hello
i want to create my own rom for the xperia x10
what programs do i need for that?
and can i modify an existing rom? want to understand how making roms works first, so my question is if i download a custom rom, can i modify it for my personal purposes? for exampe by removing some apps...
thanks for ur help
Taking out apps is easy.. use titanium backup. Ifyou want to mix them use a kitchen. If you want to build one use linux and download google source and edit.

I take it you're on a deodexed ROM. In that case, check if you have any .odex files in system/apps. If yes, delete them. That should do the trick

im on CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly-i9300 and i looked in system/app and found no "odex" files only "apk"s and i have plenty of storage left so thats not the problem, i restored to LiquidSmooth rom and the problem has gone but the issue with LiquidSmooth is the bloutooth crashes all the time so i want to be CyanogenMod if u some one could come up with a solution for this
if your device is rooted, install lucky patcher... it will automatically remove .odex files and you will be able to install that particular app
Hello folks,
My question is: Backing up apps, and then restoring, can cause any des-optimization of some sort?
It's better I re-download apps from play store, or just do the restore?
Thanks in advance.
No difference..!!

The only difference is you MAY get latest realesed app from Google Play...
Also for Chatting Apps like Whatsapp etc. there is no use of Data Restore via Titanium Backup...
coz. even then you need to verify agn ..
ok I will now do my backups always with Titanium, thanks for the help!

Hi there,
last time I used Titanium Backup for backuping up and restore all apps for changing the rom on my smartphone I got the error, that for some apps the notification was not working correctly.
As I read in the forum it was caused by restoring the apps via Titanium Backup
So, my question is:
Whats the best way to backup and restore all apps, so they can directly work on after changing a rom (with clean flashing).
Thanks for your help,
Shadow128
