GB root without custom kernel - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi, I recently downgraded from ICS back to GB on my ST25a. I was getting poor DL speeds via wifi but normal upload speeds. I am running stock sony rom ST25i_2.3.7_6.0.B.3.184_2.6.35.7+. The only one I could find was for a ST25i, but if you flash without baseband it's all good. I wanted root but found the only way for xperia u running GB was by flashing a pre rooted custom kernel. Which is ok but all of them messed up the wifi. After hours of scouring the net I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/general/root-gb-ics-t2391208 It's basically a one click method and worked for me. I haven't tried it for ICS. Hope it helps someone.

Wait
I'll test it tomorrow

Didn't work with b.100 firmware/kernel, had to flash b.10 kernel and root with flashtool.

Im in stock Gb. 564 And works very good

I dont remember seeing any method for rooting by using odin.
Anyway, get a kernel that works on your phone model specifically. Flash it with odin through download mode. Then use Easy Rooting Toolkit V4 by DooMLoRD to root.
So you have no more details? How are people suppose to help?
I downloaded kies, went through that process then closed kies and used odin, then kernel and uploaded kernel via PDA. And rooted.

Are you on stock kernel or did you flash some release? What release?
---------- Post added at 05:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:48 PM ----------
These are some kernels maybe you should consider http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Epic_4G_Touch/Kernels
This section is mostly for I9100.
But, There is a specific section here for your phone and it might be better for you to check it and find resources that are more related to you http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1281.
Flash one that you feel OK with and we can help you through if you are still having issues.

Why did you create 3 threads about basically the same thing.
Looks like you dont have a clue about anything. That will only change with you reading tutorials BEFORE you attempt anything.
I didnt want to spend a week reading about stuff before I did anything with my phones......but there you go.
Sorry about everything...

Since your on a custom Rom and it doesnt have the lg software mode you cant use the program you need to restore a stock backup first

carloswii5 has it mostly right. The simplest way is to just apply a CWM backup of rooted stock (if you don't have one, use one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136204 ), and then you are done. Or if you don't like that, you can always offline flash a KDZ file starting from the official ROM's LG software mode.
i use mrmathematicas nandroid backup to go to rooted stock.. thanks mm.

once you unlock the bootloader, you really don't have to mess with kdz flashing (unless you plan on checking out a new kdz).

Xperia Mini Pro SK17i stuck in cwm only

Hey guys...i have an Xperia Mini Pro SK17i Android ICS 4.0.4 unlocked and rooted its become
nearly unusable cause when i flash LuPuS_mango_jBv8-ram kernel throhgh flash tools It only
start in cwm recovery mode when i reboot it start again in cwm mode only
I again try to reflash st18_4.1.a.0.562_kernel.ftf kernel but its fail,
I also install ViperXperia_V8 ROM through CWM Recovery all completed successful but again its start only in cwm
please any one give me solution
sorry for my bad english
thanks in advance
Hello! JB kernel is for JB ROMS only. It will not work with ICS ROMS. Why did you flash ST18 kernel on your phone?!! Your phone is SK17! It will surely fail because you flash a wrong kernel.
I recommend you to reinstall the stock firmware of your SK17 phone using Flashtool. It will reinstall the original kernel and system.

Kernel for CM 13 Based ROM

I was thinking to use Boeffla Kernel for G900F on G900T on my CM 13 Based ROM. Does it work properly?

It works I've been using it for a few days now but I can't get my head around all them settings. It also Clash's with my closed framework so I'm lookin for something less complex
A little OT but since we're here, is installing CM 13 just a matter of downloading the software and flashing with Odin? I'm rooted on MM. Does my operating system change?
