[Q] Samsung Galaxy SII Problem - I am freaking out - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I am really scared, because I don't know what I did
Point is I own a Samsung Galaxy S2 (i9100) and a 16GB micro SD card. My phone was rooted and working fine till this morning when I decided to do more experiments. I formatted my entire phone, hoping to load the newest nightly (cyanogenmod) and 4.4.4 gapps.
But now when I put my microSD card in my adapter to format the card instead of 16GB it shows 30.6 MB in the computer and I can't access the card to copy the files.
I use a Mac 10.9.4
I want to now buy a 32 GB micro sd card and load everything on it and then flash it on the CWM I suppose. What files do I need to copy to the new micro SD card or is there a way out with the old one to make it work?
I am really confused and scared. Looking for your help.

[Q] 16GB MicroSD strange capacity when used in phone

I recently owned a HTC Desire with a 16GB MicroSD installed. After I bought my Galaxy S3 I didn't had another 16GB MicroSD card so I decided to keep it as a backup and use a 8GB MicroSD. After few weeks of usage I decided to put the 16GB card to use. I shut down my S3, popped out the 8GB card, copied it's contents to my WindowsPC, formatted the 16GB card to fat32 and copied the contents over. Started my S3 and now several tools (Android Assistent, Quick System Info) indicates that this is a 11,25 GB card with 3,3 GB left ! I shut down the S3, put the MicroSD card in my PC and it tells my is't a 14,3 GB card with 10,2 GB left. Am I missing something or did I do something wrong ?
Edit: doh, just found out that both tools are reporting the internal memory as SD-card, when I use the generic option (settings > storage) it shows the real SD card capacity..

MicroSD creating problems!

Hi,
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (GT-P5110) which runs on Android ICS (4.0.3). I also bought 32Gb Class 10 Samsung microSD card as the memory could be extended up to 32 gig. But soon I realized that the external SD gets mounted as read only. So it doesn't allow anything to be copied. I then read in some forums and realized that a permission needs to be changed for which the device needs to be rooted. I didn't want to root my device so decide to copy data into it through my laptop running on Windows 7.
The problem is, I'm able to copy the data into the micro SD card from a laptop using a SD card adaptor. But what ever I'm copying in my laptop doesn't show up when I insert the microSD into my tablet. It just disappears!
Has anybody faced this problem? Is there a conflict in the file system between windows and android (non FAT16/32 or NTFS) which is creating the problem?
Any suggestion to overcome this will be helpful!

Switching from a 16gb to a 64 gb SD card

Hi,
I currently am rooted and run CM. I want to switch my external card to a 64GB card. I did it and my S4 recognized it with no problem but my SU did not work. When I switch it back it worked just fine. IS there a process to safely switch to my new 64GB card?
I went into Clockwork recovery and saw a partition option but I don't want to partition it just format it to work.
Thanks!
Steve
Odd, it should work without any issues, but you could try transferring everything on the 16gig to a folder on your computer, and then transfer those files to your 64gig. That's what I did.

[Q] Copy files to SD Card formatted in 4.4

Hi Guys,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Omni Rom on it (Android 4.4). Since the new issues with SD Cards have come out, I can no longer take my SD card and put it in my card reader and access it from my computer. I want to copy a whole lot of songs on there, but unfortunately MTP is so unstable and it crashes.
Is there a way I can get around this?

NEED HELP , Samsung SDXC 64GB card , cant copy files. galaxy S4 Zoom.

I recently purchased a 64GB Samsung evo sdxc card to use with my Galaxy s4 zoom as an upgrade from my 32GB sd card i had been using. I put all my files onto my laptop and proceed to copy the entire folder to the sd card (24GB or so) everything went fine and I put the sd card into the phone and it seemed as if there was nothing on the card music pictures etc. I put the card back into my computer to find that the folders that i copied were still there but the contents of the folders were no longer there. trying this a few more times I copied the files again after formatting the SD card , but instead of putting it in the phone i just removed it from the laptop and put it back in . I received the same results each time i did this. i even tried to format it to Fat 32 to see if that would fix it and still just as before the same result. I have used many sd cards and have never had this problem before, this is the first time ive owned an sdxc card but it should be compatible with my s4 zoom, so the results i am getting have baffled me. any help with my situation would be very appreciated.
