Stylus For My New Z2 - Xperia Z2 Accessories

Hi ,
I'm looking for a good stylus ( not drawing but writing only ) .
There are many different brands that seems to be quite similar : Adonit , gosmart ,lynktec , wacom and many more ..
1.What do you think is the best ?
2.what features should I look for ?
THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR TIME

Grab an Bamboo Stylus, I've got one and works really well and the build quality of the stylus is awesome, fells premium. It is very sensitive, I think it's the best one.

Stylus Problems

I've tried 4 different Capacitive Screen styluses on my Tablet S, with no screen protector, and it requires me to push much harder than on any other tablet or screen I've tried it on.
Can anyone test this out on their Tablet S for me?
Is this normal? Or is this just a defect in the one I got? Give it a try and let me know please.
Ive never tried a stylus on any other tablet than the Sony one I own so I didn't know it was just an issue on this one but yes, the performance of the stylus is horrible.
The stylus didn't work very well for me either. The Nook color I have also didn't work very well. Pretty sure the capacitive touchscreens work differently between iOS and android so this may just be a "designed for ipad" kind of issue.
The problem I have is that I used it on the Xoom and ALL the other tablets they had over at Best Buy on display, and they worked flawlessly. Some of then better than it did on the iPads on display :-( damn it SONY, I think it's just a screen sensitivity thing... if anyone figures out how to increase this, let me know.
Why do you need a stylus anyway? If you really do need a stylus, you should have gotten a tablet that supports an active stylus by either Wacom or N-Trig for actual precision, and quality when writing. I know at least the HTC Flyer and one of the Lenovo tablets support this.

Hi,
A friend of mine recommended the Griffin Stylus, although he has an iPad2 he said that after trial and error with several brands, this one was near perfect.
I'm also looking into this, so that I can use the tablet as a notepad for classes - I have the apps installed already, all I have to do now is find the proper stylus.
Dunno if you guys didnt realize that there is a factory installed screen protector over the glass ( yes glass, mineral glass in fact). thats causing sensitivity issues.
If you read the manual it will tell you NOT to use a stylus. The Tablet S is not meant for anything other than your finger tip.

Not according to the link below
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666381663
I searched all the leaflets and booklets that came with the tablet and could not find any evidence supporting your claim, I also went online to the Sony Forums and nothing about Stylus Pen issues - but it's still possible, as stated, that due to design/build characteristics, stylus pens work badly with the tablet.
So far, according even to my friend's experience on the iPad and the information at the Sony Store, I'm still hoping that maybe the Sony Tablet is just picky when it comes to Stylus Pens and we just have to do our homework before buying one.
I hope that's the case, as I'm planning on using this device for classes and so far, software-wise I'm all set, so all I need now is a suitable stylus pen to write with.
I'll let you know how it goes, but please if anyone else has any successful results on this, please share as well.
Hi, Maybe I am "mis-remembering" it. I believe if you click on the Sony Help Icon it will take you to a website with various tips and information. In there it will tell you not to use anything on the screen except for your finger tips. I should confirm this for you but I am tired and lazy. Anyways, I don't see the point in using a stylus with this tablet. To me, this is the kind of tablet you leave beside the couch or your bed. In my opinion it's not a travel / work tablet.

Couldn't disagree more, this tablet keeps surprising me, in a positive way.
Work is always relative, travel is just not so as this seems more and more as THE partner to have, but opinions come and go, of course.
As for facts, check the image below - and hopefully the stylus drama dies here.
Griffin stylus pen, GC16040 - 4.3" length, in an orange box.
I'm still to put the screen protector, will report back as it is done.

I picked up the Griffin stylus GC16040 and it isn't working well with mine with the Sony screen protector on. I still had to give in a good amount of pressure for it to work.
Has anyone tried the stylus sold on the Sony store website?
I'm going to assume it'll work because Sony is selling it, and it says specifically that it is for Sony tablets. I'm going to place an order to try it out.

