So i have s-off, unlocked bootloader, running viper rom for a year now. I recently tried to flash a new rom and noticed my external sd wont register. tried multiple sd cards still wont read em. the area in settings under storage is greyed out under sd card(external). I tried flashing through fastboot usb, and nothing. the phone is running like crap. i either want to go back to stock or flash a new rom, but am stuckl on ideas. Any help is appreciated
What's hboot & radio version? Something tells me you may need to update those.

Im currently trying to go back to the stock RUU from Scotts Cleanrom 4.0 however im having issue after issue.
My first issue is In this current version of cleanrom i can not access phone storage / sd storage to transfer the RUU to my phone.
The .exe verion of the RUU keeps failing and saying "unknown error, which im guessing is because my bootloader is unlocked. If I lock my bootloader, it doesnt allow my phone to boot into cleanrom, it just keeps saying under relocked "Security Warning".
Im literally lost, as scotts cleanrom 4.0 keeps rebooting and is unusable for me, and I can not use amen ra to flash a new rom because i can not copy a new rom to my phone/sd card. Furthermore, there are no nandroid backups for me to access.
My current state is this: i am "Relocked" But under it im getting "Security Warning"
I have the RUU on the SD Card but when i go into hboot, the loading bar on the top right completes then nothing happens...
You can mount your sdcard within amonRA. It's the "USB-MS toggle" and mount sdcard option.
You can also use a usb sdcard reader and pop in your sdcard.
The "USB-MS toggle" worked for me in the past.

Ran to walmart to grab an adapter and i was able to get a different rom on my sd card using a reader. Currently waiting for it to boot up Ineffabilis v1.3, we'll see if this can clear up my issues since putting the RUU PH98IMG on the sd card and jumping into the bootloader didnt seem to install. Its taking its sweet time though :-/
Having bad luck with my Rezound so far, partially because i was rushing but partially because it seems like it just doesnt WANT to work, lol
Edit:
Wouldnt boot into that rom... going to try scott's stock rooted rom... if that doesnt work im gonna be back at step one
Ok so the short of it is, you can't run an older RUU. The hboot was updated with the leaked RUU, so any older RUU will fail. That is the bad news.
The good news is that you can still go back to stock, somewhat. Grab a stock rom from www.scottsroms.com, and install that.
What you need to do first is reunlock your phone.
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
This is if you still have your unlock token from htcdev.com. If not you need to rerun the process.
Secondly, reflash Amon Ra for recovery.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery nameofrecoveryfile.img
Flash the stock rom from Scott's site.
Lastly flash this zip in recovery, and you should be good to go.

Second time you helped me out of a hole today, you ARE the man. Thank you so much
And in fact, I would much rather be on one of Scott's stable stock like roms with that vzw bloat removed.
Edit:
Got scotts stock rom working nicely except i still cant access my sd card or internal storage. i flashed The Zip you linked and it still is not working. Any ideas?
question:
once somebody is rooted and flashed with a ROM from xda, is there anyway to go back to the original stock (not Scott's) so the Rezound can get the official OTA update to ICS on its own?

Depends on the rom, if you updated to one of the newer ICS roms that require updating the firmware, no. The current roms will be updated with the goods from the latest OTA once it's available though so you just install the latest version of the rom of your choice.
Now if there's any more radio/hboot/baseband type updates, we'd have to manually go through the process of installing the latest RUU to update those also.
i haven't updated the firmware yet, i was actually thinking of doing so tonight. I'm not trying to unroot, i would rather just get the ota update. the rom I've been using has started being buggy and there doesn't seem to be a fix (random restarting several times a day, lost connection issues, etc). what would i have to do?
Hi,
I flashed the T-mobile ICS leak. Flawlessly. Easily.
I can not, however, get S-off with the junopuntobear 0.4 tool.
Can someone please tell me the prerequisites to getting S-off?
Do I need to go back to the stock gingerbread ROM? If so, then I will be posting another question about that since I can't revert back to stock anymore.
Here you go dude, It has been confirmed:

