I have a T-Mobile UK USB Mobile Intenet dongle that I use for my laptop when travelling in the UK. (Huawei E1750 to be specific.) Is it possible to get this to work on the gTablet? There is youtube video of this working on other android tablets.
In my novice knowledge, I see two issues: 1) getting the gtablet to recognize the dongle; and 2) getting a ROM that has WCDMA enabled in the networking options.
Any guidance? Thanks in advance!
search this topic several members have tried to get usb dongles working with little success. there are no drivers for them
.
I have been trying out some of the old methods for windows phone 7 to mod the registry but so far no succeses.
Has anybody got any idea's up to now?
You need to have the phone interlop unlocked or something to fool the phone into thinking you've got higher access than just developer access which is granted to you either by developer account or chevron. Until we can find a native reg editor for Nokia nothing will be able to edit the registry.
Sent from my Lumia 800 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
I want to get reg edit in my Lumia 800 too
As soon as we have it then full unlock is available, but no idea when and if we will get a full access registry reader.

Yeah i even tryed changing the connection mode from zune to serial.
But when the device is connected it fails to install the Nokia RM-801 drivers.
It will recongnize the USB composite device, But then 4 seperate Nokia RM-801 sections appear when installing the drivers. It fails to find any drivers what so ever for the device besides the USB composite device.
I'm Going try with and contact nokia regarding this issue and to find out if nokia will be providing Devoloper or Admin unlock for the device
I asked Nokia about USB modem driver, but they do not have it. Wifi tethering will come pretty soon though, they said. It is already available in devs phones.

Hi all,
did someone know how to enable Wifi Adhoc compatibility on the Lumia800 ?
i'm unable to connect the lumia800 to a Wifi adhoc hotspot.
many thanks.

I'm not sure about what you are talking about but if it is SFR WiFi, you just need to use the SFR app.
I can't connect to ad-hoc with an Omnia 7 either. I ended up just buying a cable router to connect to rather than my laptop. Annoying I know..
Any news on this? If Nokia won't let me teether my laptop, the least they could do was to let me use my laptop to connect to internet and then share it with the Lumia...
Wait... The OP is having trouble connecting his Lumia TO a wifi-network? Do I understand that correct? If so, I do believe the settings on the hotspot is wrong.
jbbandos: You should be able to do that already. I'll check when I get to my laptop, but it works at home.
The problem I have is that the lumia connects to a access point, but won't connect to my laptop ad-hoc network. So wifi works, but seems to be incomplete.
If I recall this is actually by design. The iphone and I think a number of android handsets also don't support it. Remember reading about it when people talked about parrot drones.
Which then had to issue an update to start a connection in infrastructure mode as opposed to ad hoc.
The exact reason for the lack of support kinda elludes me though. Could be a security feature to prevent drive bys and hijacks I guess.
As a workaround, there is this application called "Connectify", that allows you to turn your Laptop into a WiFi hotspot. Works fine with Windows 7 (and 8) and my Lumia.

I actually tried it on a WIN 7 X64 pro, I created just a adhoc network on my wifi adapter (both a unsecured/open network and a wpa2-secured one) and connected my lumia to that wlan using the settings below "WLAN -->advanced settings-->add a wlan network " and manually typed the SSID here. Connection succeded, can reach my laptop, but nothing more, cause my Laptop isn't a router.
So all you have to do is to create it manually on your Lumia.
If you want to use it to connect your Lumia to the internet, you have to setup your adhoc-network-device to forward the pakets from its adhoc-adapter to its internet-adapter.

Hi, I recently upgraded from the AT&T LG Quantum with WP7.5 to the AT&T HTC Titan. Overall, I have been very happy, but I can't seem to figure out how to enable tethering like I did on the Quantum.
Before I was able to open the configure menu by dialing ##634#, and select QC composite mode. This allow me to directly access the GPS and modem features of the phone via USB. With the Titan, when I dial ##634#, dialer just disappears and reappears, but nothing happens.
Does anyone know how to make this work on the Titan?
Not available unfortunately. Only the Samsung and LG had the USB tethering modes. HTC either didn't include it, or it's so hidden no one knows it exists. The only tethering is the Wi-Fi Internet Sharing mode. But, it's locked down on AT&T. Still waiting for Interop-Unlock for our phones.
Hello All,
I recently switched from an Android based phone to a Lumia 920. The phone is great so far except for one issue. I am unable to tether the phone to my playstation. I have no issues tethering other devices such as tablets and my desktop, but the playstation fails to connect and prompts me to check my LAN security settings before connectivity can be established. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I read some posts about carriers restricting thethering access. Don't know if that could be the cause. I haven't tried tethering yet, will do so later today and report back.
