Gravity box question - Verizon LG G3

So after reading the description on gravity box, I have a simple question, will it work with the lg g3? It says only vanilla roms.

I do like the g3 tweak box a lot though.

The only thing is that GB and G3TweakBox do have some of the same features and in some cases they can conflict and cause problems. So just be careful to at least not modify some of the same things in both apps. You may never run into an issue.... Or you could run into endless Force Closing like some have. Without a custom recovery to fall back on it could lead to issues.

You probably will have problems using both. I did. GravityBox overwrote some of my options I had set in G3TweakBox, options that I had never even set in GravityBox. I would suggest using one or the other, not both.

Xposed working for Stock G2 KK Roms

got this LG G2 xposed installer from @bugradurust that posted it in another thread. so all credit goes to him for sharing it. i just thought i'd make a thread in general chat showing that it does indeed work. here are some screenshots i took that show it working. i am currently using @AndroidUser00110001 powersuser rom and it works great with that. that's an international rom for the d800 g2 so i'm willing to bet it works for other g2 stock kk variants. here is a link to the apk you install also. make sure you have root because it needs that. yay! finally xposed for g2 stock kk! that was the only thing i was missing from stock kk rom!

Is that a way to root 4.4.2 Kat Kat without downgrading? Please help out

It actually works fine. G2 Tweaksbox has some issues (can't change icon color or hide them), but other mods work too.

But it is not offical. no telling where it came from and probably stealing all of your personal data
As far as I know, xposed is open source, so anyone is free to modify it to work on KK. You're right of course in that noone knows where this specific one came from.
it's really work in 4.4.2 ?

good, so now only custom recovery left to make 4.4.2 perfect
I agree with the above, being skeptical about the sourcing of this. Especially if this is the one that was leaked on the semi-sketchy looking Chinese website. Even if it works, there is no telling what else it may be doing. As an app with root permissions, not trusting the source is a no-no for me.

[Q] Best kernel for Note 3?

Just looking for something with great battery life and good performance. I'm running CyanogenMod 11. I've heard that the under-clocking when sleeping is useful but I need some more info on the stability of that to be sure. Any tips on kernels would be nice! New to the modding scene so the kernel is the hardest part for me to choose.

I may have flashed TW the first time. I tried the aosp one and it worked. Its weird, when I flash a non-sprint version of things it works better than when I flash spr. Cyanogenmod didnt install until I used the plain ROM. Can you explain that?

[ROM] AOSP 4.4.4-R2 Geeb [19/08/2014]

Just put this together for myself and decided to share.
Its 100% pure aosp so there isn't much for me to support.
Forgot to mention when I first posted, pre-rooted and busybox pre-installed.
It is set up for Canadian geeb which has green led.
For AT&T you could try xposed and gravity box and set the notification color from there.
Latest build doesn't use touchboost and you should see some battery improvement. Also removed stock aosp recovery from install.
ROM:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712461547
Banks GAPPS I use:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712459521
Thanks! Your AOSP 4.4.2 was my first ROM with the geeb, I thought the old thread got bumped until I realized the date and version. I love all the bells and whistles of CM based ROMs, but AOSP + Gravity Box is a pretty good combo.

Flash the rom as is, and fastboot flash boot boot.img after should work.
Or just replace it in the rom. Whichever is easier for you.
Let me know if it works, if it does I will start a new thread in International forum for you guys and upload a zip with this boot.img in it.
Just installed, and the ROM is working smoothly. Thank you very much for this!

They are CDMA and not GSM right?
Maybe as simple as a build.prop edit network??

Yes, we are CDMA. One of our first KK ROMs was actually an AOSP geeb port, exactly like this ROM (but older), and it worked. So its definitely possible!

[Q] VZW G3 and edge.

I'm on Verizon's edge plan. Have been for little over a month. I want the nexus 6 when they have it in the store. I'm rooted. Would it be bad if I bump'd it and installed a Rom on my g3? Or should I just wait? How do I unroot when the time comes?

When I joined the edge program, I traded in my unlocked, rooted Galaxy S3. When I traded in my Note 3 for the LG G3, it was also rooted. All they care is that the device boots up and isn't damaged.
I'm debating jumping to the Nexus 6 when it comes out, it all depends on dev support now that the G3 has been opened up.

Okay good. I'm just more familiar with nexuses. I had a galaxy nexus, a 4 and 5. So. Yeah. And with the g3 you can't do much. If I understand correctly, you can't run a Rom with a different base as the stock Rom. So most aosp and lollipop Roms are out. And on my n5 I ran the loli dev preview. Its nice and clean. I loved it.

"Bone up"? So are you saying I'm dead wrong? I thought that was the case. It had to have the same base or something. I don't know. I figured if it was completely open I'd see things like AOKP, CM, and PA... but like I said. I'm familiar with the nexus line. The G3 made me realize how much I don't know about Android and how much a breeze nexus is. It's a learning experience.

Which ROM has the best battery life, or is closest to Google's stock MM?

Just got mine today, from Prime day! I'm looking for a simple ROM, since my mom will be using this. I've heard that EMUI is confusing, so I was hoping to find a ROM that is as close to stock as possible.
Thanks!
Cm13 is your best bet for close to stock. However your mother won't have access to the fingerprint scanner if you go that route. It is currently only working on the stock rom. I found that stock with nova, Google messenger, and chrome are very doable and provide great battery life.

It's a custom stock launcher that puts 8 or so "tiles" on the home page-phone, camera, email, browser and whatever else they use. Settings and camera settings are limited to just a few things.
