[GUIDE] How to degrade from 4.3 to 4.1.2 easily - Galaxy Note II Themes and Apps

Hello guys..
Here em back to guide you how to return back to stock 4.1.2 firmware...
As you all have heard that samsung has implemented knox counter in 4.3 MK4 firmwares and later and if that counter goes 1 you r unable to return to your stock 4.1.2....So here's a simple guide how you can do It safetly.....
(Make sure you have 4.1.2 stock firmware on your sdcard )
1) Download the CM 10 rom which which has a base of 4.1.2 from below link...gapps not necessary in this procedure....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968949
2) Now boot to twrp or philz and wipe data cache and dalvik and flash the rom.....After done booting install mobile odin pro from PS or from anywhere else...
3) Now load the 4.1.2 firmware in mobile odin (partitions will be set automatically) and start the firmware flash....
[Dont forget to inject root, supersu and mobile odin ]
4) Now you will be successfully on 4.1.2 firmware but at this time you will loose your IMEI [simcard etc.. will not work...]..But dont worry...as you have mobile odin pro preinstalled...
Load the TWRP .img.tar file in the odin and start to flash....TWRP will be flashed successfully....
5) Now flash your countries selected MODEM in twrp from the below link...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044937
6) Now reboot your phn and you will be having back your 4.1.2 with imei back and simcard n all working...
7) Just enjoy the smoothness
NOTE:- If you want to downgrade from 4.4 to 1.2 then you cant directly degrade....you will first have to flash 4.3 and then 1.2 ...
2)Flash modem of your country only otherwise sim will not work....
3) MOST IMP:- Dont directly flash 4.1.2 on 4.3....make sure u go to cm10 first otherwise the 1.2 will badly lag and defunction....
(TRIED MY MYSELF)
[ The entire procedure above has been tried by me myself 2 to 3 times so there shldnt be any probs....if its there you can post here ]...
If you like my Guide then Press the THANKS :thumbup: button below the post.....
Thankyou guys...have a nyc day...

There are loads of guides to help you like:
http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-ap...ck-android-rom-on-samsung-galaxy-s2-50007880/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365701
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650919
However, I'll outline the basic steps.
Boot you phone into Recovery Mode and then (assuming you are running CWM) select 'wipe data/factory reset'. This will clear all the apps and contacts and messages etc. you have on your phone but it will keep the internal storage intact.
Open Odin. Make sure that only F Reset Time, Auto Reboot and PDA are checked. Click the PDA button and navigate to the stock FW file.
Plug in your phone and make sure that it says 'Added' on Odin.
Then click 'Start'! It will flash the stock FW on your phone. This may take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. Just be patient. If the flashing succeeded then Odin should say removed and the your phone will reboot.
This first boot may take around 5 minutes. If the boot animation stays for more than 30-45 minutes then you are stuck in a bootloop. Look up on the forums on how to fix that. Now you should have stock JB on your phone!
Sorry if the guide was a bit too simple but I have no idea of how advanced you are.
Unless he doesn't have an I9100, but nice spoon feed anyways

Quickest path from GB 2.3.3 to CM10.2

I've flashed just about every US Galaxy variant but just want to make sure I have the easiest method to get from GB 2.3.3 to CM10.2 on an I9100 as I'm helping a friend do this remotely. Can they just copy the CM ROM and Gapps to the SD, flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693 via Odin, then reboot into CWM recovery wipe and install those ZIPs? What exactly is the brick bug I've seen in some other threads.. is it a concern?
That CWM version you're wanting to flash won't work with GB stock. If it were me, I'd upgrade to JB stock, root the phone with a custom kernel (PhilZ, Dori, whatever) & then flash CM10 from CWRecovery.
Edit - Brickbug ? Don't concern yourself with it, doesn't apply to this situation.

I see that the kernel in that CWM is meant for JB, but if it was rebooted and immediately entered recovery afterwards and flashed with CM would it matter? Besides, there isn't an official JB update for the particular carrier.
the surest way: ICS flash (eg threeparttable LPI 4.0.3 FW) because of Brick safe!!
reboot
reboot in download mode
rootkernel Siyah5.01 (tar version) with ODIN
reboot into recovery
then according to the instructions CM (with wipe/fullwipe)
directly from GB to JB is not.
Okay i got something.
1. Flash latest XXMS1 through ODIN. tar.md5 as PDA.
2. boot ur phone its on 4.1.2 now. Transfer Cm10.2 in sdcard0
3. flash siyah v6 beta as PDA in ODIN.
4. boot into recovery wipe everything system, data, cache, dalvik
5. Flash cm10.2 and extras gapps etc.

