Hi,
Ok so I'm a beginner so do bear with me. So i rooted my s2 at first using villianrom and then decided to change to cognito. I used odin to flash villian then used clockwork to flash cognito. Right now my problem is that i have that IMEI number that some other people are having on the forums for various phones (some sort of default IMEI number). Now i have my nvdata file from when i first bought the phone. I was wondering if i can use to revert to my original imei number? If so how would i go about doing this?
Thanks.

hey yeh ive searched the forums most of them talk about the efs folder which i dont have. Is the nvdata file enough for me to restore my imei number?
Hi, my Imei is corrupted, I flashed a custom rom, and I lost my efs/imei, now my IMEI is 0049..and can't do anything.
My best friend has got the same mobile (Galaxy i9300 s3), and he gave to me his efs folder and a back up, I tried to fix my S3 with it, and it doesn't work, when I reboot the nv_data.bin and md5 are generated by the SO, and they are not the same as I copied from my friend.
I have tried to recover it by all ways, s2 guides, recover your imei in 9 steps..but it does not work.
I also tried stock rom, and it is impossible I cannot get a "normal" imei, always 0049..
Any ideas?I need the phone as soon as possible, that is why I don't want to send it to SAT, here in Spain are 15/20 days for repairing T.T
I hope you can help me, Thanks!
PD: If you are here to say I stolen the phone, please DON'T post anything, because I really need it and I payed for it as you DID! :good:

What rom did you try to flash? I've flashed many many rooms and never had an issue like this.

Do not flash another phone's EFS, it's duplicating IMEI, is illegal and is not allowed on XDA. Even the discussion of it.
If you didn't have a EFS backup for your phone and tried some guides already, there's not much you can do. Send it back to samsung?
Hello everyone,
I have an S3 i9300 locked to Orange Dominicana and I've tried all known ways to unlock it and can't get it done! I've tried GalaxSim unlock (after rooted of course) but said that the phone was already unlocked. Tried buying the code on freeunlocks.com and they told me that they can't find the code for my cellphone. And when I flash another ROM, I get corrupt IMEI and can't recover it even when restoring an EFS backup. Only get valid IMEI when the stock ROM is flashed. Could anyone please help me?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Ask the phone vendor to unlock .

the easiest way is to restore your efs partition if you have a backup
i had the same issue
i tried everything
non worked for me
fortunately i had a backup
restored it via twrp recovery and it was fixed
Unfortunately i haven't efs backup
So take it to repair centre, make sure it works on 4.3 before you pay.
Ok so recently I was successful to root my SM-J110F (Vodafone, AUS).
I had found a forum on xda for a custom ROM for SM-J110M.
(link) - https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/rom-cleanertlite-os-j1-ace-t3585567
I flashed the ROM using TWRP and it worked.
However sadly, the ROM isn't really that great. The IMEI shows it's "null / null"
so I cannot fix it. The forum hasn't been active so I cannot get a response from the person who made it.
I was wondering if there is any way to fix it and I know I have a custom ROM for SM-J110M but I just want to know if it can be fixed.
Also, since I installed the ROM, the phone says it is a SM-J110M. I was wondering if I could flash in a stock SM-J110M ROM from SamMobile. I tried flashing it using ODIN, but it didn't work.
I really need your help, because I want to stay in 5.1.1. otherwise I'm just going to have to go back to 4.4.4. which is really old.
Problem can be solved and to fix that problem you need manualy to write IMEI and Serial number .
To write IMEI , and S/N you can use Octoplus but Changing IMEI or S/N number which doesn't belong to you is Ilegal so do at your own.
Here is steps for you to follow.
