great but since yesterday I cannot make new folders or copy other folders to my internal sdcard.
I was working with "Ofline Browser" and on a given moment he just stopped copying webpages and said "Cannot find .....".
I checked the r/w permissions with ES File Explorer and all is well.
I can make a new file or copy one to an existing folder but I cannot make new folders or subfolders.
Anyone knows how to fix this?
John
specs:
Onda V972 Core 4

Firmware v3.2.1_v2

Yes, I tried several file managers.
I can make new folders on it from the PC.
Just to be clear: It is about my internal sdcard, my external sdcard works fine!

Yes I am sure, it just happened without a reason.
The stupid thing is that everything works fine but when an app tries to make a new folder or subfolder it says that it can't find the file.
Thats because he couldn't make the folder.
Strange huh?

I was considering this but I couldn't make a copy or backup from this disk so I would loose everything on it.
Finally after a few days trying I managed to connect to the PC and I simply repaired the disk from within Explorer.
All works well again now.
Thanks for the help and thinking.
