New to a HTC Hero / Android 2.2 Question

I've just bought an HTC Hero (Refurb/3UK) of which arrives on Tuesday, but i am completely new to Android having never used the OS or the Device before i am wondering if anyone can help me out with any important information i need to know about.
Ssecondly, i know HTC won't be releasing Android 2.2 for the Hero due to the Hardware Specifications as 2.1 had to be shrunk in order to be rolled out for this device, is anyone working on getting this onto the Hero?
Already a working version of 2.2 is available but without Sense UI

Stock ROM needed for HTC ONE X

Can someone please help me, been looking and looking and I am not sure where I am going so wrong as I have no results.
Looking for the stock rom to restore and unroot my HTC ONE X H3G (on the UK THREE network), model is H3G.
Lost my backups and after having fun getting Jelly Bean working and back to sense, I want to go unrooted again so I can use Sky GO (for some reason they have something against people using rooted phones and there is no work around for this)
Thanks for any help and advice!!

Restore contacts across Android versions

I recently had the misfortune of downloading the latest OTA update from samsung to 4.3.3. Made my phone very laggy and not a great improvement. Years back I rooted and flashed my HTC Wildfire, which wasnt a big deal as the phone was relatively cheap.
Anyway to get to the point. I flashed with 4.2.2 Cyanogen Mod onto my Galaxy S4 and had backed up my stock using Clockwork Mod. I have been able to use Titanium backup pro to restore pretty much everything except my contacts. I think the issue is with my old contacts being stored in a newer version of Android. Is there anyway around this as I would really like to get my contacts back.
I had tried flashing with a stock ROM but the latest one I can get from sammobile is 4.2.2 Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks

If the contacts are very important, don't you have some other way of contacting them? Like social media. Or is there anybody else who may have the contact info as well?

Google Edition ATT ??

Noticed that my phone did not take the OTA 4.3 update. I got to looking around and read some on converting HTC One to a Google Edition. Can someone help me understand the advantages of a GEdition phone as opposed to the ATT one? Too, is it a good ROM (I assume it will be a stock).
I'm really STUCK because I want to update my HTC One but I want to keep ROOT. I'm using Stock now, but I cannot seem to find a reliable ROM. Help help!
Thanks in advance!!

At first I really didn't like my ATT stock Sense ROM primarlily because of All that ATT crap-ware they had preinstalled.
I actually got Android 4.3 GE RUU for HTC one up and running....and...at first glance...it seemed really clean and nice! Didn't have any ATT stuff which was a big plus.
Hoping for a clean, stable, custom developer esque ROM........But I really am not a big superFan of Google for all my services...
(I use AdblockPlus on my MacbookAir, Windows XP Desktop at home, while checking my Yahoo email from my Mozilla Browser)
As of now, I ended up with Android_Revlotion HD-One_31.6 Stock ROM and have not changed for like almost a week from writing this feed.,
GPE is pure Android. If that's what you like, do it. I did it to one of my One's, and it was boring. I converted the other to the Developer Edition, and now I have Sense without all of the ATT goodness that they put on these phones. I really like it this way. Not hard to do either. You can get the Brightstar edition RUU from HTCDev. Then just make sure you either use BS__US001, or 11111111 as your CID, and relock bootloader. Since you are still on Hboot 1.44, I would certainly go S-Off before you do this, it makes it easier.
guys, so is it possible to transform my ATT HTC ONE to a GPE HTC ONE? Updates by google?

Yes, I did this and used it for about a month but I do like the sense features better.
1. Obtain S-OFF
2. Change CID to GOOGL001
3. Flash the Google Stock RUU which can be found on the XDA forums
4. Receive OTA updates.
If you need instructions to any of the steps above, google it.

[Q] Reverting Back to Stock Help (No Nandroid Backup)

Ok so before I had an HTC one x+, I owned a galaxy s3. At that moment I didn't know the difference between. S on and s off. So when I first got my one x+ I didn't know I needed a nandroid backup of stock. Now I can't go back to stock because I don't have it and I'm running a custom ROM. I read online that I can use other peoples nandroid backups. If this is true, could someone share there's or can someone a little more experienced than me help me out? Thanks!
