My phone is EVO 4g lte, s-on Hboot 2.09 radio 1.13.11.0830 with twrp 2.7.1 rooted and unlocked. I flashed cyanogenmod 10.2 and flashed kernel using adb. I cannot get Gapps to install at all, it says it flashed correctly in twerp, when I reboot the apps are not there. what am I doing wrong?
Try doing a full wipe, install the ROM and kernel, then reboot the phone. Once the OS loads, reboot to recovery and flash the Gapps. Then reboot again and see if they're there. I also suggest installing a stock rooted ROM and gaining S-off in the near future.

Hey guys,
I cant get any ice roms to work although they seem to be installed correctly. I tried cm9 and the s4x ones. I'm on an EVO 3d gsm with s-on and revolutionary cwm. Running on leedroids rom. So when I install them I reset back to factory then install it. So far so good but after I restart I'm stuck on the HTC bootscreen.
There are several options available to you:
1. Get S-OFF (isn't required thanks to number 2 & 3)
2. Get 4Ext Recovery. It will flash the kernel when you flash the ROM.
3. flash boot.img through fastboot (fastbot flash boot boot.img)
now i just need to know where i get this infamous boot.img^^
alrighty all done thanks for the help
I am using a htc evo v 4g. I used htcdev to unlock it, flashed twrp, and flashed mazda's unofficial aokp jelly bean rom and gapps. Now the phone is bootlooped. I am s-on hboot 1.57. Any help would be appreciated.
Get s-off. That usually fixes bootloops since it forces the kernel to flash correctly.
Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
Get s-off, install eng 1.4 bootloader, install 4ext recovery, format and wipe, install rom.
sudo passwd root

Hard ware Version: 2
Stock Rooted 2.89
Has anyone else had this problem
I am almost certain that it is OP Error!!! ( as I am still a noob 2 yrs after having Android)
Any advice on how i can have my old JB Rom back on my phone. cause i miss having long battery life!!! 12 hours with a 4,000mah Battery vs 7 hrs on Stock with the same battery.
Try:
1. Run ruu.exe.
2. Flash 1.4 revolutionary hboot
3. Flash custom recovery (either 4ext or twrp)
4. Flash custom ROM like zr3dxl or homebrew.
I was having bootloops and doing everything in that order worked for me.
Thank you!!! It helped. Still
Wondering why that happened. But it works now!

I can't tell you exactly why, but it seems that flashing a complete RUU can sometimes fix problems that result from from flashing bits and pieces of firmware (such as radios or bootloaders) or taking an OTA for an upgrade. This has even been recognized by HTC in their advice on the htcdev.com website to flash an RUU if you are having problems with the unlock procedure and have taken OTA updates, even when completely stock.
Here's a post where I provide some more information about this, but I still can't tell you exactly what causes problems. I have found that once I flashed the 2.89.651.2 RUU.exe I can switch bootloaders without any problems.

I have a "rooted" Amaze with 4EXT recovery- I cannot install a new rom, recovery or check for root as it always says root is not there.
I don't know what else to say except it was rooted, now it's not. I've tried to RE-root to no avail. What would you guys/gals recommend?
So why can't you install a new Rom when you're running a dom and have 4ext recovery? Just download and flash it.

Well, you don't need root to flash a new Rom or recovery so that shouldn't be a problem.
I actually had the same thing happen the other day, running a different setup (NRG with Faux kernel, when suddenly I lost root. What you can try doing is just reflashing the same you are running, without wiping data, just try wiping cache and dalvik, and then flash it right over the top of your current Rom. Reboot and see if its fixed. If not, do a full wipe, then flash whatever Rom u want

Thanks I hope to fix my htc.
What recovery did you use? Did you ever flash the boot.img after flashing the ROM? Also, you can't run a RUU without really being S-OFF. If you want some good ROMs, try out Chucktr's CM 11, bunchies Liquid smooth 3.2, or some other newer ROMs. Any should do. But after flashing them in recovery. You have to flash the boot.img manually in fastboot. Or else you will be stuck on boot logo forever. If you want to get back to stock, we can do that after you get booted.
