Hello. I'm not very experienced with android and recently got a new z ultra (6802). I think it came with 4.4.2 or 4.4.3 i'm not sure, but as soon as i turned it on i was notified to update to 4.4.4. All went well and one of the first apps i installed was clean master. I hadnt tried to root the phone and i was thinking about it mostly in order to get rid of some preinstalled apps, but i found out that clean master had an option to "deactivate" them so they disappeared and all was fine. The last few weeks i loaded the phone with all sorts of useless stuff i wanted to try, and today i tried rooting it using this tool and everything worked ok. Then i did a hard reset and started setting everything up again... But this time clean master, root app delete and 2 other apps of the same type wouldnt uninstall system apps (despite having root access now). Any ideas on what to do? Is it because of the root - should i try to unroot it? Where can i find these ftfs needed? I saw some in the forum but they are for 6833..

Well, clean master is one of the app I hate most. Killing app processes frequently and clearing app caches are the bad ideas for android devices because android system always try to restart apps everytime you kill. So it greatly reduces battery life. Clearing caches can make apps to start slowly.
That's not the point, right? But just a suggestion not to use task killers and cache cleaner if you have enough RAM and storage space.
Ok now for your problem not uninstalling system apps,
-Install ES File Explorer
-Tap the upper left of the app (three striped shape)
-Tap Tools, Tap Root Explorer (not on the button "On") giving/allowing/authorize root access
-Now Tap Mount R/W and choose every partition as R/W then Tap OK
-Let's get back to explorer, Tap the upper left box labelled as "/" (it will redirect you to root of the Device)
-Go to "system" folder in explorer
-There are two folders in Kitkat, namely "app" and "priv-app"
You can now choose apps to be uninstalled that you couldn't uninstall inside these folders by removing any apps (and .odex files) by Long pressing on apps and choose multi apps at once.
For me, I don't delete apps that I wanted to uninstall but I cut them and create a new folder on sd card and paste them all in that new folder for later needs (you can navigate to internal or external storage from the upper right box of the Explorer, to create new folder, tap on the button with "+" sign at the bottom left corner of the app). Don't delete apps that you don't know well because doing so can prevent your device from booting up.
P.S. You can also install apps as system ones in that reverse way (copy, paste from external to system/app). Remember not to include space in the name of the app you wanted to install as system.
Remember to restart the devices after moving/deleting apps.
I think you now understand how to do. Good Luck, mate.
Thanks for taking the time to help! and es file explorer looks like a really nice app. i followed your instructions and moved some of the apk and matching odex to sd card. the problem is the apps didnt dissapear from the list and as soon as i was done play store was downloading new versions of the apps i moved... what i dont understand is why it worked in the first place when it was new! could it be the sony firmware it came with? since this failed, is there an app to freeze these things?

One thing I left to say that you must restart your device as soon as you finish moving/deleting system apps. After rebooting, the device system will delete app leftovers. It will solve your problem of not disappearing from the list.

i have found the way to resolve it
i have attached apps copy them to sdcard and to system/app folder using 644 permissions use root explorer (root required)

market, sync, youtube, and many more problems are solved
I was having this issue.. but after a reflash from SEUS it was sorted..
your way sounds much easier.. I had to re-install all my apps again.. root the phone.. delete horrible SE apps etc etc.. took fricken hours! (just because that error seemed to be stopping Market working Grrrrrrrrr!!)
any idea what this gapps app is and what it does? I don't remember deleting it (I generally just get rid of games, user guides etc.. safe stuff, so I was really confused when the error suddenly started popping up)
Cheers for the file tho (I have a copy safely stashed away now for next time!)
the problem i have found is that deleting googleapp.apk and google settings provider. when you do this all other google related apk's malfunction that's where the error comes up

The easiest way around this is (to install a file manager without market).. either use a laptop with BT or find a friend with a bluetooth capable phone and a file manager like astro, stick the file on the laptop/their phone and send it to your phone over BT, once its copied across go to the task bar and select the file and install it. couldn't be easier..
Google talk missing mate ..cud u link me to the apk or upload it?
Thanks
I recommend you not to touch any google.apk's, you can delete googlesearch.apk, enhancedgooglesearch.apk and search.apk, rest of .apk's that have google in its name leave it alone. Also, Setupwizard (or whatever its called (Setup wiz that starts when you first boot your phone or change sim card) is closely related to google.apks and market login, so i recommend you to leave it alone to.
When i deleted it, i was unable to log on my market (when i start marked i only get force close error and my market crashes and i was unable to login to my google acc to do the synh.
Thanks a lot, i wasn't able to copy them directly to the specified folder (i don't have root explorer), but copying the apk to SD and installing them from there seems to solve the error.

