Anyone know of a good way to do this? Basically I only want knock code on when I'm not connected to my home wifi or in car bluetooth. I've seen an called Skip Lock but reviews aren't that great.
Use Tasker, you can program it to do everything
I used delayed lock from the play store. I use it for known WiFi abd trusted Bluetooth. Works awesome.

That looks awesome! However, it seems I can't use knock code with it which is what I was hoping to use.

Oh I see. I think you can only use pin or pattern with it. I don't know of one that can use lock code.

I'm using Automateit. Works perfect and I can use knock code.

Hey guys/gals, here is a fix for the VZW GS4 that resolves the issue of WiFi hotspot tethering. In the latest update, you now get an errors message that checks for an active subscription and then gives you an error and turns off the hotspot. Here are 2 methods I found.
Method 1: Download any app that allows you to freeze/defrost packages. If you cannot find one or do not have one, download an app called System Tuner by 3c. You have to find a package called "SPG" (system package). Freeze this package and it will prevent the phone from checking for a subscription service. Run your non-factory hotspot app. It will crash and maybe freeze for the first time, and then exit, just reopen it and it should then work.
Method 2: Using System Tuner, find the package called "SPG" and click on it so that it becomes highlighted. Then click "Details" so that it brings up the info about the app. It should show a list of packages under the "Activites" section (near the bottom). Uncheck the box labeled "NewSPGActivity". After this, you can run your hotspot app and it should crash/freeze for the first run. After that, it should run smoothly.
I hope this works for you all. If you have any questions or issues, just reply to this thread. Don't forget to give me a thanks!
Note: Do not use the built-in wifi hotspot toggle switch, it will crash. Download an app from the market to toggle it.
Note: If you cannot access the settings by clicking on the Hotspot notification, do this: settings>more networks>mobile hotspot.
Note: I am running ME7 with 4.2.2 JellyBean and stock rom.

Worked for me. Froze with rom Toolbox. First time I turned on tether, my phone Froze up for a few seconds but hasn't happened again. Thanks.

Foxfi works with no subscription notice all you have to do is make a pattern lock when it asks you.
"Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"
"Oderint Dum Metuant"
Foxfi seems to be working. No adhoc error. I've yet to connect to it though. Cautiously optimistic

What exactly force closed?
If you are trying to run the hotspot from the built it button, it will crash. Use an external app for your hotspot. I use "1-click tether" at the moment. I'm going to do some more looking right now.

I just use the toggle. Then, after that hold down the home button for recent apps and go right back to what I was doing...
Yes, was trying to use the built in button and the app crashed. I haven't had any problems with third party tether toggle apps. After getting the subscription check and hitting the home button I am good to go.

FoxFi uses your data plan, so if you don't have unlimited data it will cost you a lot of money. The technique I'm using prevents the phone from checking if you have an active subscription or not. Also, FoxFi limits how long you can use it continuously if you don't purchase the pro version. I used to use FoxFi before i rooted my phone.
On VRUAME7 build hack is not required. Toggle the built-in Wifi hotspot on and as soon as the subscription check message comes up just press the home button and it will go in the background but you will be able to still use tethering.
i just froze that app. and installed a third party wifi tether app and it worked .,thanks

IF you are correct, you still have to deal with the message every time you want to tether. Also, since you have to hit the home button, if you want to change your setting or anything then you have to go back into the app and deal with the message again. This just makes it easier. Your idea just avoids the issue, mine fixes it. I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. Have a good day!

Is there a tweak or setting to pull WiFi in better ? Asking because I'm able to connect nook tablet via free city WiFi, but fassy says "not in range". Just curious.

Ive run various ROM using two different Fassies. It has been my experience that it has the crappiest GPS and Wifi. But wifi seems to work the best when I used AOKP. Something else you could try as well that helped me was an app called InSIDer. Using the stock wifi listing itwould only show about 3 active. But when using the InSIDer wifi scanner or Wigle it would show about 10. I would give one of those a try.
Has anybody had any success getting voicemail to work? My GNEX was Verizon as well and had no problem. But for some reason I can't get it to work on my note 2. TW and AOSP.

Works for me all the time. Make sure to set it as your vm provider through the phone apk.

Yes. I had some trouble with it at first.
The issue is it doesn't set up automatically and you need to fwd the number to your google voice account. Even though you add a cell number, you need to fwd it to your GV access number, get one if you don't have it.
Got it! Here's a link if any one else needs their number ported.

This doesn't work. It won't set up automatically like it does on other phones. Maybe on some roms, but vzw takes a bit more work to set up.

You have to configure it the right way. I use it on AOKP, stock, CM10, Carbon, MIUI, everything with no problems. You have to set it up on Google too.

Yes, read my initial post. I never said it didn't work. I said it doesn't work by just setting it as your VM in the phone.apk. I said you have to configure it on google. Your initial post was yep, it works, make sure you set it in the phone.apk. This wouldn't work and that is what I was commenting on.
I bought g2 the next day it came out, and did not know this vutalk feature existed until yesterday while playing around with both of my and my girlfriend's g2.
Now we doodle around with this thing whenever we get a chance and me like it ;p
But the sad thing is i dont have any other people on my contact list that i can vutalk with except my girlfriend...
Anyone use this at all?

It gives you the ability to draw stuff you can share with the person you're talking to. I've personally disabled it, as it uses some RAM

To disable it (and you can do this without root) go into settings - general - apps - all and scroll all the way down to the bottom. You will find vutalk there. Press on it and disable it. And yes it will remain disabled even after reboot.

We are getting off-topic...but, i'll answer
Viber needs only a few KB/s (or MBs for calls) . Other apps need more ( i don't use and don't know about what's up)
It doesn't need an account. (for hangouts you need to have your friends gmail / fb needs ...fb accounts )
And you can do some funny staff. Draw/emoticons/sound clip
Can i lock apps with the fingerprint?? I tried all the app lock apps but they don't show fingerprint lock as an option...
Does anyone know how to enable this??

Phone Manager is used to lock apps
You kinda are...if you go into the phone manager app and find where it says app lock, you can use that to lock the apps. I use that to lock all my apps and it works great.
