i kinda remember a thread where u were supposed to replace @something/dark.holo.theme to @sumthin/white.holo.theme in the xmls

+1 Developing a theme isn't easy as it sounds...

Search for tutorials.
You can decompile apps with the apktool, so search for apktool tutorials.
Use 7zip it will open it for you 2 edit it if ur on windows
I "built" my own theme to flash in cwm ...im proud to say all my hard work earned me nothing but a nice brick

You must first decompile the app with apktool or app manager. Then go to your xml files and open them with notepad++. That's what I use.

Answer: maybe he dont wanna use acheps theme (no offence). i know how to build a theme.

developing isnt easy, your right, like i have said in other posts, The whole of team wilbroy (more of a duo/trio etc) is developing one thing right now, and it isnt easy, first you gotta build the base etc, then you've gotta get libs/apps then build the system and more and more stuff (you know what i mean) then you've gotta compile it into a zip. I wont say anymore because you will get bored

Decompile settings.apk and then change the background with your .png image !
Image must be located in drawable ldpi

No this wont work.. If u wnt to mod the background then its in framework-res.apk over there u need to edit styles.xml . I have tried it

but when i copy Phonebook.apk (signed) to my phone by root explorer and i set permission
then i restart my phone after i lost contact & phone from my phone.

An Arc with CM9 on. Don't sign system apks, that might be the issue.

Read the "Recompiling" part HERE
I cant recompile Settings.apk
I used:
Code:
apktool if framework-res.apk
apktool if SystemUI.apk
apktool if SemcGenericUxpRes.apk
apktool d Settings.apk Settings_S3
(edited two xml...)
apktool b Settings_S3
But always the same error.
I just updated apktool to the last version. I am using windows 7

You must add both drawables/strings with right id to public.XML
can you all give me xperia active original battery icon on status bar . i need it i don't like the percentage icon .
What you want is the icons or the SystemUI.apk?
Have a look at Tickle My Android. It may have the icon you're after.

you need to decompile android.policy.jar from /system/framework.. add some files and makes some changes...
there are guides for that.. and you know where to search :silly:
