Ever since I've started working the CM10 builds from codeworkx (which, by the way, are amazing), I've had a persistent problem with the Google Maps API not being available. Google Maps itself continues to work fine, but apps which depend on it don't work anymore. In the case of Instagram it just means I can't use the photomap which isn't a huge problem, but for apps like Uber and AirBNB it means that I can't install them at all (they show up as incompatible). Trying to install the apps via adb also fails with INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY.
I've tried installing a few different versions of gapps (currently using 20120726 since it's the most recent) and it hasn't helped. I also found some instructions for fixing this issue a while ago by updating the relevant files directly (can't post the link, but it's on slatedroid and the article is "fixing the INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY error") but it hasn't helped either.
I've tried all of this both with an updated CM10 build as well as after doing a full wipe and install of the updated ROM with no change.
Any ideas on what could be going on? Is there anything else I can try?
First off, I'm a noob (especially to this site) so I have to post here since I don't have the requisite 10 for posting in the andr. dev. site; please bear with me.
I have flashed to BAKED 8, seems to be running fine;
I have google synced and synced on first boot, whereupon all my apps (from my last rom paranoidandroid) were downloaded and installed.
I then flashed inverted gapps from recovery via Gooim (gappsinverted-unified-jb-20130308-signed.zip) and rebooted.
Problem: It does not appear that gmail app etc. are inverted (they have white backgrounds.) Any ideas what I've done wrong?
I do know that gmail is not included in the gapps stuff,,,
Weird I know,, but you have to download that sperate

The only ROM I seen with the best working inverts is slim rom if your looking for that dark theme its built in. With a switch of a button all those apps are inverted.

Would post in the pac-man thread, but have less than 10 posts.
Recently flashed the latest version of pac-man from pio (6/11). Did a clean flash. When i went to install titanium backup, I got an error that the device isn't rooted. Looks like there is no superuser app installed.
Is this an issue where pio accidentally failed to include superuser? Is it something i can download and sideload?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

Its integrated into the ROM now, I couldn't forget it if I wanted to. This happens on occasion, you can either flash it yourself as suggested or flash the ROM again, either should get it going.

Thanks! Worked great. i flashed it myself, but I see from the main thread that I should delete the app before flashing the next update.
Didn't mean to impugn your awesome dev skills by saying "forget." was actually meant in jest, but i see that didn't come across in the OP.
Thanks again for a fantastic rom!!!

Pio- I'd post into the Pac Man thread but I'm still not at 10 posts yet. I downloaded and flashed your ROM maybe 20 hours ago, and I don't have SU either. Was it updated between then and now? My time zones are off...
Also, I'm getting some app FCs, specifically Google Play Music>My Library. I did a clean install and I'm using crpalmer's kernel. I've seen people talking about this specific bug as far back as 5/8 in the CM thread, but no one's posted about it recently. Do you know if this was fixed/is it CM/is it crpalmer's kernel? Music is probably one of my most essential apps...
BTW great work this ROM is awesome

The issue you mention aren't app FC, they simply close, vanish, no FC message, you have a different issue that requires more information before I'll hazard a guess. If you read anything in the PAC thread you'll see what I want in a post saying there's an issue.

Well, this is what I came up with as far as bug reporting in your posts:
Q. I want to report an issue, can I just post it in your thread without reading or doing any basic troubleshooting, googling, reading or wiping?
A. Well you CAN, you may be ignored or flamed for it. Please read above, and please read the Bugs and Change Log lists before reporting anything. Please flash a clean download, flash a clean wipe, and don't restore stuff from TiBu, thats basic troubleshooting, check if the issue persists, if it does, then feel free to post about it.
I always read the bugs and change logs, that's one of my criteria for picking a ROM. I downloaded your PAC-Man ROM last night, put it on my SD card, along with inverted and regular Gapps. I wiped data, cache, and dalvik. Then I flashed your ROM, then the inverted Gapps and rebooted. Decided I didn't like the inverted, booted back into recovery, wiped data, cache, dalvik again. Flashed regular, most recent Gapps. Rebooted again. Thought about it, and then decided to try crpalmer's kernel. AGAIN, wiped data, cache, and dalvik before flashing. Everything seemed fine, I began installing apps from the play store (I don't use anything to back up apps, no TiBu or anything) and went to bed. It wasn't until this morning when I was setting up my BT in the car and opened Play Music for the first time. I can play music, I can search, I can go to radio, etc. It only crashes/closes/disappears if I go to My Library. I don't have SU either which I noticed at work today, which is what lead me to post here in the first place.
That's as descriptive as I can be. I hope it helps

Very nice lol
The most recent PAC has a broken super user, flashing a super user zip will work or you can use the previous build where the integrated super user works. There was a link posted in the main PAC thread as well as here in this thread I think.
Google music library does seem to be problematic, though it may be halo related, Google music has had issues on alot of the AOSP type ROMs from streaming to vanishing to now having library issues, it seems to occur more on local files vs cloud, though.
Does this occur on the stock kernel also? I know you mentioned flashing crpalmers kernel, just wondering.