for setup wizard, I have deleted it and I can access market without problem.
but, I do sign in into market first before I delete it.
I copied the files to SD and then I installed every single one of them... It worked!
But only to remove the FC message... Still couldnt use Marked... So I reflashed it and recovered with Titanium... 15 mins and I was up n running again...
Thanks dude!!! After days of searching for a solution I downloaded and copied to system\app your pack and it worked.
Now I wonder why these android phones start doing funny things when you try to delete the Google stuff. Maybe that "don't be evil" policy is a thing of the past.
Hi , I downloaded the apps.rar to my phone but it can't extract or install..
it claims the file is empty , even though the filesize says 1,95 MB. Very strange..
I get the com.google.process.gapps error when opening Gmail app.
anyone?

@ The Andropirate... You sir are my new hero for the day anyway! I rooted my phone and my buddies and had this horrid error and market freeze for a couple days now with all kinds of bogus advice on how to fix it.
This IS how to fix the problem!
One thing that was not clear to me was copying the files in root explorer which I did do but it didn't seem to make a difference so I installed the files through root explorer from the SD card and that worked. I then simply installed the files from my friends SD card on his phone without the copy process and that worked. I do not think there is a need to copy the files to system/app. Simply extract to SD and install from there through root explorer.
This fix worked on Alcatel PT-980a and a Motorola Citrus
Im a bit of a n00b and when i rooted my x10 mini i went crazy uninstalling everything. Big thanks! I just copied all the apps to my sd card and installed them using root explorer. All fine now after many panicky hours!
By the way.... if you dont have any apps you need and you have this problem, download them from 4shared.com (when searching type the app name all one word followed by .apk e.g. rootexplorer.apk) and transfer to sd card... easy!
Acer A1 running 2.1
I have an Acer S100 A1 running official Eclair 2.1
Made a factory reset thinking that it would solve this gapps problem...
But no, it still pops up each time after I reboot and market is not working...
No file manager comes with the phone...
I cannot find a way to install the google apps in the first post...
Anyone, please

Is there any possibility to install these apps via recovery? Via .zip or adb?

I have few questions, I don't know if they have been allready answered, I tried searching but with no luck....anyway:
1. Is it possible to extract installation files of app. I downloaded from Android market so I can store themn on PC,so I don't have to download them every time I hard reset my phone.
2. How to export/import Opera Mobile 10.1 bookmarks.
3. Is it possible to disable option in home screen "tap and hold" to add more widgets, because I often excedently keep messing up order of widgets in my pocket and even when I scrool with finger.
4. How to uninstall or at least delete icons in menu of preinstalled demo games and apps.
Sent from my x10 mini PRO using XDA App.
1.
used appmonster
2.

4.
used titanium backup
3.
I don't understand.

You can use Root Explorer and have your phone rooted so you can delete the apps you dont need or copy them from system to sdacard and of course their icon will disappear.
Search in forum about root and deleting apps.
Or look here... is easy to found if you look for: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840356

Uhmm... They r not the same, titanium is like an app manager and root explorer is a explorer, like astro. Yes, you can uninstall with titanium but for unintalling system apps or those that come by default you may need to be root. Havent tried to do it with titanium without been root but it think that you need to have your phone rooted. Just try it if it doesnt work you will have to root to delete those apps :S
And.. Why u dont whant to root?

with rooted phone, to uninstall some DEMO SE apps. and games is it enough to go to /system/apps and delete .apk files that I don't need or is there some more files and folders that belong to those apps. I want to delete....
Yea, delete the apps from /system/app and restart your phone. After that go to Phone settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications, you will see some apps with default icons, and default names like "com.android.****" - uninstall them, and there you go. Nothing left. You can also start Titanium Backup, and clear app cache to be 100% sure that nothing is left in the memory.
My NT is using indirect's root and I had the stock apps removed. Every time I reboot, pandora, netflix, and hulu plus always show back up after I uninstall them. Any clue why they come back after a reboot? My netflix app always asks for an update and I have two copies of pandora on there.
you have to first go to root--->system---->app find the app and delete.
then uninstall
then reboot
(may need to change permissions to delete the crap)
I had this same issue, and one of the best ways to prevent it is before trying to delete/uninstall theme, is to go into the stock app manager and archive everything, this unregistered the flag that says they should be there on the device at all from B&N's perspective, and ensures they won't just suddenly appear again. I had the same issue with Netflix continually reverting to B&N's version instead of the newest version.

