[Q] Use USB tethering and connect as LAN from another device possible? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK so I have two android devices, a phone and a tablet. My tablet is the new NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet. I have a horrible old slow router, so gamestream doesn't work well. I was wondering if there was some way to use my phone as a router of sorts. My pc doesn't have wifi so I have to use USB tethering. Is there any way to use USB tethering on my phone, and connect to a LAN network via wifi on my table typo to my pc for game streaming, just like through a regular wifi modem? My phone is a Galaxy s4 on AT&T. Both android devices are rooted with stock roms.

[Q] cm7 reverse USB tether plus wifi tether to produce non Adhoc?

So, I'm running on the latest nightly of cm7 on my vibrant with a glitch kernel. What I want to do is share my wired connection with my laptop, phone, and ps3 without having a wireless router. The thought is to use reverse USB tethering to put the connection to my phone then use the wifi hotspot ability to share the connection with my ps3. I know the ps3 won't recognize Adhoc being produced by the computer, also it's impossible to receive wifi and broadcast it at the same time. So is it possible to do what I propose?

[Q] Ethernet tethering or using an Android device with eth port as router

Howdy,
I'm looking for a way, where I'm basically using an Android device as router.
My basic idea is, to have an Android device with an ethernet port (or usb-net port) and connect my PC or PC's to the ethernet port of the Android device, then tether the internet connection, that the Android device has via 3G or wireless out to be used by devices on the ethernet port.
Essentially it's like wifi or usb-tethering, but utilizing the lan-port that is build into some Android devices, like a raspberry pi, the ODroid Hardkernel board or for example Motorolas Lapdock Pro 500.
Has anyone seen a solution to archieve this ?
/M
Hi,
Are you able to include support for Ethernet Tethering in Android ?

[Q] How to reverse tether with 3G Modem

Huawei E3131 modem is working as a router which has an IP address 192.168.1.1 and as the DHCP server, it gives an IP automatically to the PC and connects to 3G internet without installing any drivers or any software.
How to use this 3G modem on an Android tablet or phone?
Depending on the android version of your devices, i'm pretty sure this 3g adapter should work properly with an OTG cable.
I own a Samsung galaxy s plus. With the stock android which was 2.3.5 i think i couldn't do much if anything with an OTG cable.
When i installed a modded 4.2 rom everything worked smooth. I tried a mouse, keyboard and a cheap cheap Joypad. Worked as a charm.
Any android ICS and above can do miracles with those cables!
There is a video in the xda developers youtube channel about on-the-go cables. look it up
Yeah I know about the OTG cables since I already resell them. But it didn't work with the mentioned modem and an Android tablet which has 4.0.4 version on it.
This 3G modem is a lot different from others; because nearly all of the 3G USB stick modems require a USB interface driver to be managed through. But this stick acts like a router; thus it has its own IP (192.168.1.1) and as soon as its plugged into a USB port, it assigns an IP to the computer (192.168.1.2) and connects to 3G in a matter of seconds; no driver needed, no software installed. It's like connecting an ethernet cable to PC.
That's why I also tried configuring USB-ethernet on the tablet, but it didn't work either.

[Q][SOLVED] How to make apps think Ethernet cable connection is wifi connection?

I have a Jetson TK1 , Tegra K1 powered SBC and it has Ubuntu and Android dual boot. Wifi adapter works on ubuntu but it has no drivers for Android. The problem is, many games that I want to play on it, require Wifi connection to load up bit dont recognize cabled internet.
Is there a way to fool apps into thinking device is connected to wifi?
Thanks
Ok I figured it out. Theres Xposed module called Fake wifi connection

Simultaneous Wifi and Ethernet Connection on AMLogicS802 powered device

Dear experts,
I have an issue with my Android multimedia device Orbsmart S82 which is powered by an AMLogic S802 chip. All my devices (phone, tablet, pc, NAS, orbsmart s82) are connected to the internet via Wifi.
To view HD-content on my TV, my plan was to connect my Orbsmart via ethernet cable to my NAS to receive stutter free video output. This works seamlessly. BUT: I cannot turn on Wifi and Ethernet on the Orbsmart at the same time. So each time I want to view content from my NAS, I have to go to the system settings and enable Ethernet. As Wifi gets disabled automatically by that action, I have to activate Wifi in the system settings in order to be able to view online content. But then, the ethernet interface is turned off again.
No matter what I try, only Wifi or Ethernet can be active.
Does anyone have a similar setup? What is your solution?
Thanks in advance!
In the meantime I found a possible explanation for the Orbsmart's behavior. Obviously, Android only allows one data connection at the same time per default. There seems to be a workaround if you can code. Unfortunately, I am not much of a coder...

Any suggestions to fix this without coding are much appreciated.
I found a solution. It only works for me if I connect an Android compatible USB / Ethernet Adapter. If I configure both Wifi and Ethernet manually with different subnets, I can make both work simultaneously. I use this adapter: Assmann DN-10050-1 Digitus USB network adapter.
Cheers.
