I regularly need to meet with clients at work and end up asking the same questions alot. I then need to generate reports based on my data. I've been looking for an app that would let me replace my pad & paper for a tablet, but I haven't been able to find anything that meets my needs.
I'd be willing to pay up to $150 for this app. I was hoping someone might have a suggestion.
My requirements:
- no cloud required (client records are confidential and therefore must stay local)
- save to csv (or some other way for to get the info into a spreadsheet)
- drop down menus of pre-determined answers available
- check boxes or radio buttons available
- ability to select "other" and input answer with the keyboard
- dynamic Q's (ex: if the question "how many bank accounts do you have?" is answered "none" then the next question, "what are the acct numbers?" is skipped)
After all my digging, all I've been able to find are cloud/subscription based applications. They seem to be a great way for Family Feud to get their data, but not a way to create a report that states "Mr. Smith has $110,231 worth of assets in the following accounts..."
Anyone use something similar at work? Thanks for any insight.

Hi,
I would like to automate the following task on my Android 2.1 device (Nook Simple Touch):
1. Once a week go a website (in an invisible browser in the background)
2. Type user name and password in a form on that site
3. Wait until you get forwarded by the website
4. Click on a download link and save the file to a certain location on the sdcard.
Is there any easy way to do this without having to write a full application?
I tried googling but it is one of those cases where it is not really clear what to search for. I found the Android scripting engine, but this seems as complicated as making a full app.
If any of you have an idea I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

EDIT: In case anyone is interested: A newspaper I have a subscription to is publishing an epub version of their newspaper every week. I would like to automatically save this epub file to my Nook Simple Touch.
i tried to look for an answer for you.
I dont think this is possible, without writing a special app for that.
please tell us (if you can), the name of the magazine, maybe it can help!
I suggest you look into Tasker. It can automate a lot of stuff... and, just maybe, do what you want. I don't know enough to say it can or not.
I would get information from the gurus, first. You can find discussion groups through the developer's site. If it sounds possible (and/or someone provides you with a template), then you can try the trial version to see if it works.
Hello,
My first post in this forum so couldn't post it to the right category (10 post rule), sorry..
But it still would probably be one of the best places to find answers to my questions and maybe even find the right guy to do the job.
I'm interested in getting contact with someone who really knows about making apps for business purposes. Actually I'd need an application for all the most used phones operating systems but let's start with an Android and find out what is possible to do and what is not.
Not going to explain here what to I exaxtly need but the main keywords would be Easy user interface, QR code (barcode too maybe?), payment options (or connecting it with some other app to enable the payments, bank transfers, credits cards, paypal etc.).
It's not going to be a standalone app (like flashlight for exmpl.), it needs to be a part of the system so it needs to communicate with server, send info recive info etc.
Feel free to send PM and I'll tell you more specific about what I need.
Best regards,

Hey there,
I had an idea for an app and since I have no programming skills or experience I wanted to see if anyone could recommend a developer or resource they have used to hire a developer.
The idea behind the app is to provide users of said app with the ability to communicate information about their motorcycles. For example,
in talking about clarifying what actions the program is intended to perform
• Search for a motorcycle by color, model, make, location, year, etc.
• Should be able to filter by location
• Should be able to receive and send messages
• User A should be able to upload photos for users B,C,D
(if this is in the wrong section, sorry in advance, I can move it.)
thanks for your time
Im looking to hire a developer for an android application. The application is not terribly complicated, and we need it for our internal use primarly. We need to have the application check the location of a device and create tickets in our PSA when a tech goes on location then close a ticket when they leave. We also need the application to log phone calls (and text messages) as tickets when "clients" call/text someone.
I have a complete flow chart how the application should work. I am currently using 3 applications to accomplish the same thing, i would really like to build our own and have one app to run, as well as refine it a little.
Please contact me if you have the experience necessary to complete this and are interested int he work. I fully expect to pay for this development and am willing to pay accordingly.
Kyle
Apologies if this isn't the type of development question that goes on XDA, but if it isn't, could you please tell me where people go with questions like these? I'm working on my first android application and could use the guidance.
I'm setting up a screen with a search that is querying a SQLite file. I want the search to re-run with every letter entered and show the results in a listview. The full list is on the order of 600-700 items, so we're not talking anything huge.
I'm using ADO instead of ORM because I'm much more familiar with ADO, but if there are enough compelling reasons to switch to ORM I'll bite the bullet and do some reading.
So all that explained, what's the right way to filter the list view. Do you re-run the sql query every letter press, or do you directly modify the data supplier which feeds listview?