I got my screen protector from amazon today - not the official sony one, and another set of stylus pens - Groov-e, GV-CP2
Both stylus packs work ok, but with screen protector I do have to apply some little pressure, but I have to say that for me, it's basically the same as when writing with normal pen and paper...
I do notice a slightly more diffuse image due to the protector, and the griffin stylus is alot softer to use than the Groov-e ones.
Both work ok, but the Groov-e just seemed slightly rougher, when typing I get a subtle scraping sound...
I also noticed that not all apps behave the same with this, personally I liked genie writing best, whereas hand writing HD didn't feel so precise in capturing my strokes.
Sample 2 in attach.

Which screen protector did you get exactly?
Drawing in supernote is the same with your finger or stylus, not great. It misses some inputs when drawing. I'm sure with future updates it will get better. I'm using a targus stylus.

Stylus on Sony Tablet S
I bought these TOUCH SCREEN STYLUS FOR Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim Tablet
on ebay and tested them on my Sony Tablet S and Galaxy S phone.
It works 100x better on my galaxy s phone than on the sony tablet.
They do work on the sony but the sensitivity isn't there, a fair amount of pressure is needed in order for it to respond.
I'm also interested to see if anyone else gets a better result with the targus stylus that sony sells.
I created a short video to show the problem. Go to youtube and search for AntMoore23, go on my channel and watch.
I think for the Sony it has a special resin that allows the screen to have a better black response. I think maybe that's the reason why the stylus response is bad. Just something to keep in mind.
I use a griffin stylus (GC17125) with sketchbook pro every day and it work just fine.
I also tried to build my own stylus with a sponge and some other crap (try a search on youtube) but without success.
did anyone try using the Stylus used in the video here, they call it a Wacom Active Digitizer
http://youtu.be/oty4ukjSIjg
The active digitizer is not the stylus, it's part of the screen technology inside the tablet, similar to the Galaxy Note.

Handwriting on the Prime

I know there's tons of threads out there about this issue but I wanted a flat out answer. So is the diagonal line issue a firmware issue or a hardware issue? In my language class (vietnamese) I take handwritten notes using ipad 2 using notability and adonit jot, and I am very happy with it, however there are many things that the Prime does that the ipad 2 cannot do (e.g. flash) and I would like to transition into android however using the Prime I cannot draw the necessary characters in class due to whatever glitches in the hardware firmware. Vietnamese requires a lot of diagonal slashes, squiggles, and hooks and the Prime isn't cutting it for me right now. Is this something that can be fixed in the future or is it a hardware limitation?
P.S. not willing to wait then shell out a boat load of money for the atmus whatever pen.
say what? Never heard anything about diagonal line issues link pls
Works with stylus but you may want to use touch screen tune to tweak for smooth op with no skips. Palm detect does not work. I use a stylus daily for taking notes and works fine.
Well it works alright if you have a good stylus, but i prefer real paper and a pen, or just write it with the keyboard dock. But thats just my preference.
Does someone want to actually answer the OP
These responses are not helping the guy. He is not asking if you CAN take notes, or how it works or if it works well or not. He is referring to a specific issue with the Prime (and others regarding the rendition of diagonal lines)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHpfkI6l1-0&sns=tw
http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...mer-primetouch-screen-response-is-this-normal
If you don't have an answer for him, why post a comment? I will only say that the Prime, unlike HTC Tablets with digitizers and the Samsung Note I believe DOES have issues here. I am sorry that I do not know if firmware alone can fix it, all of my research has been inconclusive to date. If anyone knows if this is likely to be unfix able, and WHY that would be really helpful. For everyone who wants to say how they take notes with a a pen and paper, or like how the Prime takes notes with Adjonit Jot or other fine point styli, thats great, but not too helpful.

