OTA is being evaluated, the current system should notify you of updates available on the website, but won't currently shut up (it checks every 12 hours, not an issue if your current, but if you aren't it gets annoying)
i've been using this rom for a while and it is fast, smooth, full of features and scores 20k+ Antutu.
i would recommend you give a download :good:

i'll be checking this out, could you guys try and import the Latest ART Master from: https://android.googlesource.com/platform/art/+/master. It would be cool to see this rom outperform even velocityrom and others, will try it with my kernel when I have time.
Also, I was wondering if you guys could import Pocket Detection from hammerhead, to use the proximity sensor to keep phone from turning on while in pocket, this would work great with Double Tap 2 Wake
Has anyone else tried this ROM? I have twice now, and it doesn't seem to flash properly. Apps you can see inside the zip do not show up and it looks like plain stock. Flashed with TWRP 2.7 & 2.8. Curious why, would love to give this a run.

A: Team OctOs uses SuperSU and is installed automatically.

Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
Log file APKs
Team OctOS recommends SysLog from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.

Shamu has been different from the get go with regards to the notification lights. In fact the phone (as you know) shipped without them. Initially only light flow was able to activate them. Now the code has been activated within the ROM but its not very customizable. I am looking into options that would allow me to implement in the ROM so far though I haven't found much. But I assure you it's a pet peeve of mine too!

Hmm.... This is taking quite some time to install.. Flashing file 1 of 1, it's been probably 10 minutes
EDIT - Had to hard reboot back into recovery and reflash, worked fine. Loading up now.

Notice there are not a lot of pple trying this. You should. Don't be but off by the "testing" it's the best cm12 based rom for reliability I've used. Try it and see!

Well we were in the final testing phase of a new release and Google went ahead and started releasing 5.1. As a result we are working on incorporating that into our ROM which will take a little more time.

Thank you for the kind words. We are always working on bettering our product. We were all set to release another build with more features but as we were in the final testing phase 5.1 dropped. In addition to that we just rebuilt gerrit from source. As a result our release was delayed. We will get something out to the masses as soon as we can.

As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-M.
Q: Superuser or SuperSU?
A: Team OctOs uses SuperSU and is installed automatically.
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
Log file APKs
Team OctOs recommends SysLog from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.

The Oct-M ROM installation script will automatically wipe /system, /cache, and /data/dalvik-cache. There is no need to do these before or after flashing the ROM unless you are instructed to by your GApps Provider

P.S. the included DPI of rom is set to 560. Sometimes I change to 540 DPI. Shrinks the nav bar just a tad. Just know it changes everything, not a lot though.

I know things a relatively early, but my first impressions of the ROM is very impressive. Everything works(at least for me), and it is supper zippy.. The ui is super smooth...personally, I'll be playing with this one for a while. Great job devs....

-Battery life good (make sure keep Google play services in check) sometimes I get lucky with the gapps I try, sometimes not
-GPS great
-No dual window (we're cm based)
-Bluetooth good. I believe NFC works, but I don't use it. Anyone chime in?

Thanks for bringing this ROM to the G3. Everything is running good. Very snappy, no lag, lots of features. I didn't try nfc or Bluetooth since I don't use them. Keep up the good work.

Edit: Internet connection popped in after cycling from Global to 3g, then Global to LTE. Works great now!

NFC? It's best not to bring that up around here - it's the bane of the G3 dev and kind of the Holy Grail. Bluetooth isn't totally ironed out yet, but I find it plenty reliable. Thx for bringing us OctOS @red3razor! Since the early S3 days, I've dug your product and team attitude!

MOVING NEXUS AND PIXEL DEVICES TO LINEAGEOS BASE

Oh no what have we done?!
For the past few months Team-OctOS has been maintaing two seperate Nougat code bases. An AOSP based branch for the Nexus/Pixel devices and a LineageOS based branch to support all of the other devices. This also means that team has been split working on two seperate projects. In order to get the team back to being a team we’ve made the tough decision to discontinue the AOSP branch. All current officially supported devices will still be supported using the LineageOS base OctOS.
Expect to see weekly builds for the below devices on the Oct-N Weekly (LineageOS base) download page begining Feb 10th.

Q: Is this Android 7 (Nougat)?
A: Yes, this is Android 7.1.2
Q: What code is Oct-N based on?
A: This version of Oct-N is based on LineageOS 14.1
Q: Why isn't there XYZ feature?
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But all the others have..
A: ROM developers, build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-N.
Q: What about root?
A: Root is removed by default (user will be able to flash which ever root zip they want)
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
Log file APKs
Team OctOs recommends SysLog from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.

Please follow the install instructions in this OP. Pixel devices are not the same as Nexus , please familiarize yourself with your device before attempting to flash anything on it.
Remember this is an Alpha build. It has been tested thoroughly but you will find some minor bugs. We will continuously be updating and making it better! Enjoy!

Got the "vendor image may be out of date" message which is an easy fix if you tell us which boot img to flash?
I think I'm on the newest U. Or I was at one point recently.
WiFi, data & calls works.
Ok Google is busted like on other AOSP ROM's but the beta is out there somewhere and supposedly works.

Flash 26U again. Some reason it sometimes doesn't stick first time around

Flash rom is #4 on the install instructions. Yes I plan on working on sailfish soon

That's weird. I see the same post he does which doesn't mention rebooting to recovery and actually flashing the rom. I never knew the xda labs app had such a bug. I rarely use desktop so who knows what I've missed.

I'm using the original XDA app. PC shows it also. It's strange for sure that such a bug can exist. Important information can be missed!
Weta rom was having issues when flashing with rc1 I just want to make sure that its good to go before flashing.

This ROM has its own battery options my friend
I'm trying a few things, but I'm getting issues flashing. It seems my downloads are missing the "update-binary". I double checked the zips and can't find it on my desktop. Any ideas?
Never mind...I thought I was on TWRP RC1
