Hi,
yesterday I received my Truesmart but before doing something I've just played with it as it is.
I did some photos and videos just to see the "quality" but when I connect the smartwatch I cannot see anything.
If I move the mouse over the unplug icon on my pc I can see two letters added like disk drives, but these new units does not appears on "my computer".
For now, no microsd card was inserted and I'm using internal memory to store pictures
What can I do?
thanks

Benn lurking here for a few days trying to soak in all the info I can until I get my G-Tab from the last woot-off in. Let me start out by saying that the community that has grown around this tablet is great. Lots of good info and work being done to push the G-tab to its potential. Thanks to the Devs and everyone else who contributes.
So my question is this ...... After doing some research I plan to install Vegan 5.1 on my G-Tab when it arrives. I will be sharing the tab with my wife who is a photographer. She said the main feature she wants is to be able to use the tablet to proof her photographs with her clients after a photo shoot. Meaning she will be taking the SD card out of the camera and using a USB memory card reader to access the SD card on the G-Tab. Will this be possible to do on the G-Tab? Is there an app or software that would be better for viewing pictures off of an SD card?
From what I've read so far there seems to be a problem with the tablet not recognizing sdcard2 right? or is there a workaround or fix for this?
Please let me know any suggestions you guys have on how she will have to go about viewing the pictures off of an SD card. I am open to installing different ROMS than Vegan if I have too.
Thanks in advance.
I think there may be some more experienced replies than mine, my experience with the g-tab is still new, however an approach that should work would be to use a mini-sd card in a sleeve, in her camera, then take out the mini-sd and pop that into the g-tab slot. Then you can use the file brower/manager app on the g-tab and browse the mini sd; should be able to just tab an image and show.
Thanks for the reply Riccarr. That sounds like an option but dont want to have to buy all new micro cards unless that is the only option. But I will keep that in mind.
Does anyone else know if its a problem reading jpegs off an sd card through the usb port using a usb card reader? Please share your experiences on viewing pics from a card and if there are any problems I should be ready for. Thanks
I've heard that you can run an SD Card reader off the USB port, in VEGAn 5.11 at least. I've not tried it myself, although I can let you know later tonight as I'm about to head out and buy one.
GoPro HD camera takes an SD card, and I want to be able to view my trackday runs on the tablet while at the track. In glorious HD.
First off I would suggest installing VEGAn-TAB 7.0 instead of earlier Beta version. That's mainly because it is working so well for me. I've had no problems loading .jpg files (of photographs) as well as video files on both the external 16gb micro SD Card and 8gb USB Flash Drive. I've also been able to copy files back and forth between the internal and external SD drives. The USB Flash Drive can be used to copy files to the internal SD drive or to simply use as a second drive to play videos or display photograhs (.jpg files). To copy and paste a file from a drive to go to another drive, simply press and hold the file to be copied and a menu is displayed. Select copy. Then go to the drive and folder you want to paste the file. From the copy/paste notification (press the icon displayed at bottom center) select the file or folder to be pasted. The paste process can be displayed via the notifications window (from the icons on the lower left of the window, press the icon furthest to the right). Curiously enough, the safest place to store and view either videos or .jpg files seems to be the USB Flash Drive. The internal and external SD cards work fine as well, but there does seem to be a problem at times with these files simply disappearing. Good luck.