Hello thanks for defending me I appreciate it. I own the original asus transformer as well as the iPad 2 and I can say that both are much more capable of handwritten notes than the asus prime. It's not just the fact that the htc flyer and Samsung note have active digitizers it is the digitizer software or hardware on the prime that there are problems with using a stylus. If you slowly make a diagonal line in any program even with touchscreen tune you'll see that the lines are jagged for some reason and not straight like on the original transformer or iPad 2 which also do not haves active digitizers. I cannot use the prime to annotate PDFs as it is now and am wondering if this can be fixed in the future or should I look for another device to fit my needs if that makes it clearer at all. Thank you.
But can you write in normal letters?
I ordered the Prime specifically for handwriting, so i really want to know this.
If not, is the original transformer capable of writing normal letters?
It is quite choppy and doesn't feel natural at all. Asus transformer is much better but still not the best. If specifically for handwriting I would look elsewhere at this point like towards a lenovo thinkpad tablet or something with an active digitizer unless an update will fix this and make it like the original transformer. As for me i was looking for the best of both worlds and hoped to find it here but i guess not. Good luck in your search.

Thanks, so it doesn't look like this on your prime?:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=195Z4V6qO-Y
This looks acceptable for me for handwriting.
Seeing this vid it looks like it is a problem with hardware, as a friend of mine doesn't have the choppy lines too.
Anyway, I will test it on the one on display in the shop before I buy it.
Yes it is like that if you watch the video handwriting only registers when he writes really slowly. How is there any way I can keep up in class writing in slow motion? But anyway if this fits your needs and is acceptable for you then go for it the only way you'll ever know is by testing it out yourself right?

