Every now and again my phone won't make phone calls. When I hit call it pops up "call not sent" and goes back to the previous screen. I thought maybe out had something to do with WiFi calling but even if I turn off the Wi-Fi I have to restart the phone to make a call.
I have the same problem , requires a reboot to fix as well...

Have you tried updating profile then prl?
Settings>System updates
Maybe after those go to "Activate device".
Been there done that ... It doesn't happen often , only 3-4 times since I have owned the phone.

I'd love to figure this out soon. I only really have small gripes with this phone other than this.
Same issue, fairly rare. Thought maybe it was bluetooth related. But then it did it another time where I don't remember being connected. It is annoying when it does happen though.
Same thing happens on the M8 when we got the update with wifi calling and its enabled. Since i left it disabled i havn't seen it again. I think it is caused by wifi calling.
Try rebooting the phone.
I had the same problem, cant make calls or receive them, what worked for me was go into settings>network>mobile networks>network mode>prefered network WCDMA only
dont know if i have a faulty device or maybe it depends on the connection of my carrier...
Wifi calling is my vote.

Does any one face the following problem, it happens almost Daily at least once:
when i receive a phone call, the SLIDE to ANSWER or Pressing the home button ( i set home button to answer calls) does not Answer the call... the CALL is left in the background and i can not either Talk or even End the call!!!
i have to reboot to make a call afterwards!
i flashed KE2, 7 & and now 8 with no difference. i even Flashed the RADIO from the very ORIGINAL stock and no LUCK either...
I noticed that sometimes when this happens flight mode automatically becomes on! Really strange...

seems only you and me dear in this issue... so lets share and try to find what is causing this problem..
do you use any profiles app. or task management app, etc.?
Im on Samsung Omnia 7 and my phone have issues with incoming calls. I get silence when i answer. And my friend just bought Samsung Galaxy SII and he have the same problem. It only happens when you use a specefic carrier and it only happens when your in a weak signal area.
Also notecing a lot of internet connection, bandwith changing. Its all over the place all the time. Edge, 3g, 3g+ .. i belive on Android it says HSPA and HSPA +. But it seems its the sma problems with all Samsung devices thats new.
So since I've been using tablets since the xoom came out I always wanted to be able to send texts through my tablet but have them send with my phone's number. At first there was syncSMS, which was pretty good but required drop box to sync up messages. Then I started using Text tab which would pair the devices with BT. The app was ok, the interface wasnt that great but it did the job. I just bought Tablet Talk from the market and I have to say I LOVE this app, not only does it give you the option to connect via BT or Wifi(must be on same wifi network) but the interface is much better than text tab. Plus you can control your mobile phone. Meaning, if you want to call someone it has a dialer and when you dial from your tab it will place the call on your handset, you can even activate speakerphone on your mobile phone. Granted you need to have your phone close for the calling stuff and I am wondering if you connect the two via BT if you can actually use your tab to talk(I havent tested on BT yet) but I think it's still pretty neat. And when you get a call it displays the caller id number on your tab so no more having to pull the phone out of your pocket to see who's calling.
I have been using it over wifi since last night and havent even seen it eat much battery at all and I left it running all night. Anyway, I would HIGHLY recommend this app... It's the best Tab/Phone SMS app I've seen so far
ok so no audio routing when connected via BT, but it's still a pretty cool feature
When I get a call it shows me who is calling on my tab, and also rings on the tab. You can answer the call from the tab but it activates the handset, but as I said in the OP from the tab you can also activate the speakerphone on your phone
Try...
Tablet Talk
Routes calls and texts.

it routes the audio as well?
edit: My bad... that's the app I have.. lol I dont know why I thought it was Tablet Text. I dont see a way to route the audio though. It just activates the call on the phone
Is there a way for it to recognize the hotspot app on your phone as the wifi network? I have the hotspot on my phone enabled..but it still ask me to connect to a wifi network.
Have you tried the Sidecar app? It is available in the Play market.

hmm not sure.. I havent tried.. but why not just connect via bluetooth?
I haven't tested it extensively, but it definitely looks like a good app. I will be testing it more once I start making progress on installing the tablet in the car.
I bought it the other day and wished I did the trial first. It does work well, but my phone seems to disconnect often from Bluetooth. So then I have to manually turn the screen on and reconnect.
Guess I need to fool with the settings on my phone some more. It's very useful, except for this little quirk I'm having.

hmm that's odd. Email the dev, I emailed him a couple of questions and he replied pretty quickly. The first time within hours of my email, the 2nd one a day or two after.
It seems to be an ics issue on the Evo 3D leaks. All of them have this issue for me. That's why I think I need to play around in my wifi settings a bit. Thanks for the suggestion though

Hi everyone. I have recently bought Galaxy S3 and i have a whatsapp connection issue. Not always but sometimes, when i opened whatsapp, it takes long time (1-2 mins) to connect. Also sometimes when i tried to text someone it will send the message 1-2 later.
Also sometimes, i received some massages with 3-4 mins delay, i think it is because the same problem at above.
In settings, 3G is enabled also. I didnt recognize any other problem like this yet(browser etc) related with this situation. I havent any problem like this on my old phone (iphone)
Thanks for your replies...

I have the same issue and its only with whatsapp, I just ignore it as the messages send with a slight delay (whilst they are waiting to send I can browse the Web etc, so not sure how it can be a router problem)

So you cannot solve the situation =(( This problem annoying me a lot..
I observed something yesterday. I enabled wifi and tried my whatsapp lots of time. The connection problem NEVER occured.
Also this morning i realize that when i sent the message and when it is waiting to send (like there is a connection problem), i checked the server status of whatsapp on application, and it says fine/server is ok. Also as "mrbubba999" said while it is waiting, i can use my browser to reach internet and there is no problem with it.
I hope the problem is related with to the whatsapp servers/application or smt like that...