[Q]cant install the 4.3 latest update!!!!

Your description of what you've done is no help.
Download the latest firmware for your country from Sammobile.com, flash using odin then factory reset.
Follow the guide in general forum, sticky threads.

Are you just wanting stock 4.3 for your I9300 or are you wanting a custom rom for the I9300?
If its just stock then yes as @boomboomer says you need to download latest firmware via sammobile or alternative site (there is even a collection on xda i believe) and flash this via odin.
If you want to go the custom rom root however to get the most from your device then all you would need to do is to download the rom of your choice and put on your phone, from there get latest TWRP or CWM recovery (depending on your preference) flash this via odin (in pda), then boot into recovery and flash the rom as per the Dev's instructions
Hope you get your phone to the rom/firmware you want

Seems Like uve Followed the instructions correctly but the recovery you are using is outdated OR The .zip Rom file that u have downloaded is corrupted. Try The Following:
1) Enter CWM and flash this recovery, Its the latest Philz Touch Edition of CWM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/i93xx-philz-touch-t2002953
As u said Phone isnt booting then u can place the zip file of philz externally in ur external sd and flash from there.
After u flash Philz touch REINSTALL the rom following the same steps as u did earlier or as some of the members suggested u and see what happens.
2) IF 1 Doesnt work den redownload the rom put it in ur SD and Reflash
I'm Sure one of the Above 2 has to work

[Q] What should I do? How? Downgrade or Upgrade?

Hi!
First this is what I did:
1.On stock ROM 4.1.2 I rooted.
2. Using root explorer I zipped my efs folder and moved it to pc.
3.Flashed rwpm lastest
4.Installed S5 revolutionary "like your new S5?" custom ROM from recovery. Didn't like it. battery drain.
5. Flashed a 4.3 stock from sammobile with odin. Didn't like it>>buggy. I9300XXGMK6
6. Flashed a 4.1.2 with odin >> success1/1..pass..etc
6.a. phone rebooted it goes to samsung logo animation >>1 sec >>samsung logo animation >> 1 sec >> infinite loop.
7. Major heart attack.
8. Flashed 4.3 again (the same as step 5 =I9300XXGMK6). Phone booted properly. Now working.
So, please tell me what to do:
1- This ROM =I9300XXGMK6 is buggy. Screen rotating seems to ignore me (and settings) and it is always on. Apps are not working. Firewall doesn't work...
2- Should I downgrade to 4.1.2? if yes, how?
3-Should I wait for my country's (Iran) 4.3 frameware to release and flash with odin ? or a later version?
Please note:
I don't want any custom ROMs.
I have no problem staying on 4.3 as long as it's bugs are fixed.

it is ok to change country. any firmware that is for the GT-I9300 will work. UAE has an nb6 firmware I would flash that. mk6 is very buggy as it was one of the first 4.3 versions

I know this topic . But Samsung has new security on new Stock Firmware updates. All users have new updates said that .
Please explain it ,
I have downloaded old stock rom on sammobiles. But How to flash it ?
as a normal flashing ? without root ?
Sorry I am a beginnger user for this.
Dear friend,
Install USB Drivers or install Samsung Kies . kies will install the necessary drivers automatically.
1. First be sure USB Debugging is checked in ur device ( Settings/Developer Options/USB Debugging )
2. Extract the Odin file from the zip.
3. Open Odin3 (Run As Administrator).
4. Put your device in download mode. To do so, press Volume Down And Home And Power Button all together and when it vibrates release Power Button but keep others pressed. You should have a triangle with an android janitor while it's saying downloading ..VOL UP TO CONTINUE...
5. Now connect USB to PC ,you should see a blue rectangle with COM:xx and saying Added. It means that your device is ready to be flashed!
6. Go into the PDA section and select your .tar file.( stock ROM file)
7. Dont check any other option (F.reset time and Auto reboot are checked by default).
8. Now click Start.
9. When it's finished, it should say that "Res OK" or "PASS"in Odin.
10. Now the phone will restart and you will have the stock firmware as per your requirements.
You don't need root to flash ROM thru Odin.
If you want to root search for framaroot.apk in XDA .
