Delete the databases from your phone... place the desired one... clear whatsapp data... re initialize it .... restore msgs and read them... it should work
And yes i guess thats a wrong place to ask

Settings - Applications - Whatsapp - Clear data/cache
put the desired crypt7 file into the folder on your sd card
Whatsapp/Database/<crypt7> file.
then launch whatsapp and restore.
however, do remember to backup your CURRENT chats and place it somewhere else (desktop for example) as nobody is responsible if you lost it yourself.

nope doesnt work, i do everything you said but when im running whatsapp tri crypt it says Decryption failed and Recryption failed.
Ask the person who the messages belong to if you can read their messages?
I don't understand why anyone would want to do this.

Most probably, it is encrypted using the phone number that was used. If you do not have the same number in the mobile, then the decryption will definitely fail.
Whatsapp Xtractor might work as it supports encrypted files also

Heya,
Hence I haven't found anything about this topic (or I'm just dumb), I wanted to post this question.
What I basically want:
- Have all my Apps and their data
- Have all the settings
in one ROM I could flash onto my device in the case that I "accidentaly" brick my phone.
Is there a way to do that?
Cheers.
Use xRecovery.

Alright I am dumb xD. Haven't hought about this one going to test it out in a sec.
Thanks
Edit: So I just got into the Backup & Restore menu and backed up the system, I hope I'm doing everything right.
Sounds like it so far.
Ok I apparently have a folder inside the xRecovery folder. It's named after todays date and there are some system img files etc. in there so I suppose that's it.
Pretty much yes.

If you are talking about xRecovery, all you have to do it make 1 backup, this backs up ALL data/apps/settings (also stuff like call logs, SMS, accounts, boot-animation, themes).
I use restore my main backup multiple times a day when I'm working with ROMs.
If you are talking about a backup that can be restored with X10Flash, well I would also like to know the answer to that.
(how to generate SIN files?)
Is what you guys are talking about like creating a "backup image" like you would for a PC?

Indeed. I need this because of constant rom flashing. I brick my phone way to often and its a hassle to set everything the way it was before.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
hey there
i installed CheckRom V6 on my S2.
I use Titanium Backup to backup and restore all my stuff.
I also use the "minidiary" app from samsung. TitaniumBackup just backed up the Database - for any reason I dont know.
So i tried to manually install minidiary.apk. That does not work, after the installation android just says "application was not installed".
So i tried it manually; I mounted the /system/app folder, to make it readable (using total commander) and pasted the minidiary.apk there. Then a reboot. ( i thought android might have to scan and add the shortcut to my appdrawer after a reboot)
nothing. Anyone has an idea, how i can get back the mini diary app?
thanks in advance
n.
My idea is that u posted in the wrong section
hm. think so? Thought its maybe a checkrom-related problem. If not, would be great if a mod can move the fred.

Well even if it is why are you creating a topic instead or replying to the actual roms thread? If you look at topics in this section for a few seconds, does it look like your topic in any reality belongs here?
This section is for developments not for random help posts, questions, requests, etc, if you want to create a topic do it in correct section.

Search this multiple asked question before posting ..
Undelete pro and hexamob recovery may work from the market .
Basically you are unlikely to recover anything .

guys, i really do need any help i can get, this is very important.
I know this is an old thread, but I think that folder is created by something from Cheetah Mobile, like CM Security or Clean Master.
I have the following issue that needs someone to answer in detail please.
I have deleted my whats app account , I did this by using a new device as my old device was lost.
I have changed my mobile number and removed all back ups from google drive.
My issue is this - I am to believe there are backups stored on the internal memory of a phone ( seriously how many back ups does an app really need )
As I have deleted my whatsapp account will it still be able for someone to retrieve my whats app back ups from file manager or what ever internal storage ?
I HAVE ALSO CHANGED MY MOBILE NUMBER. So as to prevent any reinstall of app as old number would be needed for verification code
How far back do backs up go that are stored this was way ?
If deleted messages that were removed a few weeks prior will they show any where on these back up files ?
Regards

Your answer is no
When you delete your account your chat backup are just a trash
And nodody will access your phone data untill delete all of your data!(if you didn't turn on USBdebug or installed TWRP)
