I am fed up with the garbage charging cables, literally every month I have to buy a new USB cable. I have tried many different companies and they all break after 1 month or less of use. BTW I am travelling Europe so anything here would be great. BTW I've spent about $100 in just USB cables.
P. S
I've just lost my **** because a cable I bought 3 weeks ago stopped working an hour ago. I can't warranty it because like I said I'm traveling.

Cables I use
I have two of these:
((Can't Post Links... It's $7.99 on Amazon, just search this "aLLreli® 10ft 3M Premium Gold Plated USB 3.0 Supper Speed Data Sync Charger Charging Braid Cable - Extra Long"))
One for my Note 3, and the other for my Note 12. They are braided, long, and hella durable. I would say my only complaint is that the braided cable is thick, and sometimes hard to coil up to fit in a tight bag.

I've never had issues with the original cables.. I also use the (prettymuch identical) Note 3 cables.
Just find a Mediamarkt or Saturn or Conrad and look for reinforced gold-plated USB3 cables.
Also, perhaps it's an idea to change your methods of storing the cables. Mine have been everywhere from folded in the bottom of my bag to tangled in a suitcase with tons of junk, never had one break on me.
I can't say that I actually paid any attention to charge cables. I connect my Note Pro to whatever charger is nearest to me, the original one or other USB 2 cables from mobile phones. Never had any problems.

honestlyI hate to say it but I bought exactly that cable from amazon uk . It was the worst one out of the 12 cables I bought in the past 6 months . It broke after 2 days of use Just stopped charging and fitting in the Slot. Right now I'm on my 13th cable which costs me $ 10 usb 2.0 and its lasting me about a month so I'm getting ready for it to die again

I hate to say it donkon, but I've had the opposite experience. I too have the aLLreli cable, and it has worked great for me. Other than maybe a 2M option, 10 feet IS a little long, the cable is great. It connects solidly, allows me to read in bed while having it plugged in, and send to be a good cable.

I'm starting to think my galaxy note 12.2 might be the culprit as I have never had a problem on any device. Before a cable dies I get an alert that my tablet is too hot and it will not charge . Next event is my cable stops completely working.
Sent from my SM-N910F (Note 4)
Could be, how do the contacts within the tablet's port look? Anything bent or misaligned?
Only other possibility is the charger itself.
The port looks good to my knowlegde but I've had a couple cables have pieces come out of their ports after using them a couple times. But I think that might be cable qaulity related. 1 have my original new Note 4 adapter I was contemplating to try but I am afraid that will get broken too if I use it with the tablet

Yeah I wouldn't try. I keep that one reserved for my Note 4 since the tip has a unique feel to it (the shape) just so I know which one is connected to the special fast charger for the Note 4.

For that price, it better not break down. I have been using these two cables without issue all year.
Just for charging on my nightstand:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NUZ8BVM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Longer one for sitting on the couch using the Note when the battery needs charging:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JRX2LEE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (very well made cable)
I've used both the expensive and the cheapos to varying degrees of success. Some of the better cables don't fit well into some devices due to the protective cases. . As much as I want to use Samsung cables when the kid destroys one it hurts(I am guilty too) so I buy the cheapos off ebay by the dozen. Seldom have had an issue and they last a good while . I just trash em at first sign of getting worn.

Just a selly question what is the recharging time for the 905 device?
It's spelled 'silly' not selly.
Can't say for 905 but my 900 wifi charges in 3.5 hours from almost dead battery.

I agree with jthatch, but I have also loved the cables I got from the ol' cable heaven of Monoprice. You can get 1.5ft-15ft from 65 cents to $1.75 for the longest cable. I bought five 3ft and a 10ft for less than $5 and now there are cables wherever I need one. Monoprice Micro USB cables.
I'm switching from iPhone to the note 3. As a result, I will need to replace all of my chargers. I would like to order about 6 chargers and I want them to be a little longer than normal because I would constantly get fed up with the short apple cable. The new chargers should be the correct voltages for the Note. I would prefer the cable to be detachable from the power supply. Is there a goto charger that you guys use? Thanks!
Gotta see what voltage the note3 will carry. Also do you want all the cables to be the Micro USB 3.0 or 2.0?