how do you archive everything? by the stock app manager i'm assuming you mean the menu where it lists all your apps...
market--->es file explorer
install
open---->top right( star for favs) click. THen select the phone object thing. (/) is under mine
root will open up
click system(should be before vendor folder)
click on App folder(before Bin folder)
select app---> change permissions so you can delete
after delete uninstall that app(which you deleted)
reboot and it should be gone

I rooted my kids GS4, using open1your1eyes0 method here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380325
All went well with that.
I tried to get rid of some of the bloatware using Root Browser, that didn't work so well, so I bought Root Explorer and that worked fine.
It seems that I cleaned a bit too much, I took off some things the kid wanted, including the accuweather app (widget) and while the Google Play icon is still on the phone, it does't work.
I figured no problem, I copied the entire system/app folder from an untouched GS4 to my hard drive, then copied the apk's for Google Play and Accuweather to the rooted GS4's Sd card and tried to install from there. It went thought the motions, but when it was done the screen read "App Not Installed".
I then moved the apk's to the phone and put them into the system/app directory and tired again, same "App Not Installed".
any ideas how to re-install these?
You don't want to install system apps, just use Root Explorer and copy them to your system/app folder (make sure you hit the "Mount R/W" button) set the permissions on both files and reboot.
If you are not sure what to set permissions at long press on an existing app and select permissions and see which boxes are checked.
That should get you fixed up.

Hi guys. So I installed Clean Master the other day, played around with it, and decided to remove it.
Now I'm trying to reinstall it but it's giving me the error "Unknown error during application install -504". (see attached screenshot)
I've tried to delete all app file entries in root explorer, (which always works for me whenever I encounter this kind of issue) but it didn't work. I've tried to clear cache and data for Google Play Store, Google Play Services, and Download Manager, tried to to reboot the phone. Also tried switching from wifi connection to my mobile data connection just in case, and none of these worked. I even tried to clean junk files using another cleaner app, then tried to reinstall Clean Master, still no luck.
the reason why i want to reinstall it is I have a couple of apps that i prevented to auto-load in background upon bootup (using clean master). when I uninstalled clean master, i noticed that those app i prevented to auto-load are no longer listed in my app drawer but i browsed my phone and it's still installed. I figured i wanted to undo all things i did with clean master because when i removed that app, i forgot to undo everything first.
I also found some left over junks of Clean Master buried in emulated/0 path which is CM_backup which i believe is from a cloud backup app from the same developer of Clean Master (Cheetah Mobile)... I also found another left over file/folder com.cmcm.locker hidden somewhere which i believe is also from Cheetah Mobile. I removed those and still no luck reinstalling Clean Master.
I emailed Clean Master support and I got a reply saying it's a google error and beyond their control. But the staff gave me a couple of suggestions: clear cache and data for Google Service Framework. And remove my gmail account, reboot, and add gmail account again. These didn't solve the issue either.
I'm hoping someone here can help me solve this issue as I need to reinstall Clean Master again. Maybe some of you here is familiar with the other folder locations that Clean Master leaves residual/junk or left-over files that I can remove? I feel that once I remove all left overs, this will solve the problem. It has always worked for me before. It's just that Clean Master is so notorious that there are left-overs hidden deep somewhere and they're not named "cleanmaster" or something similar that's why it's hard to find. I was just lucky to spot CM_backup and com.cmcm.locker.
I'm using an LG phone with Android Lollipop 5.0.2 and it's rooted.
Thanks guys.

Try to re-enable those autostarts for the corresponding apps with ROM Toolbox or Autostarts.
Furthermore try to delete the left-over files from Clean Master with SD Maid.

Hey thanks! ROM Toolbox's autostart manager is great. I probably won't need to reinstall clean master anymore, though would still be nice to remove left overs, so I'll give SD Maid a shot.