You need root, and I flashed stock recovery, although I do not know if that is necessary. Run the controlbear, and when it gets to the point where it says it cannot find the device, close it, pull the battery and boot into fastboot, lock, then unlock your bootloader and restart the phone, then run controlbear again. When you finish, pull the battery and go to fastboot, and flash one of the superCID scripts. Next, plug your external sd card into your computer and format it as FAT32, then put the ICS PH85IMG.zip file on your SD card and put it back in your phone and flash it via Hboot.
Hello All sorry for another post like this but no matter what I have tried I can't seem to get this work even though I have don eit many times before with other device and would really apreaciate any help.
I have the T-Mobile amaze that I did the junopuntbear on a while back and am trying to restock to send back to t-mobile for warranty issues with camera button not working any more and Tmo will send another of the same unit.
But when I try and run the ruu like I have done many times before with other devices don't seem to work or even be recognized by the phone
I have downloaded both versions of the newest versions of the tmo ruu and renamed to PH85IMG.zip to the external sd card and when booting into bootloader it don't seem to find it or ecknowledge that its there.
I even tried it on internal memory and still no luck
I have used the following two files
RUBY_ICS_35_S_TMOUS_2.14.531.3_R2_Radio_1.14.550L. 17DC_30.78.550L.15_release_262141_signed.zip
PH85IMG_RUBY_ICS_35_S_TMOUS_2.14.531.3_Radio_1.14. 550L.17DC_30.78.550L.15_release_259626_signed.zip
Any ideas on what may be wrong?
Current bootloader is
*** locked ***
ruby pvt ship s-off rl
hboot - 1.93.0002
I did have eng bootloader and that one didn't seem to find it either
I also do have the correct cid on it too
Any idea on how to get this loaded back and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Never mind guys I figured out what I was doing wrong.
Even though I could mount and see the SD card to computer while in recover when it was only mounted to recovery or rom (energy at the time) it wouldn't see it.
I formated the SD card in the recovery rather then in the computer and it fixed the issue.
Was then able to run the zip and fully back to stock.
Ok, I will try to give as much info as I can, please let me know if there is anything else I should provide. I really appreciate any help and advice as I've been pulling my hair out for the last 3 days, spending 10+ hours trying to get my Amaze back working.
Problem started a few days ago, phone shut off, when it powered back on it was stuck on the White HTC logo. That same day the phone died completely and would not power on at all, not even the amber light. Eventually the amber light would blink the but phone wouldn't charge. I fixed this first issue by jump starting the battery with a 9V battery, something someone suggested on a thread. Worked great to get the phone charging again... but that's it. So basically I have access to the HBOOT/Fastboot and EXT4 Recovery menu's, and there is no OS on the phone, I know for sure now because I wiped the system.
When I try (but fail) to install the RUU 1.41 exe, and it checks the phone, i comes back saying my "current" version on the phone is 2.14.661.2 even though there isn't any OS on there...
Bit more background info. I purchased this phone last year off someone, it was running 4.1.2 and the bootloader was unlocked. It *is S-ON though.
Whatever else this guy did, I'm not sure as this is what I can tell, however the CID pulls up as Telus001? which the guy did tell me it was a Telus phone.
So I'm trying to load the Telus stock rom and I've been getting nowhere and pulling my hair out. I'm 10hrs in and no further then I was. So first I downloaded the Telus RUU 1.41 exe from the stock rom but it gives an Error 43. I tried this with both the bootloader locked again, and unlocked. I then downloaded the OTA 2.14.661 zip from the stock roms, and renamed it to PH85IMG, stuck that on the Ext SD card. Problem is when it boots into the HBOOT it actually see's the file, loads it, then checks it, but then returns me to the main menu. I don't get promted to update. Now I've tried this too with the bootloader unlocked, and locked. So a third go, I extracted the Rom from the 1.41 RUU and made that PH85IMG, tossed it onto the SD card and again this time it actually went further but gave another error.
I have tried to Sideload the above Roms through recovery but they give error's.
In that All In One program there is an option to fix the Mainver error, however when I run that all I get is "Device not found". The phone IS loaded under device manager as HTC Phone as I had installed the drivers. I've tried to google this fix but I can't get anywhere.
Everyone has said on forums that sticking a PH85IMG.zip file on an Ex SD and having it boot into the HBOOT menu will rebuild the phone, but I'm out of idea's how to get there because it loads the rom's, checks them, and then boots me back to the menu. There is only 2 Rom's I can find for Telus, and that's the 1.41 EXE or the OTA 2.14.661.2. My HBOOT version is 1.93.0002, RUBY PVT SHIP S-ON RL.
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions, desperately just want my phone working again. I feel like I've been to the 4 corner's of google trying to solve this problem.
Strange This should not happen. Also if your phone is running 4.1.2 which should be a custom then that means your phone was updated to ics so the ruu.exe will fail.if you have access to 4ext recovery then you can flash any custom rom to boot your phone. But if you want stock and both of the stock roms for your carrier is not working then the only thing you can do is s-off the phone then use supercid so you can flash any carrier's rom then flash t-mobile ics stock.Tell me if this worked for you.

Got it going!! Thanks for the suggestions. What did it in the end was this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27058110
I had EXT4 Recovery already, so I used his Zip and just flashed that. Phone came back up and is running great now... if only I had found his thread before the hr's and hr's I've been googling and trying things.
Hi all,
So I bought a Rezound for my daughter for Christmas. She's only 10 and for now it is a 911 "emergency" phone\media player, and in a year or so we're planning on adding a GSM SIM so she can have some "minor emergency" ability to call us when we need to change pickup arrangements, etc.
Anyway, the phone I bought was on GB, I think, with HBOOT 2.27. I have been able to S-OFF-, unlock the bootloader, flash CWM 6.0.3.6, and flash the 4.03.605.2 RUU to it. All in all things are smashing. But when I boot to recovery and even normally, the internal storage seems screwed up. I get messages about unable to mount sdcard or external_sd, and while I tried reformatting them in recovery I think I made it worse. Without an SD card I can see 10GB free of HTC STORAGE when I plug it into Windows under a normal boot, but with an SD it doesn't even give me disk-drive as an option.
I didn't think I needed to flash a boot.img because I went the RUU route from GB to ICS, but I don't know how to fix this. Any help is much appreciated!
Nevermind
I follow the awesome downgrade->upgrade guide and I'm good to go!
