Hi everyone.
I bought a used HTc Rhyme which has some custom ROM flashed with cid HTCCN701. (I am guessing its custom because it has application I have never seen on a standard Htc stock Rom, plus it doesn't have Google Play either).
I actually want to flash a standard stock/official ROM on this phone, and so far I can only find one ROM with this cid at tsar3000
But the problem is that the phone's current rom version is 2.12.1400.1 and the available rom version is 1.42.1400.6, which is an older version so naturally when i try to flash it gives me and error of older hboot.
So the problems are,
-Getting a newer rom version, which i can't find.
-Get s-off / super cid so that I can flash any Rom, but I can't find a way to do that.
I am stuck here and don't know what to do. I have rooted the phone and unlocked its boot loader but that's it. Please tell me a solution to this problem. What should i do? Thanks

Hello all.
Im going to install the mrbang rom or mcr to my Hero, but I need to update the radio to 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 and atm Ive got 6.35.06.18.
Should i just name it update.zip and use recovery image to flash?
Will I ever need to downgrade?
Thanks!
OK, I've tried to look some more around
Im now certain that I will flash it like with any ROM. But Im still unsecure what the radio is really doing and how risky it is? Ill download this file:
http://www.romraid.com/paul/hero/update-hero-radio-63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26-signed.zip
From the Modaco page.
ATM I am running HTC Generic 2.73.405.66 pre-rooted and using RA-hero 1.6.2.
My hero is GSM no branded european model.
Going to install Villain, MCR or MrBang ROM
Hope for some answers, once again thank you
EDIT: .. I just did it, and successfully updated radio for my device. No problems there.
same pb here too!
trying to reflash radio hopin' it's gonna work again!
Hi, you can flash any Radio so long as it is for your type of phone i.e. GSM (in europe) and most likely CMDA if your in the usa.
Just flash it like a rom, and be prepared to wait a good few minutes on first reboot.
Also as another note the EU in the radio name does not mean Europe it is just some HTC internal coding and can just be ignored .
hello. i downloaded same radio but couldn't flash it. since i'm old wm user, can you please write down here how i can flash this radio. i unzipped the file but seems different...
The easiest way to flash things on android is to install a "custom recovery menu" from there your phone flashes the file straight from the zip, you don't need to unzip anything.
install a custom recovery image from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561124
if you already have this, then its a simple matter of flashing the radio like and rom
Hi guys, thanks a lot for your time!
I have previously rooted my HTC Hero on 3UK. The other day, having mixed up a Modaco 3.2 (1.5 sense) ROM for an update, I flashed this zip after wiping everything. Unfortunately, I then realised that I was stuck on 1.5 with no custom bootloader which lets me flash new roms to get rid of the old Modaco one.
I've tried the 3UK RUU and it just says can't connect. I even made a goldcard and tried to unroot it that way.
Please help - how can I get back into a position where I can flash a new, updated ROM?
Any help appreciated!
Hey Guys I've bought a HTC one x+ in Germany which I rooted time ago. Now I just want to unroot my device to get the original HTC Sense 5 Android 4.2.2 update. My problem is I dont have a any backups nor find any RUU with the following CID version: 1.17.206.1

seems like you have a phone with o2 cid, so your out of luck, there's no ruu that worsk with that version.
but there's a german forum i recently found, where you can find stock backups (including boot.img) and stock recoveries.
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-cu...04-one-x-plus-ruu-s-fuer-htc-o2-vodafone.html
just put the backup into the right folder on your phone, make sure CWM/TWRP recognizes this backup, then flash stock boot.img in fastboot, restore stock backup in your recovery, flash stock recovery in fastboot and finally relock bootloader.
then your phone should be back to stock software.
thank you so far. another problem is I somewhere I have to delete Superuser and relock my bootloader to flash the stock rom. Thats why I deleted Superuser and locked my bootloader again. My question is now can I still flash to stock rom or do I have unlock bootloader again ?

