[Q] hp slatebook 10 x2 touch hangs after upgrade to 4.3 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am in nightmare.. Bought new Hp slatebook x2. It came with android 4.2,
I tought it always a good idea to check for new system update, so once logon to internet, I checked for system update, and there was an update to 4.3 and opt for it.
After update, it updated from 4.2 to 4.3.
There was another update calling something like EC update. Unfortunately, I choose not to update.
After upgrading to 4.3, my this slatebook is behaving and some time touch works automatically, volume starts working even not pressing, programs automatically open and closing, touch screen hang.
I done system factory restore, also in system recovery, clear cache and factory setup from recovery mode. Nothing helps,
I don't know its related with new upgrade to 4.3 or not updating EC update.
How I can find the EC update and manually update from some zip file and update it from recovery?
Please help me on my this new as I can't contact or go to HP as I am out of country.
Thanks.

Is there anyone to reply,
I want to down grade to 4.2
current version installed is 4.3-17R20-05-24
Please assist to downgrade to 4.2 or resolving the issue as this tablet is almost useless.

[Q] JB docking force restarts

I did the OTA update to 4.1.1 but i am having force restart issues when docked with the keyboard only and i downloaded the update tethering on LTE so I'm worried i have a corrupted 4.1.1. I did a factory reset and still getting the force restarts. I downloaded the stock ROM from Asus's website but i have no idea how to flash/update it! Its seems the actually recovery menu seems to be missing(wells its nothing like Samsungs or HTCs default recovery menus)? I am also trying to avoid as much hacking as possible (thats for my GS3).

[Q] Freshly installed 4.3 produces ghost OTA update notifications

I have installed Android 4.3 from occam image downloaded from Google to my Google Nexus 4. The phone has been rooted and set up with TWCR.
The problem is that every week or so the phone thinks there is an OTA OS update from Google: a notification icon pops up telling that an "update to Android 4.3" has been downloaded (update size 1.8M). The update "installs" in a second, boots into TWCR which offer to repairs root access (and I do), and then boots normally. There is no that "optimizing app N of M" lengthy process as with a real OS upgrade.
I confirmed that the build incremental version in /system/build.prop does not change; in fact, the build fingerprint is not changed by this "update":
Code:
ro.build.fingerprint=google/occam/mako:4.3/JWR66V/737497:user/release-keys
Why does this happen and what may I try to do to prevent this?
same issue happened yesterday with my phone

My wife's all stock Nexus 4 with Android 4.3 got an update notification today, and run an upgrade that did not change anything in the "About phone" page. Unlike mine, thought, it did the "Optimizing application X of Y" step after a reboot.
So maybe there was a systemic glitch which just coincided with my phone re-flash? This explanation would hold if I do not see any more of these "updates" coming in the next few weeks.
Hi kkm000
today I unroot my phone and flash stock recovery and then successfully installed the update.
version of the build changed from JWR66V to JWR66Y

Flash Android 5.1.1 LMY48M Lollipop Factory Image for Google Nexus 10

Google has issued a brand new Android 5.1.1 Factory Image file that should patch the StageFright Security bug forever. If you want to install a clean Lollipop OS on your tablet, then you should check all the info listed in this post.
The StageFright Security bug should’ve been fixed with the previous LMY48I Android 5.1.1 release, but that didn’t happen as tons of Nexus 10 users have reported that the security vulnerability was still there. If you want to be sure that this bug is fixed, then you should flash the latest LMY48M firmware version of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS on your tablet.
Installing a factory image on your will always remove all the data from your tablet and you should create backups before starting the flashing process. Read the following guidelines first:
use this post only with the Google Nexus 10 tablets.
– don’t try to update any other different tablets with the files that you will find in this post.
by installing this Android 5.1.1 LMY48M factory image you should know that the flashing process will remove all data from it.
– however, if your tablet is running a stock Android 5.1.1 LMY48I build that hasn’t been modified in any way, then you can use a small workaround in order to avoid the ‘factory reset’.
– more info on the update workaround can be found when you reach the tutorial instructions.
backup all the important files before starting the installation process.
enable USB Debugging for your tablet from its Developer Options menu.
– if you can’t find Developer Options under Settings menu, then you should enable it first: go to Settings> About Phone and tap 7 times on the Build Number section.
– return to Settings, scroll down, open Developer Options and find the USB Debugging option in order to enable it.
use this post only if you are an advanced user.
we cannot be blamed in case you end up losing any data in the process nor in case you brick your device.
check your Nexus 10 battery charge level and make sure that it is over 40%, it will prevent your device from powering down during installation.
read the whole tutorial and make sure that you won’t be skipping any steps, so that you will be able to complete the factory image installation at your first attempt.
I've used three different browsers to read this page in case I have some sort of content blocker active, and I see no tutorial in any of them...?
It's always nice to see people trying to help, and notifications of new ROMs are always welcome (though I installed LMY48M weeks ago), but there are already hundreds of tutorials showing how to upgrade a ROM - maybe you decided not to go ahead with the rest of your post?

I've had the same problem, plus now I have battery issues. The tablet won't fully charge and will randomly turn off after some unknown time of use.
This update has killed my battery.
Beware of this update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT TOTALLY SCREWS YOUR NEXUS 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I´m reverting back to LMY47V because the newer updates are bricking my Nexus 10! I have flashed and reinstalled it 10 times by now, it just can´t handle this update! I think they did it for you to buy a new Nexus device by killing the Nexus 10!

Are you referring to build lmy48m or lmy48t?
I can't get to flash anything. Even after flashing another version, the old version just stays. I've tried everything. Formatting, erasing, downgrading, nothing works. I think my Nexus 10 is officially dead. It will boot up and like 1 minute after it just crashes and reboots again. I have read that others have this problem, could be that the motherboard is shot. Since there are no motherboards available, I can't even repair it. It lasted exactly 2 years, what a waste!
Well I just spent hours going through all the ota update from original jelly bean that it came with up to the latest lollipop build lmy48t and everything is working fine thus far.

Lenovo tab2 A10-70F Fails to update to most recent OTA update

My lenovo tab 2 A10-70F tablet notified me yesterday there was a system update so I started the update and it downloaded and told me to reboot the tablet. The tablet boots into the update screen then quickely boots out to android system recovery. The error message states that it doesn't recognize the update.zip file or something along those lines. I don't think this is a major update to a new android version or anything as it is only 100MB but I don't know why it fails every time. The real annoying thing is that I now have a system update notification in the notification area that will never go away.
Mine's doing the same thing. Any solutions out there?

I have same problem, frustrating.
Same problem here. Removed sd-card but problem still presist.

unrooted lenovo tab 2 10-70 - unable to update OS

The 5.0.1 Android unrooted tablet was sent to a service lab, where it came back from having its motherboard replaced, when for some reason its OS was downgraded to Android 4.4.4. Since then some apps do not work, such as TV apps (that worked fine before) - the tab cannot play movies and shows on those apps, although those apps are supposed to work on Android 4.3 and so on. Moreover, since then I cannot update my OS, tab saying that I have the latest version (which is obviously not true) and when going to the Tool Kit saying that "An error has encountered when installing the recommended incremental update pack". Factory Data Reset did not do anything. According to the Root Checker, the device was not rooted, although it seems to me that the lab has messed with my OS. What do you think? The lab says though that my OS is "beyond their control" and that they could not have touched it, just replaced the motherboard with an original one, suggesting me "just to wait" for the update to come out, which I am sure will never happen. Any suggestions how to solve this? Do you think that the lab has messed with my OS or what do you think happened here? Thanks a lot, guys!
Can anyone answer that?