handwriting just doesn't work for me
This is the best i can manage on the prime.
This combination of Bamboo stylus and Quill was *nearly* perfect for me on the Transformer.
The Bamboo and certain apps on a different tablet we entirely usable, even better than paper and pencil for me especially when taking notes on textbooks or pdfs in class. I *want* that ability on the Prime! It is essential for me.
In the image you can see three attempts that say approximately the same thing each time, written at a pace that worked okay on the Transformer, and perfectly on the iPad 2.
Each example also demonstrates three setting levels for Touchscreen tuner.
I need suggestions. Does anyone know how to get substantially better results?
I've just ordered a few pens , dagi and Adonit jot. and planing on testing the screen/ touch calibration tool l found on the market.
Has anyone had any luck in improving the accuracy of the screen??
I would like to see your results. my post above yours includes examples of using touchscreen tune.
now if i slow my pace of writing to glacially slow and write twice as large as i need to i can get better results. that example was at the pace i need.
I'm still waiting for the pens, will probably have to root the device.
a short story
Ok a short update / review:
I have ranked the 3 pens and tested them with 4 different apps.
The score:
based on 1-10 ( 1 = super crap , 10 the mother/father/brother of all pens thus far)
Quality : build quality from the handle to the tips. Potential durability
Accuracy: this is based on the "limited time" l have had to play with them, as well as the fact that l haven't yet tried to tune the screen etc
Speed: How fast can you ink with realistic accuracy
overall feel: how does it feel to use etc
total score: guess what this means....
Misc: other factors that might have en impact, both positive and negative. Note this one does not impact the overall score.
The targus and pogo sketch it pens l have rated as 6,5/10 .
Quality : 7 / 10
Accuracy: 6 / 10
speed: 6,5 / 10 ( you have to ink slower then feels natural)
overall feel: 7 / 10
total score: 6,5 - 7 / 10 depending on use
Both were ok, and decent enough for browsing and quick sketch, but note taking was a bit awkward in the long run. Quality was about the same, l got both second hand so wont go into detail.
Pens
Wacom Bamboo standard softtip
Adonit Jot swivel hard tip
Dagi swivel hard tip on a spring
For review sake l also got a pen from targus and sketch it ( both soft tips)
apps
supernotes
Freenotes
Writepad Stylus
Lecture pad trial
The app l had the most success with was actually the supernotes. Though the writepad stylus was a close second. This is based on accuracy and useability on the default settings. With that said writepad and freenotes have a lot of customisation functions, while supernote is rather basic. The lecture pad was by no means bad, it's very similar to freenotes , but has a lot more "lecture functionality" that l didn't test. The focus was on the pens and not the apps.
In short
out of the box, supernotes.
if you ahve time to tinker and play around with it then any of the other three will do just fine. The main difference is what you need it for and what extra functions , such as "notebooks" and save to pdf, jpeg ..other formats, are available.
Impressions of the pens.
Note these impressions are based on about 2 + hours of use with each pen. testing writing , notes, sketch and basic drawing ( l suck at the last part, but gave it a go non the less) I will mention accuracy , but will not provide any picture just yet ( having problems with rooting my tab and havent tuend the screen yet)
Wacom
Is one of the best soft tip pens l have tested. It has a good feel and solid gripp and the smalest soft tip of the 3 soft tip ones. Feels like a quality kit, though l can imagine the tips wear down fast if used a lot.
With that said the tip is a tad too soft. As in it caves in on it self , and for best effect you have to press harder then with the targus or sketch it ones.
Rating
Quality : 8 / 10. Fells like a good piece of kit, might have issues with the tips of the pen in the long run. 2 spares included.
Accuracy: 6,5 / 10 , ok for sketch but notetaking is too impractical. Needs a lot of preassure to register. Actually more then the pogo and targus.
Speed:: 7 / 10 , it takes some pressure for it to register and that slows you down, as well as the lack to sensitivity. Might be screen / app related-
overall feel: 7,5 / 10 , sits well in hand , there is enough resistance while inking that it has a sort of paper feel to it, and the tips are soft so no risk of screen damage.
total score: 7,5 /10
Misc: Questionable if it's worth the extra cash in comparison with targus, griffin or pogo. Spare tips are expensive
******
Adonit jot.
Very diferent from the other pens l have tested. Take a look at the site and you'll see what l mean. It's a sort of small glass plate attached on a ball joint that sort of swivels . Interesting and novel concept. It gives you a smaller "tip" and at the same time gives you a better view of what you are trying to draw/ write. An example is when you are drawing a box, hitting the lines exactly spot on is much harder when you can actually see what part of the tip is actually registering .with the see through plate you can hit the exact point ( more or less) and allows for much greater precision. Big bonus.
Overall quality is rather impressive. though on the web page they keep talking about a magnet in the pens so you can attach it to the side of the tab. that does NOT work on Transformer prime, though it did work with an ipad l borrowed.
The tip seems sturdy and you don't have to apply much pressure for anything to register on the screen. though l am a tad worried about scratching the screen. Guess that depends on how much you push. it comes with tip cover that is screwed on so the tips isn't exposed when it's not in use.( think old school pens with a smal cap on the tip)
Score
Quality : 9 / 10, feels like a premium piece of kit, high quality materiials used.
Accuracy: 8,5 / 10 , the see-through helps a lot, and you don't need to press down so hard. it glides quite easily over the screen
Speed: 8,5 / 10 sort of same reason as above, but you still have to move a tad slower then feel natural. again might be screen or app related.
overall feel: 9 / 10 one of the best l have tried thus far, sits well. easy to use. Good quality
total score: 9
Misc: Quick delivery, but no extra glass plates / tips for the pen?? not a big issue but still...
****
Dagi
It's based around the same concept as the Adonit jot, but instead of a ball joint it's connected to a rather stiff mini spring system. That in it self requires somewhat more pressure, and makes it a tad cumbersome to write and draw on and angle. Note, the tips are softer ,thig less glass and more rubberised plastic, still see through. It doesn't glide over the screen as smoothly as the adonit jot, but the extra friction does make it feel more like a pen. It's up to personal preference.
Quality wise it's very similar to the adonit jot, but the jot has a tad more premium feel to it. I'de say it a tad lower on the scale. One cool feature is that it got a pen clip function so you can attach it like a real pen. This is more look and feel the practicality. but it makes it easier to attach to a note book or in a case with a pen holder. It also comes with a pen cap / cover thing that you can screw on to protect you tips.
Quality : 8 / 10 , still good quality , but the jot feels a tad more high end. Still rather fancy. The tip is sturdier , and stiffer, but might be more prone to breaking / falling off. Though you do get 3 extras.
Accuracy:8 / 10 , it's somewhat stiffer and a tad more awkward to use at angles. It keeps wanting to straighten up. the increased friction of the tip might make it a tad less accurate.
Speed:: 8 / 10 the rubberised tip increases friction, but sensitivity isn't affected much.
overall feel: 8 / 10 , it sort of comes down to personal preference between this one and the jot. if l didn't have the jot to compare with then well then this one would have been the king of the hill.
total score: 8 / 10 not much to say really.
Misc, not much to say here either. It is a good little stylus. Relatively accurate , easy to get used to. I even got an extra gift from dagi ( no clue why), a mini iphone pen, same principle but much smaller .
Last Word.
Even with the best stylus, l had issues with snesitivivty and accuracy. And of course the wriggly lines ( when you try to draw a straight line). The straightness of the lines were direcly related to speed. the faster l drew the lines the more straight it got, but l still feel the accuracy was lower then on the ipad.
This doesn't have *that much effect on note taking. The biggest issue here is the sensitivity issue, and general accuracy when it came to note taking, ie writing legible letters. Even with the best one, l had to write slower and larger for it to be legible. I haven't don much inking on other tabs , but l do have a lenovo x210 tablet at home with a built in wacom pressure board. And trust me BIG difference. Lenovo = as good as a pen and paper , Transformer prime = pen and fat white board marker . ( ok maybe not *that bad, but close enough)
Hope this helps, I'm trying to root the pad and calibrate the screen. then l might take the time to do a point to point comparison test of accuracy and speed one again.
Hi, I bought prime yesterday and updated it to ics and 9.4.2.21. One thing I would like to do with my tablet is to take handwritten notes. It doesn't seem to do that very well at the moment. Is there a safe way to install touchscreen tune in my device (will i lose warranty)? Or are there any similar apps that wouldn't need root?
Biggest problems seems to be that recognition of writing is too slow and it won't pick up small movement. Diagonal lines aren't straigth when drawing, but that isn't major issue for me.
well the app in i self is very safe, but you have to root the unit. Since you only have to root the unit and NOT unlock it for the app to work then the warranty etc is still good to go.