Well I know very little about Halo, but I can say that I was able to stream just fine over 4g if I played the music without going through the My Library tab (search, Listen Now, etc.). I didn't have any local files at all since it was just after a wipe.
I did another clean install of your ROM last night, flashed the Gapps from goo.im, and DID NOT flash crpalmer's kernel. Same issue

I assume you mean Play Music. All my apps are up to date, though. I'm on my lunch break now I'll try wiping the app's data and cache, see if that works, and if not I'll uninstall it, reinstall and see if there's any difference.
UPDATE: Neither of the above attempts solved it. Also Play Music > Radio causes the same kind of close. Now I can't remember if it did it before or not. I also noticed that there was a "blacklist Halo notifications" option, I tried that as well to no effect.
OK so for the developers, the apps just closing like that, was a few commits to cm10.1 source, particularly bionic and dalvik, some optimisations regarding krait CPU stuff got applied to all phone types which caused the issue,
Superuser pac-man source fixed that issue a day or 2 ago in vendor-pac and settings

Yeah this is all known, for whatever reason the changes made weren't merged like I thought they would be so the issue persisted and I just haven't had time build another one, the workaround for now is sufficient.

Hey all,
As I don't develop CyanogenMod or work for their team, I didn't think it'd be right to make a post in the Development sub-forum. Anyway, I came across a post over on Android Police stating that CM 13 Nightlies are now availble for 'manta'. I've downloaded the latest Nightlie and flashed it on my Nexus 10 along with the lastest Gapps, and everything works great. You can find the Nightlies here. All credit goes to the CyanogenMod team for keeping our Nexus 10 alive!
In my case the gapps are too big (even micro and nano) while pico gets successfully flashed but then Google Play Services crash all the time.
Did you flash the very first nightly from Jan 9?
I have the same issues: nano gapps too large for system, can't install this way... any solutions?
Edit: pico gapps work, no issues so far
I can't even install the pico gapps. Which package did you use OP?
Edit: Tried again with a full wipe and it worked using the pico-apps. Have had no crashes of any Google services so far. I used the latest CM nightly to flash.

I used the newer one both times. Only difference was full wipe.
I'm having zero luck on getting Google Play Services installed. Tried the nano, now the Pico. Same as above users, the install will go just fine but will give me crashes every second on screen.
I read here and there that this crash on CM13 (other devices) can also be caused by a) Privacy Guard settings for Google Play services, or b) allowing Google Play Services to access "Phone" and "Contacts" or something to that effect.
Still playing around trying to get this to install.......
Edit: Did a full wipe of everything, including System/Data, and it all works now. I'm all setup! I'm getting an error on Google "Now on Tap", saying "The app has stopped" everytime I try to use it. I remember seeing the fix somewhere about something in Accessibility settings. But I'm having no luck remembering what it was or finding the fix again.
DTB
Google play services were not working for me at first either. I decided to try and sideload the latest Google Play Services apk to see if would fix the problem. Thankfully, it did fix it. You can find the apk file here.
Install Opengapps nano or pico http://opengapps.org/ and full wipe before install.
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/127116/
Anyone tried enabling f2fs?
Good news, finally got "Now on Tap" working.
I went to settings. I searched for "Assist", and selected "Assist and Voice Input".
(I honestly can't find in the settings where it is, I can only find it by searching within settings.)
The "Assist App" was set to "Google App". I selected "None", then went back and set it to "Google App" again...and all was good!
So, looks like I am finally up and running. Another note; the Marshmallow apps restore didn't seem to restore for me. I even used my phone to setup my account, all was linked fine. It got my identity and set it, but did not restore any apps. Not a huge deal.

I guess you did not read the part where we said that this is exactly what we did.
1GB RAM
I succesfully installed CM13 with Opengapps pico and its running very smooth so far. But in settings it's showing me that I only have 1GB of RAM instead of 2GB. Did anyone else notice this?
Edit: 1,1GB to be exact. Very strange.
Edit 2: I read in another thread that about 900MB is reserved for the GPU so that's probably why it is showing just 1,1GB for the system.
Hei, ref doing a full wipe, is that before doing the pico gapps install, and exactly what is meant by full wipe? Thanks

Yes before installing Pico. I did a wipe after too, just to be sure. A full wipe means cache and system/data. If you have TWRP a normal wipe includes all of this.

