Unlocking HTC one, failed 10 times - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am in a foreign country and trying to get service. I have was not familiar with sim cards changing before this. So I put in the new sim card and when it was asking for my unlock code for my phone I kept typing in my sim card phone number.....
Then I realized it was the code for un-locking the device. I then paid to get an un-lock code and when I type it in after placing the sim card in it fails every time.
After doing some research online it sounds like if I failed ten times it hard locks. Is there anyway to break the hard lock so I can type in the right code to unlock my phone?

You should try asking in the HTC One forum.

Which HTC One is it? You might be able to unlock via root + S-off + config.dat unlock.

[Q] SIM error when using unlock code?!

I have an unlock code for my Mozart but it seems to not be accepted.
When I enter it all I get is a SIM error message and then it asks me to enter my PIN again.
I don't know if there is a limit on entering the unlock code on the phone and I don't want to try over and over. I'm wondering if the problem may be the SIM isn't being recognised because it is a microsim in an adaptor.
Is it worth me trying a full size SIM? I have gotten the same code from multiple sources and so I find it hard to believe the code is wrong?!
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

yes that was a waste of money. the phone is already UNLOCKED for international usage but it is locked for any other sim carrier in the USA. outside of usa you can use it freely.
But i wanted to get rid of the registering process on startup

Sim Unlock Question

Hey guys,
Im gonna be going overseas and I called ATT about an unlock code and they provided me with one with my atrix, however I cant try to unlock it until I get a sim card for another carrier.
I wont be able to do that for a couple days, but I am just wondering one thing. They told me all I have to do is put in a different sim card and reboot the phone and a pop up will show up asking for an unlocked code.
Will this work with Cyanogenmod 7 installed as I currently have it, or do I need to revert to the stock 2.3.4 to unlock the phone?
Thank you
Logically yes; there's no other way to remove the sim lock other than having the code so cm7 or not, it's still there.
My logic though, don't come complaining if it didn't work out! :-$

How do I unlock my Atrix? I got the unlock code form ATT...

I am not sure what to do now with it.... can anyone help me out?
I just wanted to do a SIM unlock so I can user other SIMs with it. I dont care about unlocking the bootloader and rooting and all the jazz on this phone.
You really should have searched first. This is by far not the first time this has been asked.
If you want to use it with a non-AT&T SIM card, then why don't you just put the other SIM card in?

I tired searching around but I did not find what I was looking for.
I dont have another SIM card to put in my old Atrix yet. If I did would be prompted for that unlock code the lady gave me?
Yes.

Problems Unlocking Alpha

Hello
I purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy Alpha Direct from Vodafone UK. My sim is under Orange/EE.
I purchased a NUC code from an unlocking vendor online. I entered the correct IMEI number as requested and received the code a few days later. I entered the code and received a message saying "Network request unlock unsuccessful."
Went through troubleshooting with the vendor and could not get it working. A refund was given.
I decided to Vodafone UK to have the phone unlocked direct through them as I thought maybe a dodgy code was given. I received my code yesterday, followed the instructions and again the same message appears.
I was growing tired with this so decided to take it to an independent experienced phone unlocker/repairer and explained the situation to him. I give him the code and he tried various different things and was baffled as this should be an easy process.
The phone is running android 4.4.4
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have a phone here I cannot use :crying:
Thanks in advance!
dear same thing happened to me I post a thread on this then I get no answer , but u can use this website to unlock your phone be sure will be unlocked but try to fill information that where you already purchased your phone not where you want to use OK ?
www.unlockunit.com
wish that will help you
I just unlocked note 4 from Vodafone. I got 4 unlock codes. One is for sim and the other 3 for aomesthing more deeper in the sistem Just worked with the sim unlock code. My question for you is: if you tryed 2 different ( online and Vodafone) YOU SHOULD GOT THE SAME CODE FOR SIM UNLOCK because is strictly related to your IMEI. Is that the case?
P.S. 1.On Google play is a program Note 4 unlock. I got my unlock code in 50 minutes in the day of international launch of note 4. You should try that.
2. Write with Odin a stock firmware and try again your unlock code after that
3. To enter your unlock code you have to insert an non accepted sim in your phone, power up your phone and enter the code when you are asked. Did you do that?
Try this

If your phone does not ask for the unlock code:
1. Turn on the phone with original Sim card or without Sim card
2. Enter #7465625*638*NCK/Network#
The phone is now unlocked.
If your phone does not ask for the unlock code:
1. Turn on the phone with a foreign (Unaccepted) Sim card
2. Then enter the following sequence:
#0199*Unfreeze/Defreeze#
#0111*NCK/Network#
#0121*SCK/Subprovider#
#0133*SPCK/Provider#
The phone is now unlocked.

Yes where to enter these codes and letters? I tried entering the numbers and nothing happens, if I try to press call it says Mobile network not available.