From what I understood, the issues did not occur on wifi? Check your apn settings with your telco provider. May be a damaged sim card too.
The issue does not lie with WhatsApp as I just used it almost extensively everyday and there's no delay. Also, wifi does not cause any issues so it's definitely something to do with your data

Have you tried to change the connection port? There is an option in settings, where you can change the port if you have connection issues.

If there is problem on apn settings or sim card, how can i browse on the internet without any problem. Also while my message is waiting to send, i checked the server status of whatsapp but it says fine always immediately.
it happens,it goes. best way is to check whatsapp status on twiter, they have problems sometimes,it's not always the phone's fault
Anyone else having WiFi issues?

I have had the same issue and it resolved after rebooting. But it came back once I let the phone idle for sometime. I have to restart the wifi for it to start working again!! I don't know much about this.. but its similar to the smartsync problem with One X.. except that the wifi disconnects every time the phone idles for a few minutes! Anyone else had this problem?

I had the same problem. Fixed it by turning off wifi, unchecking the "Use DLNA if DHCP is not available" setting, then turning wifi back on.
Faulty device
I tried all of those combinations but neither worked. Took the cell to a VZW store and they replaced it. Everything is good with this one, so the old was just faulty. Are you guys using any screen protectors or cases?

When this happens, go to advanced Wifi settings and check your IP. Most likely you have a 169. address and no useful default gateway. This generally happens when DLNA IP option is enabled and your DHCP server isn't fast enough for the [bad] rom settings provided by HTC. If that's the case, the just disable that option and cycle Wifi.
im having a problem as well just got my dna yesterday and it seems when its asleep for a bit i awake it and then disconnects flashes to 4g connected back to my network but i have no activity at that moment then i have turn wifi off and on to get it back
i know its not my network no other problems with over 5 other devices and never had a problem with any phone for years
My girlfriend has this issue with her DNA. They replaced it with a brand new one, same issue. We have a wireless router that has 3 laptops, another phone, two tablets plus my friends phones and tablets when they come over, no issues for anyone. But the two DNA's we have tried, do.
Connects, and then it says it is connected but stops working after a short time. Shows that it is connected but anything that requires internet sits there spinning. Disable Wifi and it kicks over to 4G and emails and stuff starts flooding in. Go into Wifi settings and turn it back on, and it seems like it keeps turning itself on and off, like it is stuck in a loop.
Both DNA's, same exact issue. BOth stock, non-root, both have had hard resets, nothing seems to fix it. Some searching on Google says that the issue, while not common, it's all that un-common either. Seems to be an issue with the phone itself.

That's my fear, that in order to "fix" the DNA, I have to void the warranty. If it were my phone I would be fine with that, but she is hesitant to...

it really isn't a big deal. If you have to return it for any reason bricking it or reverting it to stock isn't a problem and in all the years I've been working with Android, out of tens of thousands of users that I've had exposure to, I've never once have i heard of a carrier denying warranty work because of a phone being modified. they're generally just not smart enough to even know how to check if they even care to check. The only thing that I've heard about is people walking into store and telling them that the phone has been modified. In that case they will use it against you. Anyway you're better off with a third party ROM and a better kernel for this phone.
Used FXR from the market and fixed my wifi issues.

Went back to vzw, they said that HTC knows of the problem, it is software related but no eta on the fix. Not wishing for another thunderbolt debacle, she exchanged it for a RAZR HD.

I tried it exactly how you said to, disabled the DLNA option, turned off then on my Wi-Fi, and boom, started working again. I thought my phone could have been faulty, but I bet anyone who tries this will see their issue fixed.

I'm having the same problem but the DLNA option was already turned off by default. Wifi works right after a restart and then stops working a short time later. Once it stops working, I get a blank screen when I try to view the available wireless networks, even though this screen was populated with multiple networks previously. Frequently, I get a "Process com.android.settings isn't responding" message. I had these exact issues with my first DNA and Verizon sent me a replacement. Same issues with the replacement. Anyone else experiencing this?
My cellular Internet randomly stops responding in the browser throughout the day even it says I'm connected to LTE. I have to turn airplane mode on/off to get it working again. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or is it just me.

Me too, it will sometimes say, "Phone is not registered." I came over to T-Mo to save some dollars, so I was unable to determine if the issue is T-Mo's network or the S5. Especially true since I've always had HTC phones. My issue does only seem to happen in stores and where I work, so I assumed it to be T-Mo...
I also have a problem with the Wifi not remembering my password. Strangely this only seems to happen when I check the "Smart Network Switch", which is SUPPOSED to make it smoother...
It happens once in a while. Toggling Airplane Mode on and off fixes it.
Happens to me too. I don't think it's the phone, as I was having the same issue with the S4. Had to toggle airplane mode.
Sent from my SM-G900T using xda app-developers app
Same here, it happened very very occasionally with the S4, but it seems like it's at least once a day if not more with the S5. I had a separate microphone issue on my first phone so this is my second device that's had this problem. The airplane mode toggle works, and also turning wifi on and off works for me. The problem is when I don't realize it's happened and I miss a call which is problematic for obvious reasons. I've missed several calls in the last few days which I find unacceptable, if this doesn't get sorted out I'm going to have to switch to another phone soon...

I notice I get it when I am connected to wifi. Doesn't seem to happen as often when wifi toggled off.
