[Q] Are there different motherboard revisions? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

So recently I broke my galaxy s4, the screen is broken pretty badly all the way from the glass to the actual display, and is unusable. I really want my s4 back, I was lucky enough to get an early one so I have loki with a custom rom, and I have a whole bunch of files on the internal storage that I want back. So, because the motherboard is still working, I am planning on getting another s4 and swapping the motherboard out. My only concern with this is that there might be different motherboard revisions. So, are there? Are all verizon s4 motherboards compatible in all verizon s4 phones?
Thanks.

There is no main board revision with verizon S4. Buy a screen with frame assembly that label L720/I545/R970 and it should fit.

[Q] SHW-M250S LCD screen and digitizer problem

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone would be able to help me with my question/problem. I'm kind of new to this site, so please excuse me if I seem noobish. I tried looking everywhere in the forums for something similar to my predicament, but I didn't find anything. Either that, or I didn't look very well.
Anyways, I'll try to be as brief as possible. I bought a broken Samsung Galaxy S2 with a cracked screen and broken digitizer for $100. My plan was to swap out everything with replacement parts, but when I took it apart to check the model number (because I noticed some differences from my i9100) I found out that it was the Korean-type S2. The model number is SHW-M250S. I looked everywhere on Ebay and Amazon for the lcd screen and digitizer for this exact model, and nothing came up except the regular i9100 lcd+digitizer replacements. Link below:
http://www.amazon.com/Display-Digiti...7&sr=1-1owever
I did check on Amazon, and the closest thing I was able to find for the shw-m250s model are these items that are in the link below. Other than the lcd screen and digitizer, it also comes with a brand new housing and other parts I don't need. Which is just making it more expensive. Link below:
http://www.amazon.com/Touchscreen-Di...6418770&sr=1-3
My question is, can I use a regular i9100 lcd screen and digitizer replacement part for my SHW-M250S model, or at least use the (SHW-M250L) model part that I found on Amazon? The SHW-M250L parts look very similar to the one that I have. (That "L" could be a typo) If not, can someone send me a link to a site or place where I can buy ONLY the lcd screen and digitizer part for my exact model?
Thanks a lot in advance.
-Davin
The "L" supports CDMA, which you do not have, but my guess is they should all work, since they use the same screen. I could be wrong, though.
I would buy the international and if it doesn't work for your model - resell it. You can also try asking in the monster SHW-M250S thread.
By my guess, I think it should still be compatible because I doubt the screens have any major differences whether its a CDMA or GSM version. Neither do they affect the phones GSM or CDMA ability itself.

Buying a new galaxy note and needing your expertise!

Hi! as some of you might know i had problems with my past samsung galaxy note i717, so i returned it. was a bad experience but i'm in loved with the cellphone and i don't wanna make mistakes twice.
I'm trying to buy a new one through ebay, and i want it closer to new.
so i found the "seller refurbished"
and i found as "new" a "floor demo model"
and another one listed as new but without it plastics but under samsung warranty.
What would u guys recommend? and what does "floor-demo model" means?
would you recommend me buying the i717 or the note II? (i read is the same thing... just for the screen)
thanks

"Refurbished" is one that was returned, checked over, corrected, and sent back out. Usually has a warrenty.
"New Floor Demo" was probably a device on display at a retail outlet. While it can be classified as "new" since no one ever bought it, it probably has the most use. Everyone and their mother touched it.
"New w/o plastic + warrenty" was probably bought, opened, tested, and put back in the box. I would only worry that the warrenty wouldn't transfer if it has already been registered.
Now to the Note I v. Note II: they are definetly not the same device. Pretty much every factor and spec is different. Dual-core S3 v. Quad-core exynos, 1gb ram v. 2gb ram, 1280x800 v. 1280x720, 5.3" v. 5.5", Android 4.0.4 v. Android 4.1... they list goes on.
If it were me, I wouod buy the Note II if the funds were available. It really is quite pricey. Subsidized would be a different story. I would read reviews on both. Make the decision. One is older but still more than capable. The other is brand new and currently sitting on top of the cell phone mountain.