You can take good notes with the Prime, im using a cheap 4euro Stylus and it works perfectly, BUT, Touchscreen Tuner is needed for it to work.
Check my post about it here
Okay, I just copied one of your Posts using SuperNote and my Touchscreen Settings. It looks good imo, the last part looks way better not cause the Prime, but because I cant for my live write "pretty" if I have to write somewhat fast lol.
Here are my settings:
- Min movement amount: 0
- Disable movement filtering: checked
- Touch sensitivity: 30
- Palm detection: 0 (recommended for stylus writting).
then go to the menu (top-right) button, tap on "Set filter off value" and set it to 0. < this last part is super important, without this and filter check off it looks like your pic.
I think the prime does a wonderful job, I just gotta re-learn how to write lol sorry for my awful handwritting ^^

Best stylus ever and cheaper then holder

i originally posted this in the general section and then realized it made more sense here. i have an old motion tablet that has a stylus, they cost about 30$, Best part though is you can use it like our s pen(has a button on the side as well) but the cool part is when you flip it over it automatically acts as an eraser
dont know if this has been mentioned before just thought id put it up
thanks
http://youtu.be/T_K57DNBgXc
Thanks for the heads-up. Because you mentioned the compatilbilty I just grabbed the stylus from my Toshiba Portege M400...and it works, eraser and all!
I would have never thought of the darn thing if you hadn't mentioned that it was working with other styli with erasers, thanks!
I have a few of these for my tablet-pc in case I lost one.
BTW, there are a lot of "motion Stylus" in a Google search, which one are you recommending specifically? Link?
Basically, any tablet PC that uses wacom penabled technology will have a stylus that is compatible with the Note. So tablets from Motion Computing, Lenovo's X61/X200 convertibles, Toshiba Portege M convertibles, HP 27xx convertibles, Fujitsu Stylistics, just to name a few all use the same Wacom digitizers.
What that means too is that with enough searching, you could find a very cost effective alternative pen for the Note. I like using my old Motion Computing pen that is shaped like a fountain pen. You can also replace the hard plastic nibs with a felt nib that feels much more like writing on paper.
And before anyone asks, No, you cannot use a stylus from any of the Wacom Intuous or Bamboo art tablets. The technology there is not the same.
I'd really like someone to come up with an app that lets us use the Note as a "small" wacom pad for the PC and Mac. Either by using bluetooth or USB, we could set our phones on our desk and use the digitizer while working in Windows or OSX. That would be amazing.