PS That did the job All working very well now!
Does CM13 support loop device?
I need to run linux chroot (via linux deploy); that requires that the ROM supports loop device. Request to those who have successfully install CM13 on N10: Could you install the free app "loop device checker" and check to see if loop device is supported?
THANKS!
ps. This app is free and useful but it has annoying loud music; mute the speaker first
After installing CM13, my Nexus10's rotation doesn't work.
When I used stock lollipop, rotation worked perfectly.
Even if I update to the newest version, it's the same here. (cm-13.0-20160129-NIGHTLY-manta)
Does anyone have the same problem?

wifi works fine on this rom. there is a gapps bug that i cant figure out, all the sudden all of the builds crash setup wizard, and now i cant even get my partitions to setup properly. i think it has to do with something i did when i was reflashing my devices from stock to mm again to test everything out before final release. i just have no clue. but it works great for wifi just install everything without gapps i guess. i really need someone to test this tbh

zimage in odin from the omnirom 5.1 thread. its the same mtd over bml lvm bs from cm11. but something is wrong with it. like ot was causing the zip not to flash or the partitions would become unmountable. i diffed the scripts and i dont see a difference.. so i removed the script from my zips. no big deal. gapps is what i need tested after you confirm the rom works.
@bmeek here is a full unmodified zip. still ubertc 5.3 with justarchi stuff, has cma kernel, and opticharged. the latest device tree code is used. i cant get gapps to work. they just crash. when the zip install fails, reboot to recovery and install again. then it works https://mega.nz/#!QZAHHYzb!lfpF2c_gl5Cfrg93S2Dy6KTIzbnwF7Wb_85LFkzz76s

I run CM10.1 too! With devil Kernel. Max clock set to 1200MHz.
Home button, recent apps button do not work, clicking "more" in settings crashes it, quick settings do not work, notifications do not work. in the R3 build.
Can't get the R6 build to install, "Operation not supported on transport endpoint.".
Erase system partition before you flash this, Or you will have problems! btw, the zip will not install from cm10.1 cwm recovery, I had to flash Omni 5.1.1, reboot recovery, then flash this 6.0.1 build. I am on R6 now.

kernel update: wayy more updated f2fs, exfat in kernel for exfat of course and also for vfat, which means more stability and recent code. sync with xc-racer99 sources for more cma etc... updates and a radix-tree backport from the 3.4 kernel. thanks arter97, dorimanx, xc and cwof

is this boot.img in the latest download (omni-6.0.1-20160521-fascinatemtd-HOMEMADE.zip)? My fascinate started getting in a reboot loop last week so I decided to wipe and try this.
---------- Post added at 08:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:35 PM ----------
I wiped (all 3),
installed omni 6.0.1 20160521,
installed BaNkS_Dynamic_GApps
installed SuperSU
I cannot get past the got another device screen in wizard. I eventually get 'Google play services has stopped.' I will try again without GApps. What do you suggest I do?

We have to bug @xc-racer99 trust me ive spent a couple hours trying to figure this one out, btw the op states to flash the boot.img after flashing the rom zip(which _is_ old). we also gotta do hella debloat because banks doesnt actually fit, it leaves an apk or two unwritten cause running out of space. if you can convince xc to figure this out I'll release a package solution, with the latest rom(reworked optimizations and synced with latest omni source yesterday) and gapps all debloated.

I have no idea why you guys are having such problems on the Fascinate: with a freshly synced Omni source, freshly downloaded OpenGapps pico, I had no issues getting through the Setup Wizard (I did skip setting up a Google Account) on my Galaxy S 4G - although it was understandably laggy. The default Browser also works just fine afterwards.
Perhaps the gapps package provided removes some essential file/doesn't overwrite properly?

i have it written completely and setup wizard blatantly stops right after boot. Then sometimes setup wizard will work and then google play services will crash incessantly. I think this was the case with the 5.1 builds too. I get issues with "you have tried to change the api from what has been previously released in" while building and i have to manually remove 4 lines from the output folder's api txt file. but i was convinced thats just a part of using lunch instead of brunch. i also jacked around with the fingerprint for no real sane reason but reverted it in my local trees. the latest build is dex preopted but the first builds(generic no changes) arent and they still have this issue
wait, could it be that we dont init gps and ril? https://github.com/lgrootnoob/andro...mmit/9f67333ee281c1b7fcc5c2ae04eb899a14b4b1ee https://github.com/lgrootnoob/andro...mmit/5d8effadf263a8a22809f3d3751245351c2c11eb
im basically at your mercy here. whatever you say to do, ill be ready to build and try it
