Hey guys,
I have made an organization in GITHUB for the development of our Galaxy Grand 2. It is fully open source, so everyone is requested to join it. We can all work together to port Roms and Kernels (like CM, Carbon,Paranoid etc.) I request everyone to join it even if you are not a professional developer.

So I'm seeing two different release types here, one from the cyanogenmod branches here:
http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#q,status:merged,n,z
(and built roms here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425631),
and then the Kang project here:
https://github.com/AOKP
(and forum post her: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459287)
Are these the same thing? The commit logs for each branch sort of line up but not really. What's the difference?
Kangs are unofficial Cyanogen builds created by members of the community. They're not supported by the Cyanogenmod team. Sometimes you'll find that they aren't supported by the person who cooked it. Sometimes the "chef" of the Kang will throw in extra mods or config options, sometimes they'll just compile from Cyanogen source.
In this case, the Kang rom you are referring to is built and supported by Romanbb who is building off of the experimental (read: non-final) builds of Cyanogenmod. He cooks certain tweaks into the rom as he builds it. In this case, it's just a matter of development and support.
Basically:
AOKP = Roman's tweaks on Cyanogen (Unofficial, no CM support)
Cyanogenmod = The combined work of the entire Cyanogenmod team. (Official, full CM support)
Hopefully this information was helpful.
awesome, thanks for the info
No problem. Happy flashing!
While the above is sorta correct... I would point out AOKP is not your traditional kang. Roman has tweaks built into the settings menu that make it a top ROM and they support multiple devices.
Any ics ROM is going to be limited by the closed source of Samsung currently, hence the no camera.