you probably need to unlock your phone again.
as soon as you restored the stock backup, everything you had on your phone except internal storage will be replaced by stock software, all settings will be reset, all userdata will be wiped!!!
so better backup/copy everything you need to your computer before you restore that backup.
Hi!
I recently got an HTC Desire X, my first Android phone, and I decided to try CyanogenMod. However, I ended up with a bricked (turn on, HTC logo, carrier logo, HTC logo, freeze) phone, so now all I'd love is to get the stock ROM back.
Here's what I did:
1. Unlocked my bootloader following the instructions on htcdev.com
2. Installed CWM recovery
3. Followed the instructions for CM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337389), rebooted
4. Cursed a lot
The problem is, I didn't check my HBOOT version, or my CID - being new to all this, I didn't even realize I should have - and they're the main problem.
The stock ROM I found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239511) requires HBOOT 1.25.0002 (Mine is 1.24.0000).
Other ways I found were for specific CIDs I don't have - my CID is T-MOB004 (I got this phone from a Czech carrier, and I thought the customization goes only skin deep - guess not).
I have no idea what to do now, and I'd love if anybody could be of any help. Thank you!
I'm not at a computer so I can't give links. But search for thr ICS nandroid backup thread in general. There are stock backups for your hboot there
Does the different CID not matter, then?
I'm sorry, but it looks like the links to the TMOB backup are down atm. So you won't be able to return to stock. What you can do, however, is flashing an ICS Sense ROM (like ShadowDX or similar) along with the correct boot.img. Also, you could try a JB ROM of your choice together with Infinity kernel (it's the only JB sense kernel fitting in ICS hboot). That kernel can be found here.
I was just about to post how flashing a correct hboot ROM didn't work, but then it booted up as it should, yay. I suppose that was all there was to it, to flash a correct ROM
I'll make back-ups from now on, thanks!
Hello,
I wanted to have newer android and have rooted and flashed HTC Amaze with Hasoons toolkit using TWRP recovery system. After flashing Cyanogenmod 10 ROM through ADB Sideload and flashing Cyanogenmod 10 ROM kernel (boot.img file which was included in the zipped folder) manually with Hasoons toolkit, the phone started to boot normally, load welcome screen, but after several seconds it freezes and then restarts. Can you please help what can be the cause of this problem and how can I repair? The phone is rooted and bootloader unlocked, but its still S-ON.
Before installing the Cyanogenmod I have tried to flash other ROMs, but on all of them after flashing kernel, the phone was freezing on booting mode and then just restarting continuously.
I hope there should be some way out and the phone is not bricked. If something I have backed up the data and will try to restore, but would prefer to repair Cyanogenmod ROM.
Thank you guys in advance for your help.

Did you follow the directions posted in the pinned threads at the top of the forums and update to ICS before unlocking and flashing these other ROMs?
I ask because if you say you're unlocked, but s-on, and you need to be on an ICS radio baseband prior to flashing any newer ROM. If you were already on ICS prior to these flash attempts then I suggest you try again with the latest version of 4ext instead of TWRP, and make sure to enable smart-flash. TWRP doesn't flash kernels properly on HTC handsets with s-on, while 4ext does when smart-flash is enabled. Of course all of this comes with the stipulation that you're doing this on a T-Mobile US version handset.
If you're on an Asian or non-branded international version it gets a bit more complicated because you must attain s-off before attempting to flash. This is because these handsets never got an ICS update. So there is no carrier image to flash to, and the only way to install the updated firmware with the ICS baseband is to attain s-off first then flash the T-Mobile US image.
Again, if you haven't I strongly suggest reading the pinned threads at the top of the different forums here as they contain all of the info you need to successfully flash your device to an updated ROM. Good luck.
Ciao

Thank you for information. It is non-branded international version. It means I will have to try S-off and then flash the ROM with 4ext.

Please read the pinned threads first. You're going to have to relock your bootloader before proceeding, so save the binary unlock blob you got from HTC as you'll need it to unlock again. Place the stock image in the root of your external SD card and flash from hboot. Then after getting s-off and superCID then you can flash the T-Mobile ICS image. Again read the pinned threads thoroughly or you'll be posting about how to unbrick your handset. Good luck.
Ciao
I had the same issues and had to turn off security with the joupunut bear program. Just to be safe with future flashing I've understood it works best. You should first s-off your phone and then go about flashing whichever firmware you want. Make sure you upgrade to the stock ics rom first as a pre requisite towards flashing any other rom and you'll be fine. Do a search on the stuff needed to gain s-off here in the forums. Report back if you need more assistance
