Does anybody have a stock zara_cl kitkat flashable rom? I've been experiencing slightly higher temperatures with IC than I remember with stock and want to go back to stock, especially since that rom has been abandoned. I appreciate any help. Thanks

Ok thanks. I used it and worked perfectly but texts were not sending and calls failed telling me something about roaming but I think Sprint was having issues with their networks. All is fine now. How do you keep Virgin from installing all the crap the second you restore and allow 3/4G or wifi to run? I know which apk to uninstall but cannot get Titanium backup download fast enough and running before Virgin Mobile essentials downloads and installs.
Although as I'm typing this I forgot you can just freeze the app from the app section. I've had this phone since Thanksgiving and only now do I think of it. Hope I remember it next time I factory reset.

Hey everyone. So I got a Telus HOX+. Unlocked the bootloader. I have flashed every rom that is available and I have only been able to get 2 to actually boot fully. But on both I was able to connect to my carrier but had no data.
I am running a hboot 1.32.0000 atm
Also have twrp for att installed using the all-in-one.
Maybe someone has a backup of the stock Telus HOX+ as I accidently deleted mine while nav around in twrp
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Cheers

A. The stock ruu is not available, we'd have to pay for it.
B. Have you manually added the required apn for Telus?

Yes, there are 3 ways
1. Softwate/OTA update from HTC (Officially)
2. S-OFF your Desire X and use a modified P66IMG.zip to manually flash hboot update.
3. Use an RUU for Hboot update (if available)
Regards
Yasir
As far as i know option two (S-OFF) isn't possible for Desire X as of yet, and option three (a JB RUU) hasen't been released.
So we're just left with option one. Do i miss something?

You can only update hboot via OTA update, and for that, you need stock Rom, like it was before rooting, and stock recovery. Then you'll get the hboot update to 1.24 and then 1.25 hopefully.

s-off involves high risk of bricking the device thats why devs stay from it and its very hard to attain s-off as it requires lot of hardware knowledge.. leavin aside some fancy mods, we can still do alot of development without s-off
S-OFF
ohok didnt realise it was that hard to do also when a device is bricked due to this does that mean using a JTAG recovery thing, (I saw one of the guys in the elegancia rom post meantion this) would not recover a bricked phone ?

jtag should allways be able to recover any bricked device (thats kinda point of using it)
oohk just got the idea that it didnt always work although the JTAG thing I was looking at did several things like S-OFF supercid etc

You're not stupid, just not reading much.
Yes, you need a stock ROM with everything intact (not even a single file is missing).

@ckpv5.
I recently tried an experiment. My bro Huawei phone got ota but as he had modified system apps, the ota failed. His ota also had firmware and hboot update (89mb)
I opened the ota zip, in updater script removed all assert checks, and then flashed ota, and it completed, even his firmware and hboot got updated. Have we ever tried fooling HTC stock recovery ?

thanks for the quick answer
Short answer: Yes
Long answer: Yes, but there are a few kinks. For instance the roms work perfectly fine without anything messing up. I for one have an m7att and was successfully able to flash roms between the att and ul variants flawlessly. However I then flashed philz advanced touch recovery on the ul forums and once I didn't like it tried to reinstall regular clockworkmod, however i was only able to install the ul version and now i can only flash ul roms. I can't reflash the att version yet because i can't use fastboot on my win8 for some reason so i need to wait til i can get my hands on a win7 again. Flash the roms but keep your recovery the same!
You need to edit the updater-script... Then you can flash anything.

Are there any build.prop differences between them, mainly data related?

We seem to have lots of confusion here.
Some say you can get S-off with SuperSU when flashing twrp, others say you need rumrunner which at the moment does not seem to work. Is there a way to come to step by step agreement here?
I promise you that you cannot get soff with supersu, flashing/installing that only gives you root. Are you kitkat? If so using rumrunner to get soff is much harder. Would be best to downgrade to Jellybean, soff and then upgrade to kitkat.

Could you please guide me through a return to 100% stock of my August - HTC M9 version
I am hoping an amateur like me could get my phone fixed too through the help of the group here. I recently bought a swappa phone didnt realize the ATT HTC M9 phone was an unlocked international Custom ROM, it worked the first day smooth with my ATT SIM. But from day two I couldnt receive any incoming call. I was told that by the seller to switch back to stock ROM ... Thus I started this exploration, completed an S-OFF using the sunshine $25 apk, Enabled developer version and USB debugging, but am not very clear with the next steps.
Especially 1. Which ROM version to download ? Should I know the original stock firmware version, if so how to ?
2. By SD card is it meant Micro SD inserted in the phone ? Can it be done by USB cord with out SD card ?
3. The OS in the system info says 2.6.502.18 ROM HTC so should I use the same RUU ?
Sorry if the questions sound so amateurish can't help it.
With s-off then you should be able to flash any att ruu. As long as you haven't messed with your modelid (don't remember what it's called). I would recommend running any att m9 ruu to clean up your device then do a full conversion to the dev edition. That will give you a clean ROM to mess with and coming from my m8 I expierenced less issues while on a dev ruu while flashing roms. Also if you're running a ruu through your computer then you don't need a SD card .

Without S-off you can only flash RUUs that update your software or are the same version and you cannot flash RUUs meant for other devices like the DEV edition RUU.

So, I'm almost there - I'm unlocked (using HTCDEV site), TWRP Recovery installed, Rooted, and (FINALLY!!) S-OFF!! (not sure why, but that last one made me really nervous). Also changed CID to CWS_001 ........ so now I'm ready to flash the Developer ROM - but there are a bunch of them and I'm not sure which one I should use. My main goal is to get to Android 6.0 - can I use a RUU file to go directly to the Marshmallow firmware or is this something I have to do in steps? Will I lose OTA? Thanks again!

I am now officially a "convert" - i figured it out. I started with 1.32.502.31 and have been updating all afternoon. I'm finally on the last update - 3.35.617.2 and I'll have Marshmallow. Goodbye AT&T - I was really tired of waiting for them to get their act together.
