Quick Internal Storage Question!

This isn't my tablet, I used to have a Gtab from 2010-2012. This is my cousin's tablet and he recently bricked it. I just updated his boot loader from 1.1 to 2.2 and flashed a Jelly Bean rom. My question is, since he was in a Ginger Bread rom previously and had his internal storage partitioned. How do I partition the internal storage with 4.X.X to be able to use all ~12GB of internal storage for apps? Right now it is showing ~4GB available space for apps, but when you go to storage. It shows an internal storage of ~12GB. Only when you go to Applications does it show ~4GB.
Thank you.

Hello, the 4GB yuo see is for internal application storage (sometimes referred to as "phone" storage). The 12GB is for photos, videos, etc. Some ROMs can use this storage for applications too - check with your ROM developer (andbe sure to thank them!).

Hi, i flashed this firmware on m tablet:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2630617
The problem is that my tabled had 1GB of internal storage and 8GB of ROM storage before.
After te flashing im unable to use the ROM storage.
Is there a way to recover that partition/ROM storage?