I can confirm my note doesn't work with the styli from my Cintiq or my Wacom 4...
Can you post some links to known working styli, I am looking for one with the weight and styling as a real pen with interchangable nibs.
Cross or Parker styling would be awesome!
Would this one work? http://www.amazon.com/Fujitsu-Digit...UTH2/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1334357063&sr=8-8
Well the X61 Stylus doesn't look bad, anyone know if it has an eraser on it?

Yes, that one will work. I have used that exact stylus on my Note at times since I own a couple of Motion tablets. This is one of the nicer pens I've used since it feels like an actual fountain pen.
Basically any stylus from a Motion Tablet will work in the M, LE, LS, F and J series tablets. The only one that won't work is from their CL900 tablet which uses an N-trig digitizer instead of Wacom.
I have purchased several different stylus pens. So far my favorite is a "Samsung Series 7 Slate Digitizer Pen"
It has a decent pocket clip (along with a tether loop hole), the top works as an eraser in s-memo (needs a bit too much force though), and its black (I have a black note). It's 1/8 inch shorter than the note and bigger around than a pencil.

Sorry to sound negative but why do people do this?
So you carry the already huge phone, and still add a huge pen?
Pls educate me.
Thanks

Everyone uses tech differently for their own applications and usage scenarios.
In my particular case, I use my Note for a lot of note taking, diagramming, sketching... I don't find the S-pen very comfortable to use for extended periods of time. So having some alternative pen options is a good thing.

What is your profession? I mean if you need that much of note taking, diagramming, sketching, wouldn't you benefit more from a tablet?

Well, I am an engineer and the Note has replaced my Moleskin that I used to carry around in case I am caught in the hall with "Can you, could you, would you" tasks that usually evaporate from my brain before I can get back to my desk.
I might be biased because I haven't used a mouse in over a decade, I've been on digitizers and for the last 3 have been wacoms, I have used their Intuits 2-4 and a Cintiq, I am used to their accuracy. Trying to do charts, designs or paint with a mouse is like trying to paint with a brick. Once you try one, you'll never go back!
The stylus with the Note is a full wacom stylus not one of those inaccurate crayons that iPads have to use, it has pressure and accuracy so it is like writing with a mechanical pencil right down to erasing like one! It measures pressure so if I write harder, the line gets thicker and darker...and yes, sometimes a picture is worth more than a thousand words!
As for a tablet; this is more portable than a tablet, it is always in my pocket. It is more accurate (as said above) than any tablet (which the best one out there is the iPAD right now, I admit it!) but this is better than an iPAD or iPhone!
I am so used to having a pencil for my Moleskin that a stylus feels quite normal. I am desperately looking for a Wacom Cross but it is a quest that I suspect I will never complete!
Try one for a week, you might never go back! This is a device for business. This is proof that cowardly Microsoft would have had a runaway success if they had released the Courier...this is at least a Moleskin journal to the what could have been the Courier being a Franklin Planner...ah was might have been!
I tried my wacom pin and no luck :-( I have the new wacom pad and pin with multi touch

What difference would my profession make? I have coworkers who don't like the Note... its really up to the individual.
I can't explain it any better than what HoneyBadger said. The Note is infinitely more useful to me because since it's a cell phone, I carry it around with me all the time. It pushes the edge of pocketability so I'm getting the maximum amount of screen real estate for its portability.

