Has anyone been able to share internet connection via Bluetooth? Has the manufacturer or this version of android removed this ability? I tried some apps from the market but its a no go.

I had issues with mine, but resolved it. It would connect, but no internet. I ended up turning on "mock locations" in the
developer options and it started working.
Awesome I appreciate the answer! I will give it a go when I get home. Thanks

So I tried mock location but no success. Seems like the Bluetooth internet sharing option is missing in the WiFi/hotspot options menu.

I meant, what do you do to connect to the internet on your PC.
Try using a static IP address and inputting both DNS servers from your service provider as well as the correct gateway and subnet, works for me at work where DHCP is useless
I tried your way many time but still nô internet, so strange!
Is there any way to wipe wifi settings?

NOOOOO, I TRIED ALL YOUR WAY, AND MY WAY, BUT IT CAN NOT, WHILE OTHER ssid CAN!!
AND HOW DO I DO?
happen to me once, connected to wifi but cant connect to internet
my solution, delete whatever apn setting you have ( i know, apn do not have any link with wifi connection) but yet,
i delete all my apn setting.
then go to setting > application > manage application > tab the all > browser > and hit the clear data, clear cache and clear default.
forget all the network. (delete em all)
turn off wifi connection.
turn off my XPS by hitting both power button and volume up button.
and my problem solved.
if nothing seem to work for you. well factory reset is you last option
if you manage to connect to wifi after switching on you cell and do all the above, i suggest you hit the play store 1st before hitting browser. why ? because my girlfriend having this weird problem on her galaxy y 2.3... connected to wifi but cant connect to the internet. but when she suddenly hit the play store, the problem with browser seem to fix automatically.

I just switched from dad bamf 4.9 to eternity 8-4 on my HTC Thunderbolt. When I try the Wi-Fi hotspots it shows the network is connected, but won't connect to the internet. Is this a known bug that has a fix, or do I have to keep switching roms to use the hotspots?
Also, is there an over locking app to boost the processor?
Thank-you
Kyle

What are your wifi hot spot settings currently? If you're restoring the settings from tibu that could be why it doesn't work. You may try updating the app.

You mean like the security settings in the hotspot app? The security, user name, and PW are all the same as before I loaded the new rom. My kindle fire shows that it's connected to the hotspot, I'm just not getting any internet signal. How would I update the app?
Thank you

Edit: Ok So I downloaded an app called WiFi Tether v3.2 from
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list
there's other versions, but I got the newest. It opens and says it's operational, but on my Kindle, it just keeps saying "obtaining IP address" and won't connect... I have the credentials the same as they were in the stock hotspot app.
You probably need to change the device profile. I don't know whet the kindle uses but try setting it to Google nexus one. Also make sure routing fix is checked

I set the device profile to "Thunderbolt (CDMA/LTE)," changed the channel to 10, and clicked the "Routing Fix" radio button. It's working! However, it will stop working after a while, then I have to reboot my phone to get it to start again. Thank you so much for your Help, disconnecktie.
Are you currently using the Eternity InfectedROM? If you are using it, or are pretty familiar with the ROM, I have a couple more general questions about it.
Thanks Again.
I ran it for about 2 months. I prefer the r248 build over the newer ones. What's the question? Oh and make sure you change your wifi sleep policy to never and that might help with the connection issues you're having.

You need to be more descriptive. What tethering app were you using? If it is wifi tether what were your settings?

If you're in public make sure to use a security method and check access control so other people can't jump on your tether. If you enable access control you have to allow the connection either by selecting it in the pull down or from the menu of the tether.

Ok thanks again
I rooted my OTA VRUAME7 Verizon S4 but can't seem to get wifi tether to work. I've tried both of the newest Wifi Tether for Root (3.3 beta 2 and 3.4 experimental 1). Changing the device-profile to S4 doesn't help. It will start up and say "started with errors." Checking the log results in a "no log file" error.
I also hunted around with SQLite Editor trying to find an entitlement check, and came up empty (to use the built-in mobile hotspot).
Has anyone successfully figured out how to WiFi Tether on a rooted OTA VRUAME7?
Thanks in advance! :good: :good:
To add the hotspot toggle:
Download app => Click Me
Got to => Settings storage
Click => settings.db
Click => system
Search for "notification"
Highlight => notification_panel_active_app_list
Click the edit "pencil"
In the "value" section add "WiFiHotspot;" anywhere you like...
Restart phone
Note: Make sure your list ends with a semi-colon
If you see the warning screen, just hit home.

I'm not referring to a toggle. I'm referring to successfully sharing my 4g with another device using wifi tethering.

That's what this mod does...adding the toggle enables the hotspot. Just hit home if you see the Verizon warning to bypass it. Works, just used it on my S4.

Could it be any easier? So the only danger here is exceeding your data limit?

Are you rooted? I was on frezza's beast mode kernel, all versions seemed to not allow wifi to shut off. Also had problems staying connected to my home wifi. Now I'm not saying the kernel is the problem but when I restored the stock kernel everything works again. Haven't posted in the developers forum but also haven't seen anyone in there with the same issue.