VEGAn 7.0 RC does work well, and it's arguably the prettiest ROM out there. I've only not gone to it due to the lack of hardware acceleration for video decoding, I'm worried it would result in poor HD playback.
Ok, now on to the card reader. I bought a cheap-o USB reader from Office Depot for $12.99. I'm currently streaming "I am Murloc" from a 2GB Kingston SD card.
Note: The card had to be reformatted in FAT32 for it to work. NTFS will supposedly work for VEGAn as well, but I've not tested if my camera can read either. FAT32 should be safe.
Edit: Spoke too soon. It's working fine as long as I don't put it in the camera. Once it's been in the camera, I can't access it anymore. Not sure why...
Edit 2: Er... ok, now it's working again. Apparently there needs to be something in the root folder for it to pick it up, another folder doesn't work? Will have to test more.
Ok, hello, happy users of Sony Tablet S1. This is my first Android and I am simply not sure what to expect. I like it most of time, but sometimes I would prefer my fingers to be little thinner. With mine browsing (especially selecting texts) is nervous.
But that's not the point.
I have bought USB-microUSB cable marked as HTC and connected the tablet to the PC. But... surprise ... first, my computer doesn't see the external SD-card (Windows XP SP3), only the tablet's internal memory. But this is not the worst. When I switch to "Debug Mode", the PC stops identify the tablet and I can't make screenshots (I have already followed the instruction in the topic), DeviceManager starts to mark Sony Tablet with this yellow disgusting exclamation mark. I turn "Debug Mode" off... and that's great, yellow mark disappears and I can copy files from PC to the internal memory of the tablet and vice versa. But without "Debug Mode" I can't make screenshots, right? If so I'm really sad.
What can I do? Can I do anything at all? Oh, you tech gurus, please help me!
friend when I connect I only put music player will not let me even see the memory of the tablet so I recommend you better buy a SD adapter and passes everything that comes with the program and if Anttek apk file Explore with this application can pass things in the phone memory to the SD and viceverze greetings
Bro )), I don't need a SD adapter, I need screenshots. Of course I can wait till Android 4.0 releases (they say you'll be able to screenshot using in-build functionality under this OS). Yet, who knows, when Sony shows up with Android 4 for their tablets.
Problem solved, screenshots taken. Thank you very much.
Another issue.
File Explorer (in Dalvik Debug Manager) doesn't really transfer files from PC to the external SD-card of Sony Tablet, yes, there appears a window of file transfering, but the files transfered actually don't show up on the SD-card. Though I managed to copy a picture, so only certain file-types are allowed to be transferred onto the SD-card or there's a filesize limitation. I don't know I can't copy pdf-files through USB.
On my Samsung Galaxy S2 on Sprint I used Apps2SD by Sam Lu to move many of my apps over to my new 32 gig SD Card. After a bit I realized that I had moved many of the apps over that should have stayed on the main internal storage, mainly because of widgets. So I moved many of them back.
Shortly after doing that I was at a retreat with my phone on airplane mode to preserve battery life. I took some pictures and videos, read my Kindle app and Bible and then plugged it in to charge. The next day several of the pictures and videos I took showed up as a black icon and were not accessible. Then I noticed that all the apps that I had moved to the SD card were "greyed out" and even some of the apps that I had moved back to the internal storage. The phone then told me the SD card needed to be formatted.
Since then I have tried to use file recovery software to recover missing files on the SD card and it finds hundreds of photos and several videos, but nothing else. So the big question is, where are my apps? Does anyone have an idea of how to recover my missing apps? They show up on my phone with "greyed out" icons so the phone thinks they're installed but obviously they're not. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Nathan
The same with me...

I had the same problem my apps that I had transferred on my SD Card had a grayed icon. This happened when I had plug my USB to store some files on my internal SD Card in my I9000. When I plug my phone and pressed the "Connect USB storage" button it seems that the app had freezed so I unplugged my phone and did it again for several times. When Im fed up I tried to browse my phone and there the icons of the apps I had transferred on my internal SD card had turned gray. I tried to unmount and mount my internal sd card but still no luck. I tried to restart the phone and even remove the battery still no luck. I guess the best solution is to reinstall the apps. Sad to say if i try to plug the phone again as an external drive I can see the files on my phone including the OBB files of the games

in theory, if you re-install the app without clearing the cache, then all your files and settings should be there.

I did reinstall my apps and most of them retained their settings. I later had the SD Card begin reporting as needing to be formatted again so I removed it out of fear I may have gotten a bad SD Card. I don't know if the phone has issues with loosing SD Cards or if I bought a bad card. Haven't had time to trouble-shoot so I'm just going without a card for now.
G,day all,
I got 32GB Samsung Micro SD card. I've been using it for last 4 months. Music and Personal pictures, videos filled 20GB out 30GB.
Suddenly my music start skipping the tract can't play this format. and then realized the pictures are not available either. in setting > storage the external sd is grayed out. as if nothing is inserted. I pulled the memory out n insert it back. restart my phone. still didn't work.
Tried on my laptop even laptop doesn't detect it. Used card reader still doesn't detect. any idea what to do ?
I should also add that the issue is with Micro SD card only. I tried different sd card it work well on the phone and laptop.
my pictures are my real worries. any suggestion would be appreciated.

Well the problem is SD card can't be detected even using Laptop.
Download the sd formating tool, if that won't format it then the card is faulty and needs to be replaced. I had the same thing happen with a ten month old card, the supplier replaced it without quibble.
On my wife"s phone she filled up and 32 gb sd card, and her internal storage with pictures & videos. I bought a new 64 gb sd card, plugged the phone into my pc (I had the correct drivers installed for the g3). I went ahead and transferred the pictures on the internal storage first to get rid of the memory is full error. Everything went good, it took almost 2 1/2 hours to transfer the 22 gb of pictures. But when it was complete I checked the phone and 50% of the pics & videos where unreadable the phone can't open the pictures. I plug the phone back into the computer and you can open all of the pictures. Any ideas? sorry if this has already been answered, I searched and didn't see anytning on this issue. thanks in advance.
This may or may not be your answer but it has happened before that a MicroSD card behaves differently if formatted from the device it's going to be used on, rather than using the stock format that they sent it in.
If she really does want to keep all 20+ GB of photos/etc on the phone somewhere, you should probably move all the photos off of the MicroSD card to a PC (you can try with the MicroSD card plugged directly into the PC via an adapter, but check first to see if the photos are readable that way), then put the card back in the phone, format ("Erase SD Card") it from Storage in Settings, then copy the photos back, or just the photos that she really wants to keep on the phone.