Well from what I've read, USB 2.0 will charge just as fast from a wall outlet. I will just use the one USB 3.0 that comes with phone for my computer. So I will primarily be using these from a wall charger so I'll go with whichever one is cheaper.
You can also just goto Amazon.com and look for microUSB 3.0 cables and find plenty of them since its an industry standard and you don't have to pay $29 for a cable like apple rips their isheep off with.

Just a tip-- When I had my Note 2, I purchased extra USB cords from E-Bay. It might not hurt to check Samsung's website and look at the product name/ID for their OEM items, and then just get a few of those off E-Bay or Amazon. the native Samsung A/C Adapter with the powerful amps makes a huge difference too. and you can almost always get it for under $10.

Theres no point for usb 3 cables, they only add data pins. BUT if you plug into a real usb 3 port/computer, the phone MAY tell it to send higher wattage.

Also, you can use your micro usb chargers, just plug it into the bigger side of the usb 3 socket. It won't be long before we all have a bunch of usb 3 cables lying around though, as more hard drives and stuff come with them.
Oh wow so that's why the new port looks that way, backwards compatibility!! Nice oh problem solved, I still need a longer cable as my usb3 socket is a bit awkward to get to on my PC, so I wil look at the suggested weblink and see what happens,

anyone know if this is like the note 1, where you use a non-samsung cable, the charging voltage was reduced? there was some command to run in a terminal window that showed charge current. i don't recall.
i don't know if that's what did it, but at some point my note1's battery got ruined..where i couldn't get more than 10 minutes off the charger without a forced reboot. and all sorts of weirdness.

I've used non OEM cables and wall plugs, and it charges the same.
USB 2.0, USB 3.0 doesn't make a difference. OEM, non OEM doesn't make a difference.
OEM puts out at least 2 amps. Alot of other chargers put out much less so it will take longer to charge.

I just wanted to let people know that Scosche just released a new dual 2.4A car charger. This is not a car charger that splits 2.4A between two ports, but one that has full 2.4A per port. You can charge tablets and phones at the same time. What I love about this charger, is that it sits flush in the car. No stick protruding out.
I used to have their older model, the 2.1A dual car charger USBC202M. I purchased it in May. When I saw that they had this one available on their site, I asked a representative through chat if I could exchange my USBC202M for the USBC242M one. He said sure and gave me the info on how to do the exchange. I only paid the shipping to them and got a brand new item. I did not send the original box or anything. Great customer service!
I will try this later on. I have a dedicated USB charge only cable so I will not run into any of the charging issues that some people might have using a data/charge cable.
The USBC202M and USBC242M are listed as the same price on SCOSCHE's website. The USBC242M is not up on Amazon yet, which is where I purchased the original charger.
Link to USBC242M: http://www.scosche.com/chargers/ipad-usb-car-charger-two-port
Link to the charge only cable I am using (nice 5ft): http://www.amazon.com/Specialised-M...=UTF8&qid=1385138950&sr=8-1&keywords=portapow . I like how it is a little thinner than the Mediabridge 6ft one that everyone seems to be using. And the connections are a little less bulkier as well so I am able to connect with my phone that is using a Spigen Slim Armor.
Pics up soon.

It's like any other USB cable, you just plug it in to a USB port. It allows AC charging regardless if you plug it into an AC adapter or a USB port on your PC. This will not allow any data when used in a PC.

USBC202M

Dual 10 WATT (2.1A) USB Ports
http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-USBC202M-Charger-works-iPhone/dp/B0077PM3KG
It is only $16 which is a lot less than $24
UPDATE
I see the difference. The packaging you have a picture of has that Model number listed as USBC242M not USBC202M
The lesser should be more than adequate for the Note 3 as it exceeds the 1.8A it will really use at the most.

Yeah. I had the original USBC202M that you see on Amazon. I paid that back in May. I contacted Scosche through chat on their website (took about 30 min before someone was even available) and asked if I could just swap it with the newer model since they were selling it for the same price. He just needed the receipt (which showed my cost of $16) when I send my original one. It was done as a warranty exchange since it was within a year.
I know 2.4A is more than enough but this is great if you also wanted to charge a tablet as well. Or if people were running kernels that allowed more than 1.8A charging.