A Moleskin is a perfect analogy. I used to carry around IPAQs like the hp4700 which is nearly comparable in size.
I've also been scouring ebay for the wacom cross pen but still can't find one.

Link?

The Motion Stylus I like is part #504.500.01 which is the stylus shaped like a fountain pen. I don't have enough posts to display a link. I could PM it if you're interested.
The Fujitsu pen you had linked will work as well.

We must be from the same tribe, I also had a Hx4700 and loved it. This does seem to be its inheritor.
This one?
Not sure if anyone has tried this one but I like it and was wondering if it would work also?

I like that it has a clip.
Cant find a thread dedicated to alternate stylus or links to items.
Thanks
Edit: just found a thread... lol but still looking for an answer please....

Yes, that pen should work with the Note. The tablets that are listed in the link, such as the R10 and M200 have Wacom penabled digitizers that are compatible with the Note.

Stylus/pencil input ??

Saw this on the sonywebsite mentioning stylus/pencil input is possible on ultra Z.
I was surprised to see that since the capacitive screen is usually not good for fine pen input...
Are there are any specific point stylus like spen for galaxy ?
Any users can comment on the experience...

[Q] Stylus

Just wondering if anyone has tried another stylus with the Pro? I'm thinking of getting the new version of the Bamboo Feel, but haven't heard if it is compatible or not. Are there any thicker styli with erasers, by any chance?
I want to know about this, too

Hi,
I have been using the 8pi stylus with my note 12.2 and it works like a charm. Much better then the twig that comes with the tablet

Can you confirm is this stylus pixel accurate with the Note 12.2? Many times, even though they work, other styluses are off by a few pixels to one side. I'd hate to see someone needing a better pen for serious artwork run into this without knowing about it.
I notice that two of the reviews of that pen list that problem with Galaxy tablets.
Would really appreciate if you could check and let us know for certain.
I checked and the penabled stylus with my old LE1600 Tablet PC works with the 12.2, but of course it has the dreaded 4 pixel shift problem. It's such a rotten shame, because in every way it's a fantastic stylus and feels so comfortable in the hand (and there are tons of penabled Tablet PC styluses that are cheap). It makes the 12.2 feel like a really good drawing tablet compared to so-so with the s-Pen, but that pixel shift means it can't really be used for accurate drawing. It's too much of a difference from where you're pressing and where the line gets drawn to be trusted for serious drawing, but it'll pass for note-taking.
Anyway, please check this out if you can.

+1 on this. Just what I want to know.
Anyone who can advise on stylus accuracy, for those of us who haven't picked up a Pro 12.2, thank you in advance for all specifics you can share!
Hi Guys,
So brief update on the 8pi pen, I have attached some pics that should clarify that the pen works the same as the stock pen. I have had no issues with writing, drawing or otherwise with either pens.
Hope this answers your questions

Hello,
Could you please tell me if you can replace the hard white tips with softer black rubber(ish) tips with the 8pi? I marked up my o.g. 10.1 with hard plastic ones(I have a heavy hand when drawing) & i don't wanna have that happen on this tab. Thank you advance.

The pen comes with both hard and soft tips, you can replace them, I personally use hard tips on if I have a screen protector on, otherwise soft tips work nicely
appreciate the response

ExtremeRyno, please post your results with the stylus here. And any drawings you care to share. I'm waiting for the ATT LTE version to come out, so I'm curious about what drawing apps you use, how the accuracy feels to you &c.
(On the iPad, I've gotten a lot of good stuff with Sketchbook Pro—but the fat-tipped styluses bite!)

Very satisfied with my purchase. The size is just about the same as a regular ink pen. I'm thinking of putting on a rubber grip on it..just gotta figure out what to do about the button. I guess mark the location with a paint drop.

This is the exact one I got. I'm 100% satisfied, and I'm not experiencing any offset. Have you tried changing out the nib for one that came with your original S-Pen? Not sure if that would make a difference, but worth a shot, I guess.
Bamboo is ok, hard tip. The Samsung be pen works great. Full thick pen. Pricey but nice