[Q] Hardware question, are the screens different products for USA/International tabs?

My Galaxy 10.1 tab has suffered from the 'newton ring' screen defect for a while now (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130230 if you don't have long memories) but it wasn't too bad so I never got around to getting it fixed. Anyway, I had to take my phone into a Samsung service centre recently so I thought I'd get the tab done at the same time.
It's still within 2 years from purchase, but was bought in the USA so I was kinda expecting the warranty question to get raised. Nope, they took it fine, HOWEVER they now say that they can't repair it at all as they can't get the appropriate parts because the USA and UK models have different screens and they can't put a UK part into a US model. After a bit of further questioning they also said "and the software is different too", which is quite true but completely irrelevant to a pure hardware defect (and a known one at that).
Before I go and pick it up, could one of the experts here tell me if the physical screen and/or digitiser are any different between the original USA Galaxy TAB 10.1 (Wi-Fi only) and the original UK variant? I thought they were all made with the same generic parts in the same factories? Any part numbers or reference sources would be very helpful too. Thanks!
Andre
I have a UK tablet and i've never heard about different components lol.. I don't think there's a difference between the tabs, it's not that we have a different ROM that we also have different components, i came from android 2.3 UK and running cm10.1 now with a US bootloader on a UK device, problems, samsung?
Anyway,, i never suffered from those newton rings, i remember the link you posted, but i will not laugh too loud my tab is 1 year and 1 month old now
Thanks, that's very much my opinion too from everything I've ever read about this defect, the screen and digitiser are common components between the US and UK models.
If anyone can give me any more info or hard facts (e.g. do Samsung USA and Samsung UK have a spare parts website where I can compare part numbers?) that would help before I go back into the service centre around noon today. Thanks!

Samsung Galaxy mega motherboard swap

I'm attempting to put a motherboard from a broken us cellular mega into a fully functioning mega from sprint to use on us cellular. However when I turn it on everything response but the digitizer. These two phones have the same model number but I noticed one difference in the boards, some additional piece near the power button. Are these not compatible or is there a solution?

What S7 SM-G930F (Exynos version) battery?

I've been looking at the samsungparts website and they have multiple versions of the 930F and each has multiple batteries in its respective section, by that I mean it has two batteries listed with different a part number each and slightly different price.
I don't know which one to order. Why would they have two batteries listed?

If someone knows please let us know because i'm interested too.
From what I can tell, every S7 variant (snapdragon/exynos) uses the same exact battery. Which makes sense from a manufacturing standpoint.
here's a tip though, don't order one that says Samsung on it. Samsung doesn't sell replacement batteries so they are all counterfeits. I tried one and the connector broke off about 2 months after installing (it broke off inside the phone, with the back glass sealed... wtf?)
Find another brand on amazon or some other website you trust and order a battery that is highly rated, it's your best option.
EDIT: Wow, did not know that there was a genuine Samsung parts distributor... Here it is
This is what you want:
https://www.samsungparts.com/GH43-04574A-BATTERY.html
Model is GH43-04574A / EB-BG930ABE
EDIT AGAIN: I see what you mean about the different Model Numbers, GH43-04574A VS GH43-04574C. I'd assume they are just from different suppliers, or perhaps a slight revision, but they should both be compatible. Order either you should be fine.

Samsung does have replacement batteries, they just don't retail them it doesn't mean an approved service center cannot buy them and resell them. In addition others simply buy new phones and part them but indeed most of those are counterfeits.
I am currently also looking to buy a replacement battery for my S7 but all these sites in EU dont seem trustworthy. Places like samsungparts.eu and samsung-parts.net kinda look like the usa one but i cant find any real information about them if they are official one's.
I think snapdragon