Yeah I had totally missed that until I saw this thread. After posting the question I looked at the port and saw that it is a two in one port. Just the other day I was bummed that I forgot the N3 charging cable at home. I spent all day reserving battery when I had my S4 cable in my bag the whole time. Doh!
I am getting one of these. So basically this is overkill right? Since 1.8a is max? Does the charge only cable benefit more in any way than a charge/data cable or are the charging amps the same?
Update.
I ended up getting the less amp USBC202M via Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0077PM3KG and ordered two Charging MicroUSB cables also from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009W34X1I
The cables are designed for full charge (just like being plugged into an AC charger) but in the car. I can charge my Note 3 and Tablet both with 1800mA each. The cables are straight 6FT heavy cables which are hard to break, and give you lots of room to use the phone or tablet while it is plugged in.
Just like having AC power in the car/truck with fast charge times
The difference between wall charging and usb charging, is that the wall charger ties the two usb data pins together. Phones detect that and charge slower on usb to protect computer ports from high current drain. Good car chargers solder together the two data pins to cheat the phone into thinking that is connected into a wall charger and thus charge the fastest possible.
You could find usb cables that internally connect the data pins, however that cable won't allow you to send data.
This applies to most usb charged devices, like android, iphone, ipad, etc.

Don't worry. If the charger is required more power than is able to provIde it will just cut to the top.
Output of that plug states 10v 12w
Official note 3 charger is 5.3v 2amp I cant see how this could be good for your phone/battery.

Obviously this is a mistake, it's referring to input voltage.
12V USB Adapter
Input Voltage: 10-16V
USB Output Voltage: 5VDC, Dual 12 Watt (2.4A)
http://www.scosche.com/chargers/ipad-usb-car-charger-two-port
Note that some car chargers allow 12-24V because you can use also trucks and vans for charging. Doesn't seem the case for Scosche.
There is so much information contradicting this that is hard to follow.
To me the stand is not important but I do want the cable. If speeds is bad on the other or any other risks like being able to connect inverse etc, then I rather pay for the DK30 and get it over with.
Also, I have seen some cheap adapters only to which you can connect any usb cable. That would be awesome but the fact I dont see them mention much implies they are not good...or not?

Thanks!

I have used both the EC21 and the knockoff magnetic cable and I do not see a difference in the ones that I have as far as charging is concerned. They both charge at the same rate regardless of which block I use which im starting to think is dependent on how much the phone wants to take in and not so much which block I use. I have tried a galaxy S3 charging block, stock XZU block, and the first gen ipad block and they all show the same charging speeds despite the difference in amperage. Can anyone else verify this for me? I know the ipad block should charge the phone faster since its a 2.1A block, but I am not seeing the speed. I have seen others get charging times around 2 hours and under but mine is no where near those times as it takes upwards of 3 hours to get from 35% to full.

Also, I have seen some cheap adapters only to which you can connect any usb cable. That would be awesome but the fact I dont see them mention much implies they are not good...or not?
Adapter
Thanks!

Since these Chinese knock-offs don't have official names, thus making their identification difficult, we would never know for sure which types people are talking about.
But I have one at home, one at office (EC-21 and copy) and they do charge at different rates.
Even thought the copy version is more user friendly due to stronger magnets, I can tell you that EC-21 charges to the phone to full from any % in under 4 hours. Same cannot be said for the copy, which does have a thinner cable.
I have woken up from a 6 hour sleep a few times to find my phone not fully charged. (yes, all apps were closed and nothing should have been sucking the power)
I have seen 2 variants of EC-21
Ones that come with the DK-30 dock, which cannot charge from USB ports on PC, and the EC-21 sold as EC-21, without the dock. This type has a chunkier USB connector which allows you to connect to PC and charge.
The one I have is the cable-only EC-21

this is the knockoff I have.
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=200964395431
as far as the EC21 cable, I took mine out of the DK30 dock since my phone now fits in between both adapters.
I've never woken up to a not fully charged phone when using the knockoff one. I did notice it took longer to fully charge when I use knockoff at work with generic 1.0A block at work, but that's because I have music streaming as well as instant messages flooding in, so that isn't surprising.
after you mentioned that your knockoff cable had a thinner cable, I checked mine and saw that it was a hair thinner but almost the same thickness. I have attached pictures. is that what you're talking about in terms of "thinner"?
has anyone else purchased the cable that I bought off eBay and can give any other feedback on it?

How are you guys checking the input power exactly? I tried an app but could never figure it out :/ lol

It is hard to judge whether the thickness of the cable is the same for my knockoff, but I can say that my knock off is not the one you have posted the link for. The differences I can see though, are that the USB connector on mine is smaller, whereas the one you posted has the beefier/chunkier USB connector, suggesting that this cable allows it to charge via USB ports on PCs (the one on ebay you posted has the USB connector part looking similar in size to my EC-21, the version which is not the one included in the DK-30 set). Also the magnetic connector is a bit bigger on my knockoff (probably explaining the better sticking power to my Z Ultra compared to EC-21)
I forgot to mention in previous post that the only factor influencing the charge rate is the cable itself, because I have 2 x original Sony chargers (same model)

I bought one of those adapter. Not really a good deal. The magnet isn't too strong to offset the usb weight. And if u aren't careful u could inverse connection and. Well the phone did not die but u do have to reset it for it to work again.

Indeed. I got one and barely used it.
Just got my xzu. Been reading and searching for a genuine magnetic charging cable. From what I have read there is no official magnetic charger cable made by Sony. So is something like: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Son...l_Phone_PDA_Chargers&var=&hash=item461de4c1f1 fake?
This is my first USB C device so I don't have a lot of information if I should be just purchasing random USB C cords on Amazon to charge my OP6T at work. Any suggestions or information on what type of cord I should get would be helpful. I would like to purchase 2-3 cords in different lengths if possible (one for work as mentioned, one for the car, and one for my battery pack).
USB c has been out long enough to trust the reviews of them on Amazon. Just check the ratings and read some of the reviews
I'll put in a high vote for anything Anker.

I have a USB-A--> USB-C cable from Anker. Definitely can't complain.
I have been using the Aukey cables without any issues so far. Get the longer ones for data and the shorter ones if you are only using it for charging.
I've had a couple that worked fine elsewhere but would not dash (yeah I now they lost the right to use that name) charge my OnePlus devices, I'd read the reviews and make sure you're ordering something that's going to leverage your charger. I've got a couple older OnePlus cables in the drawer which I'm assuming will work but I cant prove it until the 6th.
If you want fast charge you have to use the originals. If you want spares you can get some in AliExpress for a reasonable-ish price.
If you want cables to use with batteries or don't care about fast charge, I find that TOPK cables are pretty good, cheap too. They usually come in several colours, have cord and are pretty flexible.
An engineer at Google, Benson Leung, took it upon himself to test many cables for standards compliance. I cannot get his site to load, but I found this article that lists some of his approved cables. http://buyandroidchargers.com/list-of-benson-leungs-usb-c-google-engineer-usb-c/
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S8GU544/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dkTJBbN069J3Z
Based on the recommendation here https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/accessories/ordinary-usb-cables-support-dash-t3838411
I wanted a longer cable to plug into my computer, as well as a couple of additional cables to charge at work and in my car. I am also purchasing the OPPO charger for work as well, since it can be had cheaper than the OnePlus wall wart.
These are replacing worn out and slower type C cables.
I thought if you want fast charge you have to use the charger. The cable can be any quality cable

AFAIK USB type A side has additional pins for DASH/Fast Charge. That's why it won't work on any other cables.

I read on OnePlus site that if you want fast charge you have to use their supplied cable or equal too.
I have a few of these aftermarket ones from amazon, work fine with dash charging.

I was going to say, I haven't had a look see for a while but this morning I hit Amazon and there are a number of cables that work with dash charge according to the reviews. Some that don't, also according to the reviews. My big takeaway was half the price of the official goods so I went ahead and ordered the same one the fellow above me linked because it's the first one I ran into that was 6 ft instead of a meter. Glad to here someone got there first and it worked: Amazon reviews are good but I have more faith in a thumbs up from a fellow phone person.
Anker all the way.

Can you link a fast charge cord or adapters from AliExpress? I swear I never know what's fake on that website. I've ordered a few things from them before but only on smaller purchases.
I ordered one from Amazon .. it comes from shenzen China. Where most electronics are made in China..
It's literally a official OP cable but packaged in a generic box.
I tested and it works for dash charge..
It's exactly the same except it says dash on the tip .
And it was under $7
I'll post a link of anyone shows interest

Post it bro
I asked my friend in Asia to buy me some Oppo chargers and OP 1.5m dash cable. It costs around $3 for the Oppo charger and $4 for the cable. Also bought the dash car charger for under $10.
